I've given up Morton bashing but I will say this..... Men are men and boys are boys. Trengove is the complete package Grimes will always be picked if fit Watts will be an absolute champion . Morton owes the MFC We owe him nothing ,except the opportunity to improve himself-alot . Anyone can "lose their man" and hope the contest gets won. Its terrible ,unaccountable ,unacceptable ,embarrassing ,demeaning , cheap and selfish. I only hope he was under instruction from Bailey and that those instructions are nullified . I formed this opinion playing CHB and full back . Half my job was to yell at flashy and loose mids and treat them like the glory hunters they were . Cannot stand "outside" players. Netball is a good game for that . Cale Morton needs a defined role , some defensive tactics and some belief .Bailey let him down. Neeld may give him the confidence to be all he can be .

Does that include the tragics on this site that think they are "in the know". I think it does . There's something in that for all of us- even the former leadership group who are now not . Once the season begins -there is only 1 general and all the rest are soldiers .

All right enough of this .BM is actually the least of our problems .Perhaps he can improve as he does every year .As Martin Flanagan said in yesterdays paper he is the heart and soul of our club and actually barracked for us as a kid so he knows the history .Why don't we pick apart the guys like Morton and Gysberts-who never put a block on for him .CM is one guy that should thank god he is still on a list . Brent , as has been said ,would walk into any team in the comp.Can he get better? Yes we/he can! By the way ,I don't want to keep up bagging our own .Morton has another crack ,has 80 games to his name ,should be doing the business now and has not done the business so far .I think he lacks confidence and just needs a breakout game . Consider Moloneys losing performances in light of the guys he has had to protect and let run free under our stupid plan last year .There will be no "outside/inside " this year . Everyone is inside till we have the pill .Any BM knockers here ever won a an AFL B&F ?

Burgo was painful- get real .Suburban and witless , looking like a gushing sister in every interview . Robbos a natural lair and a charmer with enough confidence in himself to make it fun to watch . Thanks Burgo- honest and sincere effort but bland .

These days there are theories on when a team should physically peak during a season . I'd like us to win from the start and keep on winning and getting better . Players need to make it a habit and a right to win every time they walk out .

Just on stats.Compared to last year and the top 3 clubs , we need another 1600 kicks and 6 or 700 handballs.

Reasons for his differentials are due to tagging, blocking and tapping to the opposite side he is on . They are not a result of his lack of effort . They are tactics from teams that have worked out that to stop him in 2011 was to stop us .

I really dont think you can blame Moloney for being the best of a bad lot last year( in the midfield) .Rah-rah guys need a bit more to make it than just enthusiasm .Gysberts and Morton went missing in bad games .Beamer was ill against Geelong (as was I) .

I pray to the injury Gods- please give us a full list barring big MaX ( who has been saved from poaching by injury.) I'm praying on minimal injuries and a big year as a result .

Went to the '88 GF at 7am .I remember the cheer squad were passing around plastic ponchos or raincoats .That was a real highlight of the day . Then it got bad. From memory we had a good team in the reserves who got thumped as well ( I may be wrong). After the first bounce I find anything hard to recall-my mind has kind of blacked it all out .It's too painful to go back to that day .Can we never mention it again please?

I can see Watts slotting goals under pressure consistently . He has a beautiful technique and temperament for a goal kicker .Look out . If we get nice delivery ,how can you stop a forward line like ours will be . Howe Watts Jurrah Green Clark Jetta/Bennell

Gysberts walked into the Afl and managed mid-20s possessions immediately . He is a ball magnet and has good awareness . Still physically a teen and not really a "unit" big enough to play on the ball all day . Training photos show he has put on a bit of weight . Doesn't have any major defects except possibly endurance which is man made anyway . Could be anything . Has the critical and elusive quality that genuine ball handlers need . TIME .

I saw Wilson play and he was a lair and a showpony and it's true he would dive for frees . Accused of being selfish , yet he could slot goals. He was a top player even with all those selfish traits. Had all the skills . Made the game interesting .
