Lets just win 2 in a row to start with that would be nice It's an old cliche but this team with it's current stage in rebuilding is very much a one week at a time side

I think we need to match their midfield run, their back 6 will stay at home and will not chase players up the ground and without looking at the stats my view on them is they are not as reliant on Will Schofield and Hurn for setting up their attacks from HB like last season. With Mckenzie and Brown going down their two KPD'S are now Mcgovern and Schofield. They have players like Wellingham, Duggan and Sheppherd now setting up from HB and finding a lot of the footy and their midfield runs very deep rotating with Sheed, Yeo, Gaff, Rosa, Selwood, Ellis, Priddis, Masten & Shuey all getting a run through there and HFF. For this reason we are going to need Bail and Matty Jones to stay in and Tyson, Vince, Viney, Toumpas, Watts, Nate Jones, and Brayshaw to all play. They put numbers behind the ball and they will do this against us so IMO Dawes stays as he is important to bring the ball to ground along with Hogan and the resting ruckman, ANB, Bail, Watts, Vince, Brayshaw all to have stints in the forward line and assisting with rotations when need be. Garlett to remain forward for the game. Dunn to Darling and Mcdonald to Kennedy, Jetta to Cripps and Garland to run with Lecras. This game will be won in the midfield and we really need to break even in this contest. I think Spencer has to stay in to give Gawny a chop out, Fitxzy is a possibility with Sinclair often moving forward but I think we can stratch their defence once we keep a few of our rotating mids in there to prevent the rebound, so i am giving Spencer the nod. Howey was good bringing the ball to ground but with Hogan coming back in and Dawes being needed the FD have to decide between Howe and Stretch for me on match ups against the opposition about who joins Riley as an out. Meth Coast defenders will back themselves and peel off their direct opponent to go third man up to the contest so being predictable is something we can't afford to do, Dawes and Hogan to keep Mcgovern and Schofield busy. Priddis is going to pick up possessions he just does every week and he is in red hot form, Gaff is going to have to be shut down as he has been damaging in the last month, Masten wont hurt you but like Selwood can be vital in the chain moving the ball from the clearances inside 50. Their structures are working really well and this is a very difficult assignment, if we dont bring the same attitude as last week it will be a 6-8 goal defeat but we can back up from last week and make a real game of this, not sure on the dimensions of TIO in Darwin but I am hoping it is a good bit wider than Subaico which is a long but narrow ground. A nice bit of width could allow us to isolate Mcgovern and preventing him floating across packs similar to what Oxley did on QB Cmon Dees back up from last week and don't rest on our laurels MFC vs Meth Coast B: Garland,McDonald, Jetta HB: Cross, Dunn, Lumumba C: Toumpas,Tyson, Viney HF: Watts,Dawes Brayshaw F: Garlett, Hogan, Spencer FOLL: Gawn, N Jones, Vince I/C: Stretch/Howe, M Jones, Bail, Neal-Bullen Out: Riley and either Stretch or Howe

Post Match Discussion - Round 12 (never in doubt)
Pennant St Dee replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Agreed he was desperate and his chase was just many of the 1%ers which can make a difference, Means a hell of a lot more than flashing in and out of the game. Really happy with WATTS last 3 weeks just keep it coming -
Been waiting for this ever since 2009 or 10 when they beat us down there and after the game the Cats were singing the song and James Kelly was yawning and pretending to be asleep never have I forgotten the contempt and disrespect he showed us that day. Pit the fooker wasn't playing today

Demonland Player of the Year - Round 12
Pennant St Dee replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Great Team effort 22 contributors 6.Vince 5.Gawn 4.Dunn 3.Garlett 2.Jones N 1.Viney Unlucky to Brayshaw & Tyson -
Doesn't make sense we have 13 days break between games after we play Geelong, if he plays he takes their best defender, so if he misses this week the general soreness line is BS

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ This is one of the most important points most Demonlanders wallowing in pity and "the why always us " culture fail to understand. Our drafts in the early to mid 2000's along with the early moving on of leaders left us a massive void which we are struggling to fill. The future leaders now appear to be there in Viney and Brayshaw but they are AFL babies and a long way off taking this mantle. Get your house in order as Cats, Swans and Pies do and the end result is the transition from leadership group and young players not being constantly expected to carry the weight of expectation and the hardest tag. You may drop down for a rebuild but it will only be for 3 possibly 4 years not like the 9 pushing 10 we have had.

I know it is difficult to get it through your head and it has been for the last 3 seasons but we will not be getting a PP FCS what is so difficult about this for you to register -
Frawley FA Compensation enabled us to not have to choose between Petracca & Brayshaw

Gifted but bad attitude -
Agree with others as I would have Whitfield over Kelly but wouldn't say no to either at the right price. Also would be keen on Carlisle if the asking price wasn't to great but it will be due to the fact KPT'S are a rare commodity and Bombers aren't the easiest to deal with. I would be looking at Carlisle as a defender as opposed to forward, think with he at CHB and TMac at FB we would have a nice backline in the years ahead

I have seen a bit of the Sold Outs at East Perth this season and have to say I have been shocked at the decline in Scott Lycett since last season. HE is always written up as doing well in the WAFL but these articles are written by lazy journalists (which Perth has an abuncdance of) who don't attend games and just review stats at games end or they aren't paying attention. In the games when Lycett has played well he has played as a big power forward which he can get away with at WAFL level. The last game I went to against West Perth, Paul Johnson played leading ruck and it was Jarrod Oakley-Nicholls who played the pinchiting role, whilst Lycett remained forward, he looks to have bulked up a fair amount and it seems to have really hampered his mobility, his turning circle is massive and would see him as a liability at AFL level. Sinclair at Meth Coast is not bad and I see a fair amont of improvement in him

Demonland Player of the Year - Round 10

Cross was our loose man in defence -
He was played on Sidebottom who had no influence and along with Vince's job on Pendlebury was one of the main reasons we got the upper hand in the midfield

6. Vince - was superb negating Pendles and going the other way 5. Jones - along with Vince one of the main reasons we won the midfield contest 4. Brayshaw - as above so important love the kid is just a footballer and something we should have been drafting year in year out 3. Cross - Played the lose role so well and cut off many Pie attacks and provided outlets 2. Viney - loved his tenacity and run, so important along with Vince, Jones, Brayshaw and Vanders (First half) in us getting on top through the middle 1. Toumpas - shut out Sidebottom and barring a few skill errors was very important in shutting out one of the Pies weapons Apologies to Gawn and Watts, Howey fell away in second half so misses out for mine -
Never ever blame the umpires for defeat IMO every thing evens itself out over a game, they make mistakes like players but we don't know what they see, we can guess but we do not know for sure. I saw the Sinclair goal for the out on the full off Tmac, which wasn't a free, I saw us get the free kick inside 50 for Jesse White taking out Howe's legs IMO not a free, I saw us get a free for Hogan's legs being out when one of the Pies players was actually pushed into the contest again IMO not a free thought Dunn was also stiff with the holding free against Cloke right at the death in the 3rd that really killed us but you have to be balanced. We gave them 13 goals from turnovers and there were also times when our players made decisions to try and mark both inside our defensive 50 and also between the arcs when the smarter thing to do was to knock the ball out and start again. Our players will develop this instinct as they become more experienced. We as a team just have to worry about what we can control umpires are always going to make mistakes both ways and we have no control over that, sort out the turnovers and continually do the 1%ers and start again and we will give away a hell of a lot more goals

Was at the game yesterday with my Collingwood son and after red eye flight back to Perth I thought we both came away relatively happy with yesterdays result. and before you start Wyl no I don't have lower standards than you. Lot to like from yesterdays game and nothing in yesterdays result which can't be ironed out as confidence and experience in the game grows. I could almost guarantee Roosy didn't tell the players to just bomb the ball into our forward 50m and clearly if it was to be a tactic then the forwards would have been told to attack the contest with ferocity or a forward would have been told to peel off and man up on Oxley. So it's one or the other which wasn't carried out by the players. The boys will become more composed and back themselves to take the game on and back themselves to start hitting targets inside 50 rather than bombing it in. We will commit a lot less turnovers and sure even yesterday if we halved the turnovers we win the game. Lot to like about our younger players who stood up as others have said the likes of M Jones, Bail, Mckenzie, Terlich etc are being replaced by better players and I can finally see we are heading somewhere as a team. Without dwelling on the past this is where we should have been around 2012 but we made such a hash of the rebuild we have had to start again. Really struggling to think of a player we have brought in under the new FD who hasn't shown potential or made some impact. Brayshaw - just a footballer and a competitive beast, has the desire to run hard put his body on the line and just makes smart decisions Viney - as above without the bigger size but a born leader just going to continue to develop TMac - absolute stinker early and got pants by a player who when he is on is unstoppable, came into it a bit more when moved but whilst his confidence was down he never shirked the issue, Seen enough of him to know he will make it Hogan - though he was good early whenever the ball went in and gave strong contest, would have liked to see him give away a free kick in the second half to make Oxley second guess himself. Still has really good work rate but very little impact. No worries with him he is a club changer and we just have to keep him above everything else Vandenburg - love him so strong at the clearances and thought it effected us when he went down Toumpas - good day still had a few skill errors but learning to understand he belongs and did a fantastic job on Sidebottom Fitzy - made an absolute howler and those calling for his head are amplifying that, got the better of White through the day and IMO moving forward wont be best 22 but is certainly going to provide decent depth for our defenders Gawn - destroyed Grundy at the tap outs and was vital at us taking control at the clearances and through the middle. Needs to work on that tank and impose himself around the ground, Grundy was far more influential around the ground, but the blueprint is there and plenty to work with Watts - was good yesterday by just being honest, didn't like the dropped mark which resulted in an end to end goal but play like that every week Jack that is all we ask After the 2010 cleanout we are now getting the right balance between older and younger players on the list and our players have the right environment to develop as other clubs have had.

What is embarrassing is you do not understand what Fitzy did was a throw, every day of the week. Kicking is allowed in footy and if you are under pressure you can put the ball through by any legal means available

I'll be in Victoria next week tossing up heading down to Simmonds to see Vic Metro vs Vic Country as I will miss Metro when they come to Perth. Will see how Sunday pans out with the family -
If he maintains his form he(Hogan) will win it and Gus will be pushing for a nomination soon. Hogan was better last week but that's the AFL playing catch up. On this weeks effort the 3 Crows Lever, Kelly and Matt Crouch are unlucky

Claremont are not the side they were although you can see them building again with a very nice set of players who were not drafted coming through and building good WAFL careers. I think it is more a case of what Petrovski-Seton showed in those games, it was to good not to give him a run.
