The game and world is poorer for your passing Tom, but your legacy lives on today through those you coached and who passed on your teachings and attitude. May you rest in peace and may all Demons and Tigers fans pay you the respect you deserve this weekend RIP

We were a shambles lets be honest and as all parents do they just wanted what was best for their son and we really weren't providing it. What you have to remember is most kids drafted from WA generally come from the Perth Metro area or are country kids who have been brought down to the colts in their last year or two of schooling. Perth is not a big city so a lot of these parents have known each others for years with their kids coming up through the junior ranks, making WAFL club development squads dependent upon their zone. Trips with state squads and these parents get to know each other and they do talk about what is happening at each club and when drafted the friendships and conversations continue. Word gets out and we also have the kids not drafted but playing locally who came up with him through the ranks, when these players come back to Perth they mix in the same circles and talk. As I said in my previous post Song the club has put most things right and I wouldn't stress to much

Posts like this for some reason remind me of my nights as a young Police officer with the local moron face pi55ing with blood coming up to the front counter and telling me that someone belted him for know reason. After speaking with witnesses or viewing footage the truth became a little clearer and the issue was the person attending the station couldn't understand why others didn't think he was funny and/or his behaviour which resulted in him being on the receiving end of a little touch up, may need some review the following morning before making a complaint

for those stressing just a few things to take in mind Hogan is not a Freo supporter Pavlich as far as I have been told was not his childhood hero Hogan's family were not happy with the club last season with all that was occurring while we were an off field mess Since the change of FD and other matters off the field he and his family have been very happy with the club and he was itching to play for us Freo need a replacement for Pavlich next season not 2016 Freo need a replacement for Mcpharlin next season Freo will need a replacement for Sandilands in 2017 None of them are currently on huge coin players like Fyfe, Hill, Walters and whoever they line up next season as replacements will take a fair amount of their cap. I wont be stressing over Hogan until I hear anything further from people in footy circles in Perth

Agree, he wont go to Reiwoldt, but IMO think he can do a good job on Vickery and get in his head
-
Agreed did a job on his man, that's all you can ask of the defender

IMO Roos has shown a lot of faith in the players and I think he will give TMac First option on Riewoldt, Dunn to Vickery. Byrnes still providing forward pressure and closing down space, Kent offers more and if fit I don't mind that change. Roos is for the now and winning every game, Bail stays and Terlich if he comes up also stays. In Contention Kent - as stated above Riley - I think the Toiges are soft and don't like the hardstuff will be considered Clisby - good form and along with Georgiou the obvious one's should Terlich not come up Georgiou - been good and has done all Roos has asked Blease - personally wouldn't play him I think barring a turnaround the line is halfway through his name, but his name may be thrown up because one thing the Toiges struggle with is pace Of those named above depending on injuries I only think possibility of 1 change, maximum of 2

Demonland Player of The Year - Round 8
Pennant St Dee replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
6.Tyson- Barrett watch this kid and tell us again we were wrong, the not so obvious is this kid has played barely 20 odd games 5. Jamar - not quite there but showing why he was an AA, he would have been very valuable in some earlier games we also let slip 4. Cross - love the way he goes about everything great asset to our side 3. Howe - getting better every week in the new role and showed a fair bit of confidence down back 2. Vince - faded a bit in second half but still a good night 1. Viney - the kid is a bulldog and like Tyson a lot forget how inexperienced he really is at this level -
Well said P-Man I have been thinking of describing how I feel, I was watching tonight thinking how good is this after last weeks surprise win that we are in this all the way. Last 2 years I would have been happy to come away with a close loss, tonight gutted because we should have iced that game and the free would not have mattered.. Feels good after the last few absolute horrible years to be proud of your club but angry that you let 1 slip, forgot how this used to feel

I really like the kid but $500k he is not worth that and pretty certain given the culture he built at Sydney Roos would not be forking out that sort of schilachos to a kid in his 4th year. -
Not sure about 2 in a row, possibly 2011 last time we done that. 2010 would have been the last 3 in a row was in 2010 IIRC, we got pumped by Hawks in Round 1 and I was thinking FMD here we go again and we came out the following week and went down to the Pies by a point in the game where Petterd unluckily dropped a mark in the goal square just before the final siren. From there we won 3 in a row, not sure who all the opponents were but I do know we beat the Tigers in 1 game and also towelled up Brissy on a Saturday night when Warnock injured Fev and Brissy were previously unbeaten. If my memory is correct after winning 3 in a row we were looking good and dropped a few winnable games from there including a loss at the G to Meth Coast who ended up winning the spoon that season

Has anyone ever seen Barrett & Jumbo in the same room?

The Jack Viney bump that never was!
Pennant St Dee replied to Matt Demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
Really proud of my club for standing up not only for one of our own, but for standing up for what is right in the game. Nobody wants to see anybody hurt out there, but this was an unfortunate accident. Enjoyed the win Saturday Night, had the lingering doubt Sunday the MRP may be in two minds about the incident, so been focussed on this since Monday. Now looking forward to Saturday Night again coming up against the Dogs, underdogs again we are and I like that, people still think Adelaide took us for granted last week and we were lucky What is it we have been saying since Roos came on board and things have changed bit by bit, "Small Steps" Well MFC hold your heads high because throughout this ordeal you have taken a very big step (off field) Lets mix the icing on Saturday Night with a win Go Dees -
If we are redoing the draft now you have to take a few things into account namely those players we have seen a fair bit of and those we haven't. Would we still give up pick 3 to get Hogan - yes I would but those who want immediate impact wouldn't. Do you want a ruckman because our ruck stocks don't run so deep, if I was picking players on what I have seen at AFL level 1) Whitfield - still the one for me, class and vision and will be elite 2) Mcrae - as above 3) Wines - what he doesn't have in class he makes up for with agression and size, barring injury looks every bit a 200 game quality mid 4) Viney - Lets face it had the opposition seen how good he really could be against men at this level we would not have got him at Pick 28 5) Grundy - still can't believe the Dockers who at the time needed a long term replacement for Sandilands took Josh Simpson over him, the Dogs who had Pick 5 could certainly do with him and Minson working in tandem now 6) Mayes - looks really classy and has the ability to play through the middle or off HBF really like this kid and he has not looked out of place since day 1 7) Vlastuin - as above although doesn't show the same class as Mayes but Toiges have a good one here 8) Menzel - there is the injury cloud but has looked good this season in a side severely lacking leaders 9) Toumpas - still shown enough to suggest he will be worth a Top 10 Pick, makes some good runs and knows how to find space, disposal is good so has the tools 10) Danniher - has shown enough and lets face it Bombers were never not going to take him at Pick 10 - it's about the player he will become not what he will do in years 1 & 2 Stringer has shown glimpses but overall been a disapointment to me Plowman & O'Rourke I have not seen enough of but I actually in the little I have seen in O'Rourke I see apossibility as a big mid in teh Barlow/Mundy mould Kent - slipped under the radar and would not drop out of the top 15-20 if this draft was done today

Like Clem Michael over Simon Black Ashley Sampi over Jimmy Bartel Jarrad Oakley-Nicholls over Bernie Vince Liam Jurrah over Tom Rockliff Aussie Wonamerri over Mumford Those Freaky indigenous boys all worked out really well, didn't they. Out of that group the only one you would class as a gladiator is Mumford. You are no genius and through the history of the draft there have been a lot more misses with draft picks than hits.

The Jack Viney bump that never was!
Pennant St Dee replied to Matt Demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
You do all realise that embarrasment for a human trolls through all supporter sites and he will be getting his rocks off with the acknowledgement that people have read his column. I haven't and will not read anything he has written and I refuse to watch the FS or SFS due to him being on them. I would advise others to do the same and boycott anything to do with him. -
Even with a succesful outcome for Jack this will take a lot out of him, I know he is a strong lad and one out of the box but should the verdict be overturned and he play a blinder on the weekend then for his age he is even stronger mentally then I thought.

I agree TGR somewhat but sometimes you have to make a stand and whilst there are risks I think long term benefits for our club making a stand will assist in setting a new culture. We believe Viney is the victim of a misscarriage of justice and we are doing all we can to back our player -

Players to target at the end of the year
Pennant St Dee replied to JackVineyForPresident's topic in Melbourne Demons
Zac Clarke should a bit of form yesterday has had an interrupted pre season but rate him quite highly very athletic with his prime ahead of him. He and Sinclair to me are probably the best ruck options
