Would you give up Sanders / McKercher plus 2 first round picks to get Reid? Because it's highly likely that one of those players will be available with our first pick. I wouldn't.

Joel Smith says hello. Geez he was our best forward in the finals

You have no idea of how the contract is structured. It might have been front ended and they both might be on minimal payments next year. That would be good list management.

Morris has drifted out to 36 in the latest rankings. I really like him.
-
Surprised that Logan Morris is not ranked in the top 30. Has good hands and very good at ground level. Good size at 191 / 90kg.

Very old school thinking.

Agree. Everyone on here seems not to rate Joel Smith and I understand that given his history. But he has come on in leaps and bounds this season and became an integral part of our forward system. That's 3 very good contested forwards that can all take a mark. Add Fritsch and McAdam as medium talls as well as our smalls which might include Watson, then the forward line doesn't look that bad. Melksham might even get another contract. It's our forward entries that I believe is the problem. We don't need a Lynch or a McKay. We have the cattle.

Everyone has seemed to have forgotten Joel Smith as a target forward. His forward craft has improved considerably and he ended up with 11 goals from 14 games (Petty 12 goals from 14 games) for the season. He provides a contest, has good defensive skills, is an accurate kick and is quick. If he has another strong preseason and avoids injury (big if) then I feel he could take his game to the next level. His game on Friday night was very good.
-
Yeah coming from a guy who made a similar prediction re Petty as a forward.
-
Looking at the footage it appears that he also lost his footing. The ground surface was appalling. It was not afl standard..
-
We kicked badly that day.
-
Not really. Don’t say you like a player in one post and then say he is overrated in another.
-
PF does it make you feel more important by putting words in capitals? You have made your point that you don’t like Petty. You don’t have to labour it.
-
Gee you must be loving Bazball. It’s the new shiny object. Collingwood is the equivalent.

The Old Xavs are playing there this season as Toorak Park is out of action.

Wheelo, this is great stuff. Question - Do you have data on Centre Clearances to Advantage and Stoppages to Advantage? This would compliment the Hitouts to Advantage stat.

I heard Tracc said Trump’s a crook.

Would you trade 2 first round picks plus Rivers for Pick 1?

I was thinking the same thing. Has he got it off a mate or from Dr Google. Very strange for a guy off the street to make such a medical diagnosis. Maybe he has personal experience in this type of injury.

Mitch White played for Mansfield last week while Casey had the bye. As expected he was BOG.
-
That worked well last year. They were all banged up through the second half of the season.

Of course not, but it appears that the usual suspects are only capable of making negative comments on how we play. There is little balance. Typically, there is no recognition of how well the opposition plays against us or how much pressure the opposition bring to the game. Hawthorn came out strong in the third term, with an impressive pressure rating. Yes, we might have been a little rattled for a short period of time, but to our credit, we were able to reset and finish strong. It happens in every game. Obviously you know this as you are the big picture guy.

Yeah I agree. You watch next week if we lose to Port. There are a number of posters just waiting to let it rip saying I told you so.
