Dawes at his best is in the 22, if he can get back to that is an entirely different question. What he does provide though is depth, which for the first time in recent memory we have in almost every position (ruck being the exception) A fit and fiering Dawes keeps pressure on Pedo/Frost and allows Wiederman to develop his craft at Casey

I see Christian becoming our Shaun Burgoyne type. Burgoyne rotates between halfback and midfield and can influence games with 20 odd disposals.

My theory on M Jones... he was recruited from Box Hill, working under an elite Hawthorn game plan and is benefiting from playing in a good Melb team. A friend who played with him still maintains his run and spread is up there with the best he's seen. A good contested ball winning midfield = a good Jones

I will be most interested in how our small forwards perform this week. Kent, Garlett and Kennedy were fantastic with the pressure they applied against Port and it will be key to beating the Doggies this week. The Dogs entire game plan is built around rebound from the D50 with players like Murphy, Wood etc, it will be interesting to see if we can counter their style and make their defenders defend.

If (and it's a big if) the club has had some indication that Prestia is headed our way next year, does that change the drafting strategy this year? Could we go two talls with the knowledge that our midfield will be all but completed come 2017?
