I don't care as long as we get someone tough. These tough kids we get should be ready to go at 18, with muscles and tattoos, perhaps a few assault charges. The new generation are a bunch of lightweights. Some call it ultra professional to refuse a beer with team mates. I call it big-girls-blouse-and-Sydney-is-the-perfect-place-for-a-wet-gusset like you syndrome. Dustin Martin is about the only kid playing that I wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley. Good Family/nice school/good VCE results? Good for you-go play mixed netball on Wednesday nights. Time for us to get some kids who don't smile all the time-you know?

After Misson has finished with them I expect Morton will come out looking like the Terminator .

My thoughts on some of the gaps mentioned in the opener are . Power Forward- Hale isn't one , they hardly exist anymore because they get killed by numbers. Crumber- a hole that Maric , Jetta , Flash or someone must fill because these guys are made , not recruited overnight . (see Milne ,Schnieder ,Davis , Betts ,) Garland-a lot of room for improvement.He falls down a lot and has poor body language when he is down. Moloney-not slow , our best player-the best clearance man in the comp in fact-against Geelong he could hardly jog due to illness. Jones-will improve every year because , like Beemer , the attitude is right . Bennell will make his knockers look foolish next year-he has the lot but fades in and out as young guys do . Rucks-we're sweet here Backs- overworked but incohesive , kick outs , plan? Rivers-an enigma who should be more consistent

Husseys form just shows what a bad decision it was to drop the Kat on age alone. CS and CC are the brains behind our off-field revival and the only amateurish and divisive thing to happen last year was Bailey and his leaking to the press .It backfired big time . If the rest of the comp thinks we are divided because of a cheap shot by Caro Wilson ,John Ralph or some other hack ,let them think that .United we stand. Mick and Eddy and Bucks? Not so sure . The players that thought they might get rid of CS have about 25 years of studying Machiavelli to catch up to him . i would like to see them named and marched .

Must is a strong word-I think all of us place too much importance on coaching these days. A farmer is only as good as his cattle-hats off to those who have got us where we are in this respect -we all know there are good signs even in our most ridiculed recruits . listening to Neeld ,I think if I were a young kid trying out for the MFC (as I did in the 90's) that he would inspire me with his considered resolve and direction .The missing link is a desire to sacrifice ,to endure pain ,to play at my optimum for my mates and my coach . Any more confusion of the hierarchy is a Collingwood invention that is doomed to failure in my opinion . Eddy will be the architect of Collingwoods demise with his interference in what is clearly a working hierarchy .Craig ,whist respected in Rundle Mall , is nothing here .Let He _____ Before God do his thing without interference .Lets unite and trust the man we have hired to do the job .i do not want to take on the Eddy mantra of divide and conquer .I just want to see him eat himself to another chin and watch Collingwood disintegrate without He B4 God .

CC CS and JS have organized all the off field success we have been having. That they have been doing more than their roles require is beyond doubt but this comes from our needs .All the problems have been addressed as they arose this year . Bailey too soft-gone. Ball movement coach ( mainly the ball has moved over Frawleys head and through the sticks-gone. Followers smashed weekly-West gone . Cool with me. This new coach should get the players strong in the hips , bum, groin etc like he did with the aints. If Morton comes out with some arms I'll be happy. Bartram has one huge thing in his favour currently-he is a former Grubber and if we can get his foot skills worked on he can shut em down all year .
