You don't ask you don't know, they wont be the only club chasing Pick 1 & 2, they may only want one of those picks but other clubs may have something they want. Long shot but I would give it a fly
-
Well may be a risk but if we get pick 1 & 2 or even Picks 1, 2 & 3pp Shiel & Treleor for Pick 1 & 2 and I their second round pick which would give us Shiel, Treloar and Picks around 20 & 21 or Shiel, Treleor & Picks 3, 20 & 21 Take it in a heartbeat I would

This is very much on the money, living in WA and getting regular looks at the local AFL lists over the years through the AFL and at WAFL level you think their disposal is shocking. Over time theyare forced to buy in and work hard or they are out. The penny drops (for some it's straight away) and realise the workrate and effort required at the highest level. Over time they develop get used to playing at the level and the skills improve. Deboer - could not hit a barn door, but always worked his arse off and has developed his skills Mayne - as above Walters - was overweight and lacked the zip and awareness and was unable to apply the pressure he does now and his great skills suffered because he fatigued easily Crowley - was gone 3 years ago but reinvented himself lost weight and can now run with the best players in the league Meth Coast from 2008-2010 had young players who had terrible disposal and were in and out of the team such as S.Selwood - was very bad early days at turning the ball over but always had the family traits with effort and was played as a tagger but over time his disposal improved and now he is a threat to opposition players Brad Ebert - like most of their side really struggled with disposal until 2011 but became a very very good player for them before heading home Eric Mckenzie still not great by foot but a lot more composed and knows his limitations gives a lot of hope to Tom Mac Masten who's poor disposal continued until 2012 he has always been an athlete but they gave him some roles late 2011 and 2012 when he did the job which was asked of him and became comfortable with his role and now has the belief he can play at this level Meth Coast and Freo's lists have tremendous running power and never stop running to space, running to create space, leave an opponent and sacrifice themselves when the time is right to get to a contest, run hard to make second efforts and will put their bodies on the line for each other. If we just did these little things every game we may not win every week but we would not get belted

As crazy as it seems not totally out of the picture to come in and do nothing other than run with a small forward in Garlett or even do a negating job on a Murphy or Carazzo

SMALL MERCIES - POST MATCH DISCUSSION
Pennant St Dee replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
And we could go close to doing it again next week if Cripps carries his VFL form into next week at AFL level -
Wasn't that Ben Cousins
-
No he will not help us long term, Daniel Cross whilet older is a different type, not on the same coin as Mundy would command. Daisy Thomas is not what Carlton needed and we should learn the same, Mundy and Thomas are the icing on the cake when you are in the Premiership window. Players who we need to look at are 22-26 years of age or similar to Tyson who have had 2 years in the system and not getting regular game time. Pretty sure Roos and his department will be having a good look at all other lists and VFL games targetting players as he did at Sydney such as Kennedy, Mcglynn, Richards, Mattner, Mumford, Shaw and the like

SMALL MERCIES - POST MATCH DISCUSSION
Pennant St Dee replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
What is glaringly obvious in this game is how hard the Bombers players work, when they do not have the ball. Every time a players has the ball he has several options with team mates running into space, running to create holes/space and how hard they run after giving off the ball they don't just stop and admire their work -
If this season turns out how we all fear

SMALL MERCIES - POST MATCH DISCUSSION
Pennant St Dee replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
The reason we have had so many years being down is because we well and truly fooked up the rebuild, 2010 we had the right blend and from there we decided to off load older players when the younger players weren't ready to carry us through. CS & CC created drama amongst the playing group and we have been found wanting in leadership. The way I see it we started the rebuild again last season and are 1 year into it. I see us as being comparable with Richmond 2010 but we really have to get the rebuild right, I don't think we can afford any longer to draft the player who will be a gun in 3/4 years, we need to draft the ready now or trade early picks for 2 ready to go players because we need to be competitive and start showing improvement. I have actually given up on ever seeing us win a flag, I actually just want to see a season where we don't get belted regularly and go into 6-10 games with a chance of winning -
DEMONLAND PLAYER OF THE YEAR - ROUND 3
Pennant St Dee replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
6.Tyson 5.Pedersen 4.Dunn 3.Georgiou 2.Mcdonald 1.Cross -
I'm really interested to see how he responds, no doubt the footy department would have shown that and other snippets where he was failed to chase or failed to leave his opponent and sacrifice to intercept or go second man up. I have no doubt we will know where we stand with Frawley by round 7

DEVIL OF A TIME - Match Preview and Team Selection
Pennant St Dee replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
The way I am programmed now to watching us play I'll take that at the moment It's sad from hoping to seeing us win a flag All I want now is to see us being competitive and going into games with a realistic chance of winning -
as was Blease, JKH, Byrnes, Evans & Kent nothing to see here

Oh FFS I thought explaining things to my 6 & 7 year old was difficult If you leave your foot on a the accelarator the car goes at a certain speed You can apply more pressure with your foot or less If the car runs out of petrol it stops RPM?
-
A player can run around the field at teh same pace all day without accelarating but due to fantastic conditioning, fitness and ability to push through pain he can find space It's desire, heart and nothing to do with Acceleration or Speed
-
You do not need to burn off opponents to create space and hard running is about continuing to run when you are tired, namely pushing yourself. Simon Black, Pendlebury are just two players who created space because they read the play so well or they had awareness, Speed of thought and ball movement can negate speed by foot on occassion

The continuing saga of Melbourne's injury list - 2014
Pennant St Dee replied to alpha33's topic in Melbourne Demons
Try and stop ridiculous posts and I may think otherwise. I have spent months trying to figure out if you're a troll but I seriously doubt you're that smart Someone with a background in the industry has spent a great deal of time explaining something to you through this thread and you continue with stupid questions about the injuries. How does it happen in pre season etc - have you ever done a pre-season at elite level, it's a little bit different to jogging around the block, all teams have injuries, we just happen to have all our talls down at the moment. -
Finally Kingy Talks Sense - Free Agency is a Disaster
Pennant St Dee replied to rjay's topic in Melbourne Demons
Except when it comes to cheaper entry and cheaper food the AFL don't want a bar of heading down that road The AFL is killing the goose which laid the golden egg, it is happening slowly but it is happening. I know we have the record tv rights deal but the ordinary fan is struggling to get to games regularly and they are pandering to tv time slots at the fans expense. It will come back to bite eventually -
Adelaide - Depending on where they finish they may be open to trading one of Sloane or Dangerfield, Sloane yes and Danger only if they believe he may walk at the end of 2015, Brisbane - They need a replacement for Brown, I doubt Rockliff would be put on the table or Luenberger and given they may finish close to us a trad eis unlikely Carlton - This is the club who will be big time looking for KPP, but who do they have/or are likely to give who would improve our list. Collingwood - IMO it would depend on how their young players come on namely Keefe, Witts and what Jesse White shows, I would consider Sidebottom and an exchange of first round picks Essendon - Can't see them chasing any KPP'S Freo - as you suggest their eye and money will be on HOGAN, they wont offer Fyfe, Mundy may return home but I don't see it unless it to a flag contender Geelong - I think they will back their philosophy of drafting well and producing from within GC17 - They have a gun midfield and lack the forwards of GWS, Prestia and Swallow recently just signed highly unlikely but they are the two I would be asking about GWS - Dylan Shiel and their activated mid first round pick?, they may get offered a Kruezer/Yarran or someone else in exchange for Patton and may wish to get another KPP in Hawthorn - agree with you can't see them chasing a young KPP North Melbourne - agree with you I would want Ziebell and their firts round pick for pick 1 Port Adelaide - can't see it but if you don't ask you don't get, Schulz it not getting any younger, How about Ollie Wines - I know it wont happen Richmond - don't see it happening St Kilda - as you say they will be down with us so not likely to get hold of Jack Steven for Pick 1 or 2 Sydney - agree with you West Coast - they would still love a small forward and some pace through the middle and could give something with their first pick if they finish high enough for a crack at the Indigenous Jarrod's from South Freo Pickett/Garlett Western Bulldogs - I expect them to finish fairly low and wouldn't they love two picks in the top 5, put it on the plate and ask what are you prepared to give

The continuing saga of Melbourne's injury list - 2014

Does seeking medical intervention on regular occassions count for a medical qualification, if so he is qualified -
Saints round 1 & Meth Coast round 2 how can you judge that

t Wyl we showed some deficiencies in there side being to tall maybe you didn't see it we moved the ball several times very quickly to our Half forward line where through lack of movement we hit a wall went handpass crazy and turned it over. Nic Nat ran out of gas and we changed things up in the middle as you say we should have our players started reading the taps and we managed to find our own ball. They had three tall ruckman Nic Nat was the best of them, Coxy did little except provide instruction, Sinclair is still learning. They don't put the cue in the rack, they annihilate weak opposition. but that is your opinion they just stopped when they were only 6 goals up
-
Wyl who said I was happy, I have just pointed out the draft choices we made which were far worse than the one you claim was top of the pile. You keep telling me you set high standards, take that ethos into your posting
