  1. Sorry Dazzle my apologies, should have done my homework and looked at who posted on Barretts comments
  2. It is not an exact science and we are not robinson crusoe in picking the wrong ones Chris Egan, Oakley-Nicholls,Kane Tenace, Beau Dowler, Beau Muston,Fergus Watts, Mitch Thorp, Laurence Angwin, Cayden Beetham, Andrew Mcdougall, Ryan Fitzgerald, John Hutton, Riley Dunn and I am sure we could go on forever
  3. Agree mostly although the Swans seemed to get their grunt back last week
  4. Might help that the players seem to listen and respond to Roos
  5. On todays performance Carlisle is not a forward but I rate him as a defender, not sure on his contract situation but if he wants to play down back, may be worth having a word in his ear
  6. Gives everything and does the jobs which he is asked to do, can't fault him for that. Yes he has deficiencies but if we had his effort and attitude across the list we would be a lot better off than we currently are. Well done Rohan and I hope there are more to come for you
  7. AF (good initials those) Bad choice of word in "again" by Barrett but went off on a tangent when Gary said what ever again Storm in a tea cup
  8. FFS just watched it who started this thread, Dazzeldavey try listening to things in context and not sensationalising things. It is what we all criticise the media for Talk about a play on words, discussion about meeting next week due to lack of responding to current treatment. Barrett - Jesse Hogan has not responded to initial treatment and right now there is significant on when he will be able to play football again Garry then interjects with "what again at all" or this year Barrett is not committal and just says again. Barrett then goes on about speaking with Mahoney and a time frame of being hoping he will be back in the next month, but there is serious doubt on that being the case He then asks Dawes who (as I said earlier) talks about the club not rushing him back even if that means him not playing this year(although Dawes says he does not believe that will be the case) because the club sees him as a 10 year player. That is where it ends
  9. Don't agree, Scott Thompson is also on record saying there were some issues between he and Danners. Jurrah is just from a totally different background and Mitch Clark is beyond injury. Luke Shuey & Scott Gumbleton are two I can think of off the top of my head who were injury riddled for the first couple of years and have felt indebted to the clubs who looked after them. Hoges is a unique kid in more ways then one. Once the club keeps on the right track with Roos and recruiting the right players he will stay.
  10. Overs, O'Rourke's & Jaksch will both have done their 2 years at season's end
  11. FFS are you people really that naïve, isn't this the same Damien Barrett who only recently reported that Dawes was still at least a month away.
  12. No it doesn't but it certainly evens the ledger and certainly reduces the odds on getting absolutely pummelled. It's why we got within a point of the Pies round 2, 2010. I don't believe in honourable losses but if the boys give everything and leave nothing in the tank and do their best I can't ask for anything more.
  13. In the West we are two hours behind so FS not started yet, but I hope Gary took Barrett to task if not he should never let him forget any ridiculous claim that he may never play. FMD you only have to look at Tom Hawkins 2013 to 2014 to see how different a rest for a back injury can make. But being the staged show it is they will continue to introduce this muck raker as the number 1 story breaker in the business. Hoges had back issues when he was younger due to (non medical term) issues with growth spurts along the lines of the top half of the body outgrowing the bottom half but he got over them fine. As I have said before he is a 10 year player and this year whilst frustrating requires kid gloves to be used. My understanding from those who have played with him over here and word coming back is the club wants him to get everything 100% right and he is just really frustrated at not being able to get out there. Having done the preseason and the year in the VFL he was busting at the seems to play AFL this year. Don't worry he will be fine, patience required
  14. I hope your joking
  15. Absolutely no way we let Hogan go, seen this kid in the Development squads, Colts, his NAB 2013 & 14 and live last year vs the Northern Blues. He has shown all the traits as a once in a generation player. A must keep
  16. He is done, has gone one season to long and No thank you unless it is in a coaching role
  17. Been an Evertonian since I was 4 years of age Saty, first time in my lifetime we have beaten United home and away in the same season. I can't thank Moyes enough for delivering us Martinez!
  18. Love the idea, very good concept the night before the most important day on our calendar. They have done their homework well on this I would think. IMO all teams or at least states should share in Anzac day in some way
  19. Neither Lycett or Sinclair are worth pick 20, in fact barely a 3rd rounder, what was Michie pick 54, that is about the ball park figure for those two
  20. Rosa - very underrated works very hard and runs all day, cheap free agent pick up but not sure Meth Coast will let him go as their midfield is their weakness Mundy - will be 29 next year and IMO would not warrant the coin he would demand at that age Gaff - watch Gaff he earns a lot of cheap possessions and Demonland would be bemoaning his lack of physicality, likes to play out the back for the slingshot from Meth Coast on the rebound Goldstein - great if we could get him Patton - Does Patton Hogan & Dawes work - I really don't know the answer to this Parker - yes from me great workrate Dangerfield - would throw the bank at him but can't see it Fyfe - wont leave WA Sewell - no from me has hammered his body for 10 years and there is not much left Mackay - good midfield depth and can also play of HBF in a role similar to Jarred McVeigh Target As others have said target those not getting regular games in Top 6 sides and don't discount the midfield depth at GWS plenty of first round picks not getting game time and coming out of contract soon
  21. I have not seen South Freo play this season so can't comment on him. West Perth vs South Freo was the televised game last Saturday and he was BOG with 37 possessions so you should be able to find it on ABC online possibly
  22. Smith is not a big lad he is around the 175-78 mark and I don't see him getting any bigger he has some speed but lacks a tank. He does like to hurt people when he tackles but does not have the tank to do it often enough or be the game changer we hope for. He lacks the size to be a big mid using his pace and size to burst out of clearances like a Judd or Dangerfield. I would describe Smith as a poor mans Cyril Rioli and at best he may end up being a Lyndsay Thomas type. Pickett has blinding pace but can go missing for long spells during games, not sure about this kid, has all the tools but IMO lives on the tools when needed and the reason he goes missing so much is because he lacks the hunger, which will be amplified at the next level
  23. I've put him in my omissions but as I stated that is more to do with maybe needing a break. Looked a bit sore yesterday and I agree he is young/inexperienced and improving but as part of moving forward we need to also go into every game trying to win and I think a fit Jamar against Pyke as opposed to IMO Spencer needing a week off is the better option
  24. Just an update on the last two rounds of WAFL Round 4 I attended the Perth derby which say a massive 100point win for my Cardies against "The sold outs" from East Perth. an all round team performance who just put the foot on the throat and went for the kill. No draft prospects apart from the mature age Shane Nelson but no different to any of his games over the last 2 years great workrate. East Perth's side had a few young Meth Coast listed players only College and Karpenny showed anything but they were really up against all day. Round 5. Went to the Perth vs Swans game today looking forward to seeing Clem Smith but he didn't play, Callum Collard played but was relatively ineffective and was payed a lot more attention than the last time I saw him play. This was a great game Swans got out to a 5 goal lead early in the first quarter but it was an arm wrestle after that and when Perth looked like they had done enough Swans kicked the last 3 goals to win by 1 point. The 3 Morton's played today and Cale showed a lot of composure with the ball, made really good decisions and did not succumb to any pressure perceived or otherwise with ball in hand. Must say he looked like he was enjoying his footy today which didn't seem like the case last season. Probably a lot to do with playing with his brothers. Jarryd Morton was very polished mopping up across half back and was also polished with his ball use. Unfortunately it was a day for senior players and not much to see in the shape of potential draftees, although Swans full forward Ricky Cary who was plucked from the Amateur ranks a couple of years ago showed great awareness and positioning with the ball coming in. He ended up with 3 or 4 goals and at 22/23 fits in the right age bracket but IMO doesn't have the body type for the next level
  25. Agree with you entirely, I was just pointing out to those saying he is left alone by opposition and those saying he can't cut up opposition Dr G we sing from the same hymn book, as comes out in my posts over the years I take substance over style any day, style is the icing on the cake when your window is open
