An Old Dee like you threatening to eat your hat. I hope you have hair or another hat. Was "Wattsy" aiming for the the player he kicked it to. (joking of course)

You've just about nailed them all. But Dermott Brereton wasn't there. He definitely needs his head punched in.

Dangerfield has been tagged out of the game. Scott Thompson looks slow Sloane looks the only midfielder On Essendon, anyone who rotates through the midfield picks up kicks.

I was contemplating going to the commencement dinner, but decided against it because I thought it was going to be a lot like the Bluey Truscott night. From what I have read it is more all encompassing and far more entertaining. I think from what I've read it has to be my must attend function to attend. I agree that the little phrase Neeldy said about the quick improvement has me really pumped. GO DEES

The tragic downfall of Liam Jurrah

Good Luck LJ, I hope you can get your life back together. Whether that be in Yuendumu, Port Adelaide or Melbourne. -
Now when I played football, when was the last time you heard that. We defended to the flanks until we were clear then attacked to CHF. The forward flankers and on ballers were hovering around the CHF in case the ball spilled. Today I don't really think that concept has changed. The only thing is the pace and endurance. Yes you may say they have zones, we had zones as well, but weren't fit enough to implement them like they do these days. Coaching has come a long way in the past 45 years. The plans good coaches have to break the strengths of the good teams are amazing. I think Neeld is thinking man's coach he will adapt his plan to suit the cattle he has to work with.

We have more of a chance of winning at Darwin than we do at Etihad. I say bring it on, we wont get the injuries we get at that s**t hole called Etihad. Also we only get a crowd of 10000+ to etihad then get penalised for it. Let's play the interstate teams we hate to go and see, up in Darwin and have a better chance of pocketing some cash.

Sponsors - has the tanking investigation hit?

Yep just looked at the web site the NT Govt. is now a Platinum Partner which puts it on the same level as Hertz -
Couldn't agree more Nut. Although it hurts big time to realise that because of that lack of consistency, we are still along way off the mark. I know we recruited to get that more experienced consistent player. I just hope we see something from it this year.

Just a thought. For round 1 could we hide Hogans body inside some elses jumper? Now that's a forward line that would stretch the best backlines in the business

Happy Birthday for tomorrow Pants. You are far too young to have your patience tested. Think of OD Jack and numerous others that have had their patience tested for nearly 50 years. Patience is all we have.

NAB CHALLENGE: GOLD COAST SUNS v MELBOURNE
Barney Rubble replied to Gorgoroth's topic in Melbourne Demons
Quarter 1 – Melbourne 2.3.15 – GC 1.0.6 Another day of hot conditions confronted the Melbourne players for their final hit out of the preseason competition against the Suns on the Gold Coast. In a low scoring contest The Suns hit the scoreboard first with a remarkable goal from Gary Ablett kicking from 50 out hard up against the boundary line. Melbourne hit back midway through the term when Hogan out muscled his opponent and snapped one through from 30 meters out. The remainder of the quarter was a even affair with Gold Coast doing well to get numbers back in defense which made it difficult for the Demons to get value for their higher inside 50 count. New draftee Matt Jones kicked the final goal of the quarter after a 50 meter penalty made his conversion a gimme from straight in front. The Demons taking a nine point lead into the first break. Notable players for Melbourne during the first quarter were youngsters Jimmy Toumpass and Jesse Hogan. Quarter by quarter updates now on MFC website -

2 goals each this Q. That's a real fade -
Considering he was injured virtually all of last year. he tried his guts out to clear the ball single handed, the other backs were playing up forward. Then when he did run around in circles and got tackled it was only because our totally inept midfield gave him nuttin, along with his newly formed back line with no experience. Sure he fumbled a few times but where was the assistance when he needed it? Things started to click when Dunn with 100 games of experience went down to help. One player does not a back line make. The new members that will be rotating through this year will certainly allow Chip to do one job not three.

Can Melbourne win a premiership with its current list?
Barney Rubble replied to Young Dee's topic in Melbourne Demons
We must be about he same era OD. I went to my first GF in 1959 that I remember. Dad said I also went to 56, but I must admit I don't recall it. I probably spent most of the time collecting bottles to get the 2d refund. -
Can Melbourne win a premiership with its current list?
Barney Rubble replied to Young Dee's topic in Melbourne Demons
I was a supporter of Watts when we first picked him up in the draft. A friend of mine who was / is a recruitment person for P/A at the time said to me that when the U/18's were being played that year at ETIHAD. The texts were going around to DB at the time said about Nic Natanui. What can the best development coach in Aust. do with a talent like NN. DB's reply was " And bears can S**T in the woods. I read from that statement that DB would have preferred NN but was hamstrung by a board that wanted JW no matter what. I have lost all faith in JW as a footballer, yes he has some skills, but that doesn't make him a footballer. Last year pre Xmas I was hounded by D'Landers for leaving him out of my best 22. This year I think along the same lines, he has skills, but he needs to show some guts. Something he has lacked for the past 4 years. If you think JW at this stage is AA like you did last year or the Messiah to resurrect the Dees to where they should be, then think again. I know it sounds like another JW thread, but it's just that a lot think he is a lock in the 22. Last year it was he was going to be AA CHF now it's best 22 as HBF. Just give up, he is an average footballer at the most. GO DEES -

Can Melbourne win a premiership with its current list?
Barney Rubble replied to Young Dee's topic in Melbourne Demons
We definitely won't win with the current list or even within the next 3 years. I would like us to be competitive, winning 10 games this year, then 12-13 the next and maybe top 4 the next. If that happens, then we maybe a premiership chance in 4 years. Remember the top sides are going to lose players either to retirement or free agency in the next 3 years. That, to me is the time we should be building towards with clever acquisitions and draft selections. The new culture is only one year old. It will take a few years of winning consistently to become premiership contenders. -
Also there are 2 other categories that "Caros whipping boy" forgot to put in his very selective article. "ABOVE AVERAGE & "AVERAGE"

I really don't know why you complain on this forum. My guess is that 90% of D'Landers are paid up members or will be by the start of the season. It doesn't make much sense.

Why? Sellar played the whole game, Going by stats. pedo was a sub. 1 kick 1 handball. Now if he played all day for those stats. he wouldn't play again.

WYL you just beat me. A win interstate is great, but a win in the outback of Bogan Renmark is a miracle. GO DEES
