  1. Wow! Really? A real life bookie? Must be the truth then.
  2. It's great to have such an aim. But we have a very, very long way to go. Especially bold coming from one of the bottom ranked Victorian teams who as little as 6 months ago were in complete disarray. I'm have no problem aiming high though.
  3. No way. I want a flag. But not at any cost. I don't think the flag should be taken away from West Coast. If anyone can prove that the drugs they were on were performance enhancing then I might take a different view.
  4. True. We are a long way away from being out of the woods yet. Hence selling games to Darwin. Still,we are no where near how bad we were 5-10 years ago. It's not like we would be giving up the rights every year. Just every second year. I don't like the idea of playing another team on Queens birthday. The rivalry with Collingwood goes back a long way. We just need to re-stoke it a little bit. Poaching some more of there staff would be a good start.
  5. Honestly. Its time we share the Queens birthday match. 'Thanks very much for letting us have in for the past 15 years. But we are back on our feat now.' It would be great to hear that from the club. Especially as Eddie is holding it over us like a bully.
  6. Did they? How do you know that?
  7. Ha! I bought one of those fancy new smart phones the other day. Still having a hard time getting used to posting with the small touch screen keys. My first two posts with it have had some shocking spelling and grammar mistakes.
  8. It seems pretty clear to me that Neeld had massive input in picking Taggert at 36. From media articles written when he was first appointed Mark Neeld got advice from Malthouse to be involved with everything in the first 12 months at the club. Neelds speech at the AGM reflects that he had a big say in picking Taggert.
  9. That's right. He is out of contract. They should have offered a longer contract. I actually think this article is a beat up. There are no quotes from any officials. There are no names mentioned on who exactually is upset. The linking of Leigh Brown to add to the claim is a very long bow to draw. And finaly but most importantly, the article is written by Jay Clark.
  10. I'm glad its only till next year. I reckon the club has got a person in mind who is contracted till then. I can see Neeld being heavily involved again. I wonder how many kids will email him this year?
  11. Am I right in saying that we can re-negotiate the terms of this years contract as well? Means we can reach our 100% salary cap this year and save later? When does Jamar become a vet?
  12. I didn't mean Sam in particular. If any players miss a game because they are late in the main season I will be pee offed big time. I didn't use it as a excuse. It was what happened. I haven't been late in the 5 years I've been at my job. I called my boss as soon as I can and let him know I would be late. He didn't even ask why because he knew that if I was genuinely late I would have a good reason. I doubt very much that Neeld suspended Sam without listening to why he was late. He obviously determined that it was not good enough or that Sam has a bad track record on timing. Good on him. If the policy is a suspension no matter what the excuse then I would be a little worried. What if we make round 1 of the finals and a truck crashes and Brent Moloney gets stuck in traffic? Would you suspend him for the final? Would you say to Brent 'Tough [censored]. It is your job to be there on time. Take measures to ensure you never miss an alarm, or get up in time or allow enough travel time.'
  13. Accidents happen. Im always early to work but this morning found out that my girlfriend had unpluged my phone charger to use her hair dryer. as such my phone battery died and my alarm didnt go off. I very late. [censored] happens. im annoyed that we dont get to see him this week. ill be spewinh if it happens in the main.season
  14. The point that annoys me regarding people's view on Clark is that he is not worth the money we have paid. I think it is fair to say that Clark has been 'good ordinary player' based on his past few seasons. No doubt we are overpaying based on what he has produced as a forward so far. We needed a big forward who could take a contested mark and create a contest. We had to overpay to get him to the club. But the part that others forget is that Clark is 25 years old, 200cm tall. He will be coming into his prime right now. If other talls are a guide he will be a lot better in the next few years than what he has displayed so far. Most football fans don't seem to understand that he has not yet peaked.
  15. This is taken from a brisbane bigfooty thread on their potential first round team. B: Adcock Merrett McGrath HB: Patfull Maguire Hanley C: Redden Rockliff Raines HF: Lester Brown Green F: Banfield Karnezis Sheldon R: Leuenberger Black Rich INT: Hudson Polkinghorne O'Brien Sub: Beams I think we will win by about 25points. We have beaten them at the G for the last few years, even when we were hopeless. Their mid's will make it hard for us. Redden, Rockliff, Black and Rich will take it to us. Their defense is B grade. Whilst I really like Banfield, Brown is the only forward who could win it for them. I wonder if Neeld will try Seller on him first? If the rumours of Browns fitness are true then Frawley will be the only one capable of stopping him.
  16. Nice write up WJ. I can't wait either. Although I would much prefer a normal match rather than this shortened game version.
  17. I really like it. It would have been really hard to create a song that sounded good now and fit in with the classic football songs. I think they have done an amazing job. Such a shame its for such a [censored] team.
  18. Essendon don't have any currency. They have Danniher as a father son pick who is rated as high as Viney is. They will be forced to use their first round pick on him. The only way will be if they lose a star to GWS and receive compensation.
  19. I was spewing that we picked up Gysberts instead of this guy. I was so stoked to see him fall to our next pick. I think he is naturally a forward. Problem is that we have a lot of players demanding a spot in the forward line at the moment. I'm hoping he will be able to play forward/mid much like Sylvia does. I'm not expecting much from him at the start of this year due to his limited pre-season. I hope Misson can sort out these injury problems that so many of our youngsters keep having.
  20. I don't think Mark Neeld gives a damn about the past 13 years. That's what I like about him. I love that Schwabby gets so involved and likes to drone on about our proud history. But I want the coach to be 100% present and future. Brad is getting on. He needs to start focusing on his own game. He will be fighting for his spot this year. We have lots of mid size forwards.

I reckon Timmy Harrington and Mark Neeld have already decided what/when the picks will be used.

I don't think that anyone was expecting an announcement on who it would be. A couple of words from Schwab would have been nice. eg 'we are in the final stages of a sponsorship deal' Not that I really care too much. I have faith that we have something in the pipeline.
