  1. Turn it up mate, "I didn't mention Toumpas" sorry who did we take instead of Wines and if you're talking about fine players how about Rockliff have you seen him the last month we along with every other club missed out on his as well.
  2. Another reality check on the journey teams on the rebound and a week of criticism are always difficult opponents, but keep fighting boys. I hate Meth Coast more than any side but since 2007 North have been right up as a team I despise, my dislike for them has grown in the Brad Scott years
  3. Well thank you for judging me as a 6 foot 4 inches tall, homophobic drink driving, racist on what I put in previously. wait a minute whilst I put down my banjo and can of beer. As I said in my previous post the tough love approach of the previous generations needed some changes but not to the point of going to far the other way Just to shed some light on me to clear up some misgivings you may have I am the short kid nothing changes you wont grow learn how to deal with it, just get on with your life, there are some advantages I don't see myself as you put it as a nanny state sook, I am an 18 year Police veteran who has seen many deceased road accident victims and had to advise next of kin of their passing, so please don't tell me the importance of putting on a seat belt and not drinking and driving I am however frustrated at being unable to focus all my time towards assisting victims of crime and actually targeting those who need to be targeted due to ridiculous red tape, courses and other countless things which were brought in by politicians with an agenda and a lack of understanding of what the community actually wants I don't agree with sports where kids don't keep score until after the age of 12 (below 10 is fine), because it may cause some low self esteem or affect them emotionally, what is wrong with doing your best, participating and having fun. Winning isn't everything and it's part of life learning to deal with losing and not always getting what you want I don't consider myself being an [censored], racist, homophobic because what I saw yesterday did not seem over the top. Just a few things If Buckleys or any coaches players don't do what they are asked or supposed to do his neck is on the line and the team will generally suffer - if you think it's not true look at our footage over the last 7 years I would think a coach knows his players better than we do and there are different ways you would deal with each player to achieve a desired outcome. Buckleys actions yesterday had the desired effect Witts went back out and kicked 2 goals and had greater effect on the game was it luck or the fact the coach pointed out what he was doing was not good enough. So in closing thanks again for judging me and pointing out that the current climate in which we live is so wonderful
  4. I think Spirit of Norm Smith has listed 10 must get players at this stage already
  5. Seen him at Claremont Colts and junior footy in WA, stand out kid and would be a good get if something could be done. As far as rumours go, I don't think being mentioned by Demonland posters qualifies as rumours
  6. It's views like this which have us living in a nanny state, the world has gone mad with it's political correctness. All things from the 70's & 80's and before were a little bit more hard nosed with a view of tough love, whether it be sport, the workplace, school, society. Whilst I agree some changes were required we have gone way to far ended up with a generation of helicopter parents, Auskick, sterile work environments and kids thumbing their noses at the suggestion of having to walk to school.
  7. We know your thoughts on this pick and the player we took, try and disguise it any way you like. He is not ours Mods close this thread before we have 20 pages again of the debate regarding our first pick in the 2012 draft
  8. Really IMO nothing wrong with what he did, gave the player a good serve for not going hard enough. Sometimes you have to draw the line and the basic rules of management is not everything relating to criticism has to be done behind closed doors The rule is about being flexible different players respond to different methods.
  9. Unsure on the above deal and giving away our first two picks in the draft, I'd want something in return. Coniglio can play how good can he be really not sure on what I have seen of Petracca could be a very very good pick up if available at 5/6. If these boys are out of contract the first round pick is not something we should give up because Tyson was signed to a two year contract and we managed to get 9 in return. The money we would be forking out on Mundy who will be over 30, would pay for 2 good solid players. Last info I had was Rosa was keen to stay at Meth Coast and his deal was only being held up by Nic Nats deal. Rosa is a good powerful hard running mid who would be good at the right price
  10. I actually like the look of Paddy Ambrose, very athletic strong young forward at Bombers with no 2012 baggage. Not unlike the young Josh Kennedy the Hawks were trying to mould into a forward!
  11. Yes we would at least one Friday Night game every year if it was to be set in stone, always good for corporate exposure and advertising. It's why Eddie loves Anzac day and knows it is such a cash cow. I would not mind it being a regular event where we play away every good Friday against them and make it very much a Sydney (NSW) vs Melbourne (Vic) rivalry to gain more interest in the harbor city, I think the AFL would be keen on this
  12. He is a Meth Coast Supporter WA Boy played WAFL Colts for East Fremantle In no way is he linked to our club
  13. Hall finished at the Saints in 2001 and played for the Swans from 2002 to around 2008 or thereabouts. Rocket Eade was sacked as coach of the Swans during the 2002 season when Plough was contracted to take over in 2003. Roosy was caretaker coach during that and due to player & people power he got the full time gig from 2003 onwards taking them to a Prelim in his first full year
  14. Blease does not have the engine to run with Boomer who makes repeated efforts all day long, I think Dan Nicholson may have come into consideration due to his endurance, which will enable him to run with Harvey all day. Would still be surprised if there was any change
  15. I have no direct contact with Jesse but regular contact with ex teammates, school friends and other people close to the family. Very strong word pre the changeover with CEO, footy department etc that his family were not happy and with us being viewed as a basket and uncertainty surrounding the club. The view was he would not re-sign a new contract till he saw how the club was going and if there was to be changes for the better. I have been told after last year games with Casey Freo had put the feelers out but Hogan was in now way responsive to their approaches. As a closing carrot dangler or food for thought Freo allegedly mentioned they would be prepared at that early stage to be guaranteeing a figure around the $400k per season mark. My mail is since Jackson, Roos the older players and all the other changes Jesse's parents are happy with the way the club is headed and how Jesse has been looked after. I've also heard unconfirmed his parents have moved from Perth, possibly down to the south west of the state, so what does that say about any go home factor. So my take on it is all the rumour an innuendo is just the local clubs (not heard anything about Meth Coast other than media) doing their due diligence with WA born players who's contracts are up for renewal. The fact he has not signed at this stage just fuels the media but truth be known the club and Jesse have concentrated on getting him right. I think we have turned everything in our favour where to the point everything I hear now is positive towards Melbourne and how much he is enjoying it there. By all accounts very close to Viney, Toumpas, Dawes and Mitch. I'm like the rest in that I don't know what he will do and think getting out on the track is his major focus
  16. If you can lock him in for 4 years at $4-500K do it. I know people are saying we haven't seen him play AFL but lets be honest we saw his VFL form and his NAB 2013 & 14. There is a lot more than speculation about his ability we have seen what he can do. Freo will offer that or thereabouts
  17. Sorry Jumbo didn't mean to come across as a know all but a close friend has a few business interests with Pav and a couple of other former Dockers
  18. You heard wrong re the pubs, was involved but has moved on to other interests
  19. Not true sold his shares in the only pub he had in Fremantle
  20. Agree 100%, I believe he would rather have a number of quality mids than blowing the bank on an out and out gun, wasn't his style at Sydney and part of the reason why the bloods culture thrived
  21. Sounds very silly in this day and age and from a bygone era, but he actually just wants to play footy and concentrate on that. I know we hear this trundled out by player agents with such regularity but Fyfe is a simple country lad (and from someone close to him) he has no intention of leaving, he loves the club and believes they will look after him. I think he is aware there is more money available at other clubs, but he will be financially looked after by Fremantle. Funny you mention Meth Coast, I have said to a few of their supporters what you lack through your midfield is big bodies and we all know Fyfe wants to stay in WA, they would have been better served off loading Nic Nat and putting that money towards Fyfe to boost their midfield
  22. okay that is your take on it but what happened in round 1-3 and was anything raised by the opposition then. my recollection is that Carlton started the 2012 season off like a house on fire and Essendrug had started the season not exactly setting the world on fire but winning 3 games unconvincingly against 3 teams who they were expected to beat. They met in Round 4 where Carlton went in as heavy favourites having belted Collingwood the weak before and were being talked up as big flag contenders, the way they lost drew a lot of attention to Essendon's performance on that day. My view is there is a fine line between getting players fitness right and getting it terribly wrong. Players need to be bigger to play AFL but you also run the risk of making them to big and sacrificing endurance and running the risk of soft tissue injuries due to bodies being pushed to the limit. If I am correct everytime Essendon were on television in 2012 there was a lot of hype around Dean Robinson who was always referred to as "The weapon" and fools in the media like BT were feting him as a big time celebrity. There was very little said about Dank until last year. IMO the Essendon side of 2012 was no bigger or stronger than the Cats sides of that era or the Lions side of the early noughties. They pushed the boundaries and they got it terribly wrong and deserve to pay the consequences.
  23. If I was going to throw coin to the point where I was going to get any midfielder I wanted I would have to say O'Meara and/or Dangerfield would be my choices over Fyfe. You wouldn't lose with any of the three but for me O'Meara has everything and is not far off a young Chris Judd. Having said that, with the Suns being one of the AFL's lovechild's it wont happen
  24. WYL I have seen games were 3 to 4 players break limbs and this is just football. Carrazzo went to ground in a very clumsy tackle nothing to do with peptides Are you trying to tell me Essendon where superhuman to the point where they were able to break bones just by their extra strength.
  25. No he will be a Docker, they have the money and all other contracts are on hold till his is completed, so it's clear where their priorities are. A big gun may have to be sacrificed but it wont be Fyfe. Pav is to be recontracted and will be an a reduced contract which frees up a fair amount of coin
