A no from me at this stage especially with his lack of pressure. Great highlight reel but seen the AFL listed and former AFL defenders work him over to easily on several occasions. Would consider a very late pick or rookie if anything

No names, but my information is that you're off the mark here with some who were involved in the decision process. I'll trust my source and the info provided. They involved were fully aware and exposed to it over many years The penny was never going to drop with Jack at MFC. Tough decision needed to ne made and it was

Cheers for your efforts and being a solid servant to the club in some very dark times Garlo!

I miss no point I understand how football club runs, the lists get turned over. I don't live in la la land trying to dream up conspiracy theories on why poor Jack is being "kicked out of the club" as some are saying. The fact Jack is still allegedly saying he doesn't know why he's up for trade speaks volumes and confirms to me the club is making the right decision. There is nothing more to it, I've outlined the plain and simple reasons why he is being put up for trade.

Are you serious, you of all people should know it's a ruthless business and tough decisions need to be made. You have been going on for as long as I can remember about Melbourne being soft and excepting mediocrity. Any father will come out and support their child. I wish Jack well but I want a ruthless team who will do whatever it takes to win a flag and leaving no stone unturned. Clarrie knuckling down after his off season incident is a prime example of what's expected. Say what you like Jack didn't come back from the off season as required, that is not up for debate. Many on here are coming up with conspiracy theories on here which is ridiculous. Jack is being traded because of himself, nobody else. He's had numerous chances and it comes down to 1. Has Jack got the best out of himself - no 2. Has Jack left no stone unturned to fulfill his potential - no 3. Has Jack made himself an untouchable - no 4. Does Jack have trade value - yes 5. Does Jack do the non negotiables week in week out - no 6. Is it likely Jack will reach a higher ceiling if he remains at Melbourne - no 7. Will Jack perform well at another club - highly likely but it's irrelevant to us once he leaves

The kid is a competitor and whilst he's not as hard at the contest and as strong on the inside in congestion as Sam PP he has more explosiveness. From a young age he'd stood out for his drive, good physical attributes and desire to get the best out of himself. Lacks real polish but will be one who in a couple of years could be a David Mundy type

^This^ I think further offers will come in this week and no doubt questions have been asked but Lions current asking price is a little high

How does that work, one is a multiple AA whilst the other put one really good season together. It's like comparing Dean Cox to Jamar -

All i will say is the club (despite many deelanders liking to think are amateurish specifically over the Watts scenario) are very forward thinking and post Neeld are are extremely professional. Contingency plans are in place for both options. They may not bare fruit but all options are being explored -
Like the Lyon, Connolly and Schwab boys club

I believe we are already all over this and plan B is already being worked on. -

Pretty good assessment DA I agree with your top 3 but would have 4. De Goey 5. Weller I see a fair bit of Freo living over here and think they have both Weller and Blakely coming nicely. Blakely is going to be an inside beast. De Goey has some X factor about him and a decent player who will become a goal kicking mid -
You don't need to watch the game again. Richmond put the ball inside forward 50 at the earliest opportunity in the first half. There was very little precision delivery. They played to their strengths never kicking to a one on one unless a bad match up was identified (Dusty vs Brown). The balls in were kicked to space or to large packs where Richmonds small forwards swarmed to the grounded contest. On all occasions Townsend did whatever it took to prevent Lever intercept marking. It was an obvious game plan and with the corridor being cut off and Rance rebounding everything the Crows back half were under seige. Dusty spent most of the first half drawing pressure from 2 to 3 players before feeding off to outside runners. The second half when the Crows were dead and Richmond had all the run is when the skills improved in terms of delivery but that was down to lack of pressure. We don't have the players in our forward 50 to play this way and Watts would be obsolete in this set up

Brayshaw Scully Oliver Viney Hannan all had immediate impact with us. Sam PP had immediate impact with Port last year Its a gamble with all picks no matter where they are taken
-
B: Jetta Omac Hibberd HB: Hunt Frost Lever C: Brayshaw Oliver Vince HF: Trac Hogan Melksham F: Garlett Tmac ANB R: Gawn Viney Jones I/C: Tyson Lewis Hannan Salem

I heard that but wasn't it them discussing an SMS they had received asking if they'd heard the rumour
-
Bernie - did exactly what he was brought in to do and even added a Bluey to that Melksham - very consistent 2nd half of the year with some very important goals looks good at this stage Hibberd - absolute win Oliver - traded up to beat the Bombers to him - win win and win Lever - see my post in the Lever thread as to the benefits of this trade to our team

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever

Welcome to the club Jake On first glance looked like overs giving up first-round pick next year but a few things when viewing the deal in its entirety. 1. The defence just improved dramatically with a) biggest deficiency - namely lack of intercept marker to rebound is now covered b) Hibberd no longer has to float across as third man up and can now provide greater attacking penetration with his ball use c) The domino effect with Lever and Hibberd reduces the accountability on Hunt and allows him to run and carry more d ) Bernie Vince can now solely be used at what he now does best when match ups require it -Tag 2. The deal getting done early is clearly showing we are not done yet and have other moves in the pipeline 3. With the anticipated 2nd rounder coming for Watts we will have 3 x 2nd rounders. 4. I susect we will give up 2 of those 2nd rounders to get back into the 1st round. 5. I also suspect Kent and/or JKH and a change of picks somewhere will be part of the Balic deal -
2017 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch

I wouldn't mind getting Oscar Allen with a pick in the 20s. Not a KPF but the kid has desire to learn and ability to build a tank which I see him eventually developing into a big bodied mid wjo moves forward as a forward threat -
Or those shocking second and third rounders like Fevola Ablett Jnr Boomer Michael Braun Neville Jetta Sloane Enright Montagna Sam Mitchell
-
And 100% of them have no say in the matter
