  1. Didn't we win? Didn't the Suns beat Geelong?
  2. I remember reading this when it came out. It's an interesting observation, and it got me thinking about how, with the emergence of KC, our forward line setup can be a real point of difference from the rest of the competition. We can have four strongly contested and aerobically elite smalls in KC, Nibbler, Spargo and Kossie at the feet of only two talls in JVR and Max / BG. It certainly would make our forward line unpredictable.
  3. Now the next important one to be signed is Kade Chandler.
  4. Guys, I'm trying to get my head around our stoppage clearances. We have arguably the two best ruckmen in the game as well as arguably the best midfield yet we are ranked last in stoppage clearance. I feel this is more of a tactical play rather than a flaw with the gameplan. Goody, in my opinion, is more concerned with how we set up post clearance and is comfortable with allowing the opposition to bring extra numbers to the stoppages. Although Clarry, Trac, Viney, and Sparrow are having fantastic seasons and are contested beasts, their stoppage clearance rankings are significantly lower this season. Clarry was ranked #1 last year and is currently ranked #32 this year. I have also noticed with interest that in the Tigers' premiership years of '20 and '21 they were also ranked last and second last in this metric. What is your take on this?
  5. Goody mentioned in his presser that he is playing.
  6. Good question. Kick-ins, I believe, do not count towards a player's disposal total. When the player plays-on from the goal square, this is included. May does this frequently with good effect. I don't think Goody trusts anyone else as much as May for this role.
  7. May is ranked 1 in the AFL for Effective Metres Gained for Tall defenders and 12th overall behind Nic Daicos, Luke Ryan (Fre) other medium defenders. Not bad for a guy that is struggling.
  8. Go to the AFL website / Matches / Match Videos
  9. This man has had one of the most impressive starts to a career that I can recall. He is so composed under pressure, and his kicking is superb. He won't get any media attention because he's just doing team things. In terms of effectiveness, he is already not far behind Hayden Young. He's game has been fast-tracked by having some some brilliant mentors next to him.
  10. Also TMac provided options all game but it wasn't his night to be on the receiving end. Next week could be.
  11. The AFL website will have it up under Videos by tomorrow.
  12. That wouldn't make much difference.
  13. Mate, settle down. Jordon Lewis is not the only making these comparisons, the well respected Mongrel Punt had this to say last year; "Jordon played 22 games in his rookie season and slotted in as a peripheral component of the Melbourne midfield with a minimum of fuss. Comparisons to Brisbane champion, Simon Black, had me raising my eyebrows – it is always tough to place a label on an unproven young talent like that. However, there was nothing about the way he played the game that would lead me to think those comparisons were too outlandish. Jordon was composed, balanced, and used the footy well. His vision was excellent and like many young players, he did not seem to lose too much steam throughout the home and away season." No one is claiming that JJ will reach the dizzy heights that SB did, as you may believe we are saying. That is absurd. What I mean is that the way JJ plays reminds me, and I'm sure others, of the way SB played. He is having a very solid pre-season. Trackwatchers have commented on his composure, his hardness around the ball and his ability to think his way through traffic. SB had these attributes in spades.
  14. JJ is tracking similar to Simon Black. See a lot of traits that are alike.
  15. Gee BBB is moving very well. Can,t see TMac. Will be surprised if there is a match sim on this ground. Its quite dry and uneven
  16. I read somewhere that players are on a 4 day break from their clubs as result of their collective bargaining. I might be wrong.
  17. After reading that no one will come near us for the next 5 years.
  18. No. All he wanted to know was what our backup plan was if Max or Brodie went down. I'm not sure why you double-down on the panic statement unless it struck a chord with you.
  19. Your view dates back 30 years to the Geelong era where their game plan was full-on attack. Every game was a shootout. No pressure acts to be seen.
  20. It's more difficult to hit the scoreboard if he's playing higher up the field, as he was last season compared to the premiership year.
