  1. Yep in hindsight worse than this year as 2010 left us with great hope
  2. RPFC think I made it pretty clear I want Midfielders and Rucks who I said I prefer were all taken laet in draft or rookie elevations Just to clarify MIDS with Pick 3 & 4, rucks late picks or rookie/PSD
  3. With you there if Neeld has decided to delist 10 delist them, jesus I hate Meth Coast but I rate their culture and their FD has been strong for years, I admire the way they develop and get the best out of ordinary players, Woosha is not a great coach but he demands fit players who do the team things and that is what we are asking for now, it will take time but another Eagles non negotiable is to go to the draft and never trade picks, I agree with this and until you are in a flag/top four window you don't tade for Boaks with top picks, so for me 3 & 4 are off the table even for u/17 draft as barring a miracle we will still have a pick inside top 10 next year. If we can get Boak for pick 13 and a player then I will take that or even if we want Caddy chase that I'll take 2 top kids, Viney and a ready made mid in Boak/Caddy ATM I'd sway to Caddy, I believe we can get him cheaper keep some coin for a F/A and get the kids. I agree with you on Magner & Couch keep them for another season or two at most and thank them for their efforts unless they improve out of sight, at least you know they wont die wondering. Currently thinking use 6 picks in draft, 1 to 2 F/A's and upgrade 2 rookies and maybe a PSD pick up, that allows us to delist 9 or 10
  4. Last few top draft picks as rucks who were going to be guns Gardiner (96) Fraser (99) Kruezar (07) Natanui(08) no thanks Mumford, Jolly, Jacobs, Cox and even Jim (God bless him) are always there. Take the mids
  5. Good post, bit to sensible for some of the unrealistic melodramatics on here, who you'll be able to work out soon enough, but welcome aboard
  6. The fact you don't get his interiews says more about you than it does Neeld, whilst he may not be the messiah, he is what the club needs and in fact needed his type in 2007, to lay down the law and stop the tail wagging the dog. Sheedy would have been good but needed a rest You don't have an agenda, are you serious, you've had it going all year. If we were the same this time next year you would have a right to carry on as you have!
  7. I saw the early 80's and they were hard but from 1987 to 2006 barring a couple of odd years here and there we were generally fairly decent. Throughout those years we maintained very strong cores of sides and have lacked that since 2006. We drafted bad during the Danniher era and he never had the quids at his disposal to rebuild another strong list, probably erred to in relying on those who continued to let him down when it got tough. For me the season has not gone as expected but I had us finishing around 10th at best, I think with injuries and a lack of confidence we have underperformed despite a new coach and game plan we should have won more. Unlike Hardnut & Tonatopia I will not be slashing my wrists but found myself turning off last night about ten minutes from the end, which is something I have never done before. I saw the same despair and lack of hope on Meth Coast fans 2 years ago and have been around long enough to know things change in footy and get your rebuild and structures right like Magpies & Cats from 1999 & Hawks from 2004 and you can have yourselves up there for a decade and in with a shot of a flag every so many years with a few tweeks to a list. Wont say roll on dratf period & 2013 because we will be better, but I expect improvement without setting the world on fire
  8. Just to confirm 4 "top quality" players who picked themselves were all that were left on the board of our 22. I'll just give Neeld more time and the opportunity to build his own list
  9. Now you've confirmed what shite you talk, before a ball was kicked we were told the new game plan would take time to adapt. It's clear the amount of training and the focus on gameplan over results has been done with approval and a view to the future. The talk you disregard from Neeld about having to peel everything back would not have been allowed had he not been given the stamp of approval from the board. Or do you think the board rang Neeld up and said look we are going to give you the position but that stuff you said at the interview about us only having four quality players and needing to change the way we play, well we want you to forget that. I'm not blindly defending Neeld just find it astounding how some want him out because their expectations for 2011 are unrealistic
  10. WYL the best thing for this team is the change of the baton in leadership, which has started this year, Gysberts is as quick as any in the AFL with his hands and decision making, he is Matt PRIDDIS minus the tank, which will come. Outside run with another preseason in Blease or a draft pick up with toe will see great use of Gysberts inside work. Good midfields have plenty of depth with multiple players rotating through, that will be trenners, gysberts, sylvia, jones & howe and grimes with occassional cameo stints. Jordie Mac will get run with roles from now on. Add to them Viney & the others we pick up and whichever F/A we pick up and things look up. Pretty happy with how the defence is coming on and improved ball use from midfield will see the forwards look better. As for Cook A/A U/18 CHF at 19 years FFS, Butcher who many here were calling for last year had done nothing for 2 years until given a run late last season. Give Cook time, I have seen a lot of Darling and he will never be the number 1 forward, which is what he would have been for us had he been picked up 2010. Very good 3rd tall but thats it
  11. More carp from you wyl, Gysberts can't get a decent run at it through injuries and how good was your lovechild Darling last week as the main forward.
  12. At least I'll be there to say goodbye to Greeny if this is his final game. Great servant to the club
  13. I see benefits both ways, but really 2013 has to be the focus, whilst also giving some on the edge a run for 7 weeks may have benefits in them not being fearful of going straight out and may show Neeld something when he looks towards trade and end of year cull. The most recent scenario we have is Meth Coast from 2010, they put the cue in the rack and got their players fit and had long steady pre seasons to work on their game plan and build elite fitness. Whilst I am fully aware we don't have the Cox's, Kerr's, Glass's & Lecras, there is nothing to say we wont pick up and equivalant to Gaff in the draft and one of our 4th year players doesn't step up like Shuey. Whilst I don't think our list is capable of doing what the Eagles did in 2011 as we don't currently have their A graders, a good pre season has to be the priority, our best 22 and limited injuries for 2013 will see dramatic improvement
  14. When the end comes it comes quick as it did for teh Lions of 2005 and hate to say it because I love him as a player for an opposition man, but Chappy is just about Cooked
  15. I've also been told this by two other sources. One who works as a footy manager and made contact with another footy department person with another Victorian based AFL club. When he asked if the other guy had heard of it he answered yes and apparently common knowledge amongst footy departments Dees are prepared to offer 6 to 7 years very much front ended as we have the money in the cap now. The risk with 6 to 7 years is by 30/32 years of age he will be finished but don't think the way it is structured with front end contarct it would be that much of a burden. Still not sure on this trust my source but nothing to say the Clokes aren't spreading this rumour around the industry
  16. Sloonie is right you've not done yourself any favours with this thread Olisik
  17. There midfield is a clearance machine with such depth they rotate the likes of Jack, Hanneberry, Kennedy, Bolton, Mcveigh & O'Keefe then you have the outside run of Jetta with either Mattner, Shaw or Malceski off half back. Would be frightening of they had Rohan playing outside as well rotating from a forward flank witH Jetta. They are ahead of us in depth and outside speed Just for the record and clarifying BH this was not in response to your post but backing up the post from whover it was (possibly Tonotopia) comparing us with Sydney
  18. Jeysus, Big fella you're far more optimistic this week than last week, good to see. A week is a long time in footy as they say Looking forward to work tomorrow the Docker fans I work with are fairly humble and a lot of them texted me yesterday saying how lucky they were, the Meth Coast supporters will be talking up there injuries but fook them I hate that club and will just sit back watching the Dockers fans devour them
  19. Has been good the last 4/5 weeks now, here's hoping we are starting to see him maturing and realising his potential. Whilst I pray we get it right at the draft and trade table this year, an uninterupted pre season for Sylvia will be a big step forward in our midfield developing. Fit and hungry Sylvia and Gysberts in midfield with Jones and a few young guns from draft has me optimistic as we move forward
  20. He has the last few years so dont see why not, has a bit of mongrel about him and whilst I hate the Tigers (Claremont) he is one of the reasons they are so hard to beat
  21. Probably getting on a bit but Ian Richardson from Claremont
  22. Ross Lyon gave him a rocket early in the season to get him to get his attitude, right still not sure on him, I have seen him play a number of times for Swan Districts in the WAFLthis year and on occassion he has been red hot but when things aren't going for him he spits the dummy. Not sure he will make it but was very good today
  23. Sums it up really "when I switched on for the last quarter" are you for reäl fatigue equals skill errors, Strauss's kicking was very good before we started to tire Can I sum up what you are basically saying ïn comparison " I sat through the last day of a three week trial and can't believe he was found not guilty
  24. Howe was moved to Hill ealry in the first quarter and did a good job on him after that, agree with you though really needs to improve his kicking for goal
  25. A gutsy effort, Jamar going down really hurt us in the second quarter but we appeared to regroup, Bennell going down robbed us of rotations and we were hanging on from late in the third, needed to head in 3/4 time with a bit more of a lead. Happy with the efforts of a lot of boys, a lot of merit in chasing mids for next season but having two targets up forward would also be nice. If Gysberts played well today time for him to come in bit of polish in midfield would be good on todays display the intensity and endevour is there. Strauss getting more games into him and Watts coming back will see us setting up attack off half back much better as the team moves forward
