  1. I'm in and looking forward to just not being in a public league. Like everyone I have, Viney a steal. Toumpas, Whitfield, O'Rourke, Wines. They should earn lots of early $$$$
  2. Well OD you really stuffed us up again. Like all AGM's they are orchestrated to avoid the tricky answers. Now that you've mentioned it on D'Land, they will announce that we will not answer questions about. 1. Cadbury Sponsorship 2. Future games and sponsorship in NT 3. New Training ground at Docklands. 4. What the response was to the AFL re: TANKING.
  3. Thanks for the effort HG. You have opened my eyes to the weekend of the 20th July I've booked flights for friday. Then by accident I found out the Derby was on the Saturday. this then followed by Footy on Sat night. I then get picked up at 6:30 am for a 3 day trip to Kakadu. all I need is the Derby winner and a Dees win. Absolute Top End heaven.
  4. You know DOF I put almost your response word for word in the club survey I just sent off. The question was what could the MFC do to make you happier? My response win a premiership before I get shipped off in a pine box. Back on the Subject :- I am feeling pretty excited about this year, let's hope that what we see on the training track can replicate itself on game day. Go Dees
  5. It looks like the majority are going for the same old back line of last year. Maybe with 1 change. Last year our back half was atrocious. So why would we only change one. It wouldn't surprise me to see Tynan, Terlich, Strauss, Nicholson get some serious game time. Frawley, Garland T.McD are locks. Dunn, Watts, Joel Mac. will be fighting for positions. I have seen them train a bit but I would prefer to see how they go playing against real opposition, than their sisters.
  6. He has played 29 games mostly backline he has kicked 4 career goals. I am yet to understand why you think he will make a HFF When I saw him last year he couldn't kick over a peanut (accurately)
  7. Has Matt Burgan been suffering from Dehydration after his stint in NT. The Latest Post on Demon News. LEADER Nathan Jones says he is relishing being a leader of the Demons and is adamant he will do anything he can to help drive the standards of the playing group. Jones and co-captain Jack Grimes were the only members of the 2012 leadership group to remain from 2011. And although Melbourne has yet to name its 2013 leadership group, which is expected late January/February, Jones remains hellbent on pushing the expectations set by the coaches and the incumbent leadership group. Have the club been pulling our leg?
  8. We aren't going to be a one man forward line, like we were when Neita controlled the Goal half. If Mitch isn't there we'll have Pedo, Dawes, Howe, Sylvia, Fitzy. Rotating around creating confusion. Throw in Gawn & Spencer when fit and I'd hate to try and match up on them. Then think about big Jesse next year.
  9. RR will return to claim, he is the rightful Messiah. Who lead the Dees out of the wilderness and on the path to the Holy Grail. He alone with his polls was the only reason the club took the initiative to restructure the FD. His poll on whether we should get rid of Cale Morton was the crowning glory on Melbourne resurrection. Well that's about as much BS I can write, I'm feeling quite I'll.
  10. Most Kicks : Jones Most Handballs : Grimes Most Tackles : McKenzie Most Marks : Tom McDonald Most Goals : Dawes
  11. Who are we to complain about a leadership group. If we went by the players performance on and off the field prior to 2012. We shouldn't have had more than 3 in the leadership group. Now we have 9 and probably another 3 on the fringe of being named. It says to me that as a group we are improving rapidly. I do agree with the omission of Jamar. He had a woeful year on the ground, although I can't say what he did or didn't do around the club. He won AA on the back of his understanding with Moloney. When Moloney didn't want to play last year, it left Jamar with no-one to play with.
  12. I suppose you are correct in theory. But to me a home ground is one where you train. I would suggest that we do not have a home ground advantage at the MCG when playing Collingwood, Richmond or Hawthorn. maybe we should play them at Gosch's Paddock?
  13. Why on earth would you worry about the Age being a sponsor or not. The question you should be asking is why are you employing morons?
  14. 5 Jimmy Toumpas 183 77 02.01.94 Ok if the players list has Jimmy Toumpas at 77kg. My guess is Dom Barry has to be about 65kg
  15. I want to know some strategic matters. When will Melbourne be Stand alone in the VFL? They are being hurt by the scorpions tag and administration. AAMI Park has good facilities that we share with Victory, Storm & Rebels. But Gosch's Paddock is below standard for training. What has been the latest development on the Docklands proposal? Is there an adopted Master plan and time scale? I think we need a home to call our own. Since we won our last premiership 1964 we have been co tenants at the MCG. Even our U19's couldn't train there except wed. night they had to go to the Albert Ground. Then came our famous move to the Junction oval, a very good playing surface but the changeroom and weights etc.. were pathetic. Even now we are still disjointed with FD at AAMI and admin MCG. It would be novel to have everyone under the one roof.
  16. I just can't believe this Jon Pr**ck (I'm not good at spelling) Can even get away with writing a 1/4 page of nothing. He is obviously the Chief Football writers B**ch, whoever that is. I think he will disappear off the planet when CW gets back from her sabbatical. I wonder whether the AFL consulted her as to when her holidays ended, so that she was around when MFC had to please explain. Talk about tail wagging the dog. LOL!
  17. Totally agree with most everyone's thoughts. When reading the article I thought I've read all this before. It was by our brother D' Landers. It's actually great to sit down and read it in 5 min. Rather than trawl through several thousand posts including all the sarcastic finger pointing personal arguments with other posters that don't even relate to the topic
  18. I heard Jon Pierik on SEN this morning. he believes that if things go smoothly it will end about mid year. If there is a court challenge, then more likely end of 2014. So now it's time to just enjoy football GO DEES
  19. I do agree that the mid field is important. But Neeld is trying to build a Fit, fast, strong well drilled & confident team all over the ground. The confidence will come from playing with each other and knowing your roles. I notice the good well drilled teams, when they break free the players immediately just move to planned areas, it's just 2nd nature to them.
  20. We wrote the original rules. I think we as a club should be hired as the major paid consultant. to Re write the rules so that none of this BS could ever raise it's head again. The new rules would be all encompassing including drafting, umpiring, playing rules, GF entertainment etc.. Hang on isn't that what the AFL is commissioned for. I just can't believe the amount of stuff ups in the last 10+ years by this wonderful overpaid commission.
  21. I don't know about the Gold name on the card. I haven't been called that name, since mum called me in for dinner. It would be great if we could have our D'landers names on it. Can you imagine having Sloonie, Macca, Belzebub, WYL etc.. plastered over your membership Absolutely Sheer Dead Brill...
  22. Thanks BB. The family is planning something for the weekend. Looking forward to the feast.
