On face value, I would voted for him to resign just to purely get some respite from the media. There is no doubting in my mind he has many enemies and this attracts the vitriol thrown at the club. Sure he's helped wipe the debt and done many other good things with the sponsor issues (or was he just lucky) but it's time to start fresh at the corporate level as well.

If we had finished in the top 4 this year and looked threatening then I could probably live with some level of disciplinary action handed down from the AFL. The NRL Storm situation comes to mind. Mitch Clark will be so hungry and as long as his foot heals 100% I expect a great year with support from Dawes. He's a proven AFL player that's getting a little long in the tooth. If anything, he's bound to create competition for spots in the seniors and that is a good thing.

That's an interesting and unfortunate question. I don't know how the AFL compensate clubs following the death of a player.
