How upset will you be if we finish bottom
Pennant St Dee replied to Pates's topic in Melbourne Demons
But Old Dee what if we win. LOL -
An idiot who has a severe lack of understanding in making choices he may be but if you could get him cheaply through the preseason draft with a contract loaded with several conditions, I would actually not mind having a look at Robinson. Hard as nails and you never die wondering, Robinson has limited ability but he is everything in his endeavours and way in which he hits the ball that has seen the likes of Sylvia, Morton, Gysberts and others never get near their best I would not rule out chasing him

Players to target at the end of the year
Pennant St Dee replied to JackVineyForPresident's topic in Melbourne Demons
and this time last year Tyson had signed for another 2 years at GWS. But if he stays he stays, pay extra it's Treloar I want of all their mids -
Gawn, Riley, Bail and Barry will survive from that group and they will all be depth, although Gawny may be Number 1 ruck by then Frawley will be either here or replaced by his compo pick or who it was on traded for So that's 11 out of 40 changes over 2 years hardly alarming or out of the ordinary with other team list changes

Training - Thursday 7th August, 2014
Pennant St Dee replied to Satyriconhome's topic in Melbourne Demons
Cheers for the updates and report Saty and Cmon the Toffees -
Agreed but there argument is shot down when they openly state players need to earn a decent living because their careers are only short Whilst that may be correct, being drafted at 20 and playing at SANFL, VFL or WAFL level training part time would enable them to complete an apprenticeship or complete the large part of a University degree/diploma, which tehy could utilise when the injury occured or the career came to an end

Agree hate them and Essendon because of the arrogant supporters I put up with as a kid in the 80's. 87 prelim put fuel to the fire, 00 GF & 04 Elimination Final more fuel and James Hird. Lost my oldest 4 seasons ago to the Pies Now the youngest has taken a vested interest in the Mustard Pots God help us

How lucky are we Chris Dawes said no to us.
Pennant St Dee replied to ashdemons22's topic in Melbourne Demons
His leadership, tackling and pressure inside forward 50 is invaluable He is not a bad kick, in fact better than I thought after his last year with the Pies Agree with others he is a number 2/3 forward and will benefit from assistance inside the forward 50 -
TMac just needs to learn he is not the anchorman who we play through from defence. As far as kep position defneders go I have no issues with him, way ahead of Glass/Mckenzie at the same stage in their careers.

Players to target at the end of the year
Pennant St Dee replied to JackVineyForPresident's topic in Melbourne Demons
No their attitude was never questioned they just couldn't break in regularly to that side Wellingham is not putting in the hard work required and on what I have seen has not been willing to work hard when he doesn't have the ball. And there are other reasons which I will leave there -
Watch Meth Coasts last 3 games vs Brisbane - very poor match and they looked very slow in ball movement and leg speed vs Richmond - poor all night and very slow all around the ground vs Adelaide certainly looked like one of the fastest teams going around It's funny but when things aren't going your way you look really slow but when you play well move the ball quick run and carry you look a lot faster. Trengove of 2010/11 never looked slow even though he never looked like he had blistering pace

Stay away from Wellingham IMO, bad news and when I seen him playing in the WAFL really poor attitude and work ethic. -
Want to get a Rising Star Nomination? Just play Melbourne
Pennant St Dee replied to Gipsy Danger's topic in Melbourne Demons
Jordan Gysberts got 2 nominations, just saying -
Debut in front of family and friends at Patersons would be nice

Simon Eishold, the miss was bad enough, but what it would have meant had he nailed it, make it worse and leave it in my memory forever. And as for the keyboard warrior comments Have played and made many many mistakes, doesn't absolve you from criticism at any level just put your hand up and acknowledge it. Once you get personal and the attacks go over the top then IMO you become a keyboard warrior

Pennant St Dee replied to Gipsy Danger's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'd rather have a player do a good solid year in and out of the side and gaining some experience and missing out and hitting the ground running for 15+ games in his second year and be ineligible. Hopefully Salem will be like that next season -
Agree with others it will be ruthless, Roos has had a good look this year and his comments of late are hinting towards as many delistings/list changes as last season at least. I'm not up an ll current contract situations so if someone is still in contract and on that list well I apologise in advance Blease Evans Terlich Byrnes - Retired Clark Retired Clisby Nicholson Fitzpatrick Strauss Mckenzie That's 10, without Frawley who will more than likely make it 11. Some on the list may be unlucky but it's a cut throat business and that is footy, on top of those 10 we are going to have to face facts others who we may be loath to lose may have to be traded. Interesting period ahead

So what do you want to do give one of those players back -
I agree somewhat Old, we could put 10 down on yesterdays performance. Bail remains because of his pressure acts inside forward 50 and to negate direct opponent. He is not there for his skills, he also remains on the team list for another year because as we evolve and move forward it's players like Bail who just come in as depth when players are suspended or injured. Jamar has been okay for the season and can run games out far better than Gawn so as far as I'm concerned for 2014 it is not a contest. Gawny still a bit away Strauss would be better by foot than Terlich, Grimes and Garland off Half Back but defensively he is a worry
-
Mckenzie out for Cross can't play both and Cross is far better Blease had your chance were okay against Port but you didn't grab the bull by the horns and seize the opportunity like Jetta has. Your card should be marked been in long enough and just wont run both ways. JKH to start in your place Tapscott on thin ice showed a bit against Port and still more upside than Blease but ruthlessness is required now so may be to late Terlich depending upon Grimes injury status may or may not stay in, caused issues again with his disposal but his effort and intercepts in the first 3/4 were okay Out: Mckenzie, Blease & Tapscott Ins: Cross, Michie & Salem

Whilst I agree with you Olisik he shouldn't have called you what he did, just goes to show drafting in hindsight is not easy. You can pay all the money you want but it's just not an exact science if it was the clubs wouldn't get any picks wrong and the phantom drafts would be very accurate. If you look at most clubs they have a list a mile long of draft mistakes, we just concentrate on ours because of our love for this club and our desire to get it right,

You can not be serious Schwab - Jackson Neeld - Roos Same club colours same name in no way are we the same side that we were in 2012/13 despite being where we currently are. Again did they get it wrong last year?

Demonland Player of the Year - Round 19
Pennant St Dee replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
He was close C & B but I think his last quarter saw him fall out a lot of errors made, whilst not totally catastrophic they stopped momentum going forward. He certainly was not in the worst 12-15 out there for us today -

Demonstrative the Blues Supporters you know unless the Pratts have no say in the running of the club, Fact is they did not want to let him go. The option came down to Judd or Kennedy -
So why do you keep referring to us screwing it up again. Neeld is gone do you have issues with our trading and picks from last year I certainly don't and I think take it as a given we have a pick in the Top 3, which is why I have put them in order of preference.
