Sorry who was in charge at the time again. Please tell me now who we should pick up this year with our first pick instead of being a hindsight genius and shoot your mouth off next year say I'll go on record we pick the best available and we will have at least 1 pick in the Top 4, possibly 2 but IMO we will trade that for a ready made Best available in order of preference Petracca Brayshaw Laverde Ahern I want one of those 4 and more than happy to trade the Frawley compensation pick if he leaves, now who should we take IYO

Players to target at the end of the year
Pennant St Dee replied to JackVineyForPresident's topic in Melbourne Demons
Not true if I recall correctly and from someone very close to Kennedy, the Blues balked at the deal as they wanted to keep Kennedy, they saw the potential and tried to work their way through a number of other scenarios none of which came to fruition. At the end of the day the deal came down to either Fev or Kennedy being traded as they wanted Judd. In the end they gave up Kennedy and kept Fev. Both clubs won out on the trade but in hindsight we all know who they would have given up now -
Demonland Player of the Year - Round 19
Pennant St Dee replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
6.Howe - nullified Zorko but also found the pill and generally used it well big positive for us in 2014 5.T Mac - should never be the sweeping player setting up rebound or playing anchorman role but he does his job as a one on one defender. 4.Jetta - continued his dominance over direct opponent and gave the dangerous Green an absolute bath 3. Jones - willed himself as usual through the second and third quarters when we really should have taken the initiative and took the game on a bit more 2. Tyson - like Jones got his hands on the pill winning the hard ball and capped it off with scoreboard pressure continues to impress me 1.Frawley - presented an option and held his marks, should have applied greater scoreboard pressure, but at least you flew the Flag in the Pedersen/Merrett incident -
Don't let common sense intervene, Bail is one of our best for forward pressure and defensive acts which are not measured outside match committee, but it's easy for posters to have him listed as an out every time we have a changes for next week thread.

That would be nice but Hanley is the one we really need to curtail, his possessions are the ones that hurt. Cut him out and we will go along way to winning today.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BILLY STRETCH
Pennant St Dee replied to e25's topic in Melbourne Demons
Fossil from what I've seen of Billy very smooth and don't think he needs to be a match for Fyfe, Barlow, Mundy, Josh Kennedy etc. I see Billy as more outside in the mould of the Hill brothers, Isaac Smith type -
GOODBYE MR. CHIP FRAWLEY
Pennant St Dee replied to JackVineyForPresident's topic in Melbourne Demons
After watching Luke Mcpharlin tonight, Frawleys value just went up again. Time has caught up with him and that yard he has lost sees his opponent getting away from him on leads and at the fall of the ball. Silvagni not good enough more depth and Taberner still a few years away If their window is to remain open for a couple more years they are going to need a defender from somewhere and they had a big tilt at Harry Taylor so they have some coin available -

Players to target at the end of the year
Pennant St Dee replied to JackVineyForPresident's topic in Melbourne Demons
Are you serious No he is not in their best 22 clearly that is why he is not playing and it has nothing to do with trying to keep the kids If I'm into drama you're either clueless in regard to footy or this is a comedy act -

OH FFS Fletch is still in the best 22 of a Top 8 side as is Boomer Bradley was in Carltons best half dozen and club captain when he finished up Tuck best 22 Premiership Captain Junior was our captain and best 22 moved on to early The comparisons are so similar to Ryan O'Keefe -
GOODBYE MR. CHIP FRAWLEY
Pennant St Dee replied to JackVineyForPresident's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yep love that excuse, we had CHOGM here in 2011 and Police from Victoria, NSW & QLD were here for 2 weeks. At the time we were in the height of the mining boom and every one I spoke to said "I don't know how you guys can afford to live in this town" The mining boom has ended but the prices have not reduced. Cost of living allowance my arse, just another AFL way of making sure the Northern experiment works. You can guarantee the AFL will continue to pump money into their two new Northern lovechilds until flags are delivered -
GOODBYE MR. CHIP FRAWLEY
Pennant St Dee replied to JackVineyForPresident's topic in Melbourne Demons
IAH it would not surprise me if he ended up at Sydney, think about the Tippett & Buddy moves, they identified from a long way out they were coming out of contract and adjusted their player re-signings accordingy to fit them in to thier cap. The moves were made with meetings/correspondence between the Swans and the players/agents. Once the season ended that was it the news came out and the footy world was shocked. Footy clubs are notorious for following leader and I think you will find it becomes a common occurence from now on in by all clubs and the leaks will become non existant, leaving the likes of Barratt, Robbo, Pierik and Denham to guess and use teh old cliche "my sources" -

SPR I accept he is picking up plenty of ball , but we have gone beyond what Byrnes and Rodan were offering, Cross, Vince, Dawes, Jamar have that. Jones has brought his leadership to a new level this season as has Dunn. Viney and Tyson will continue to grow with another preseason under their belt, sorry but for me my mail again is he has dropped off dramatically and it's nothing to do with wanting to bring through a new generation of players if that was the case Mitchell would be playing. The Swans want a flag and if O'Keefe's fitness was fine he would be playing. NEAFL is a shocking standard of footy Pass from me, when the end comes it comes very quickly. That's MO -
Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 19
Pennant St Dee replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Cross to Hanley, Mckenzie or Vince to Rockliff, I'd go Vince because Rockliff is very good over head and if he is being beaten in the middle they will throw him forward and try and isolate him with Mckenzie, although there is the option to rotate Jordie and Garlo on him depending upon where he plays. A few options for us, but it's not just about stopping those two, they are seriously dangerous at ground level in the forward 50 and have some nice speed when the ball hits the deck. Their defence is coming along nicely since the halfway point, with Patfull and Goose Maguire hitting some good form. I expect us to win but we have to bring the right attitude and effort to win this. -
Great career Shagger, always thought you were a very dangerous player at the Cats who's speed always caused opposition teams headaches. Showed professionalism at the Dees and I'm sure the fact Roos asked you stay on another year shows just what an impact your experience had on the playing group. Enjoy retirement and being able to forget counting calories and beers consumed

Players to target at the end of the year
Pennant St Dee replied to JackVineyForPresident's topic in Melbourne Demons
Where exacty is this occuring. My mail is he has almost hit a wall with his ability to impact games at AFL level and the amount of yards he has lost in pace is frightening. If we want him just for culture then he is welcome in teh footy department. -
How upset will you be if we finish bottom
Pennant St Dee replied to Pates's topic in Melbourne Demons
I've already outlined how livid I will be if we finish last, but FFS it wont be half as upset as I get everytime I hear Chris from Caufield on SEN talking about the Dees -

Players to target at the end of the year
Pennant St Dee replied to JackVineyForPresident's topic in Melbourne Demons
A decent off season without us landing one of teh big fishes in Cameron or Shiel which would be fantastic but going to be hard to get through is Free Agents nominating the Dees as their club of choice after they win 4 of their last 5 games (Lions, GWS, Meth Coast and North) to finish the season on a high. Frawley decides to stay and we end up with Pick 7ish - Brayshaw if he slips or Ahern 2nd Rounder Pick 24-7ish - best available of Gore, Vickers-Willis, Capiron or Blakely all of who I have seen live and look good. Don't think Weller or Duggan will fall this far 3rd Rounder - Billy Stretch 4th Round - Sam Bevan worth a punt has shown a bit for Claremont Colts and has a bit of swingman about him Free Agents Nick Malceski Jarren Geary I'm sure there will be some form of trades the club will also work on but don't underestimate the improvement in some of the younger players getting another pre-season from Roos under their belts namely Kent, Salem, Viney, Tyson and the Toump not to mention Trengove getting his body right. -
Don't really agree with this, Ross Lyon is only coaching at his second club, Saints balked and to secure himself financially he moved. So in hindsight we are saying he left the St Kilda list in a bad way. Where woul dthey be now with Dal Santo and Goddard still on their list. He is now at his second club and I think you will find he has been bringing a lot of youngsters through at the Dockers and has recruited the likes of Taberner and Apeness with a view to the future for when Pav and Mcpharlin depart. I think he can be judged fairly after he leaves Fremantle. Not to mention the likes of Neale, Walters and Sutcliffe who he has brought through and are devloping very well under him I also think he tied to Freo until 2017
-
Who says North want Brayshaw, apart from the family connection can't see any other reason. They have no problem with ball winners what they need is outside game breaking class
-
Think Petracca could be a good fit when you take into account Roos team at Swans who had 10-12 players who rotated through the midfield and off either Half Back or Half Forward. Petracca has shown the ability to be able to work on his tank and run through the middle

GOODBYE MITCH CLARK

Love to have him back in any capacity, the most important thing is his health, anything else is a bonus. Absolutely will never forget how committed he was to our jumper in every game he played for us. -

How am I merely hoping and don't presume to know what I think. I told you earlier in the year Meth Coast were front runners and very over rated despite our Round 2 capitulation. Turn over and go to sleep after the Essendon game, please if you call being asleep against the Dogs and Port you are back on the choof. If you are telling me Carlton, Richmond, Meth Coast, GWS, Brissy and Saints are way ahead of us, please give me a run down on their lists
