  1. According to your stance WYL, it would be tanking. Or has it changed? You've always maintained we're guilty and should take whatever form of sanctions that come our way. Have you changed your position on this?
  2. I've always remembered Clackline for a rickety old wooden bridge I had to negotiate on the way to Kalgoorlie. That was before they updated it with the current new concrete type.In the future, I hope to relate (and I hope others do too) the town of Clackline with a great footballer named Dean Kent.
  3. http://www.melbournefc.com.au/tabid/7415/default.aspx?newsid=152116 Not a good injury for our young captain. Will require some careful management.
  4. This is more an exercise in identifying leadership as Misson alluded to by mentioning it would be about the players testing their resolve. Deprived of all the mod cons they're used to, placed into a foreign environment and pushed very hard will break a few of the boys I'd imagine. The blokes that shine during the 9 days I expect to be part of the leadership group for next year.
  5. Well Rusty doesn't speak for everyone on this board. Reply accordingly mate.
  6. Ron, I'm relying on the training reports. I made that comment due to the similarities in playing style and potential role and to be honest a fair bit of it is assumption on my behalf.
  7. Forgive me me not seeing the relationship between my post and you insinuating I see him as a superstar. You're hardly comparing apples with Joel Mac. Lost me again.
  8. Yeah this is the bloke who won the B&F for the colts this year. It seems everyone bar the selectors ( and possibly yourself) for that team was going WTF!? Moving forward into next year, I really think Kent and Taggert will be serious rivals for a spot in the 22.
  9. If we hadn't have traded like we did this year and pick up guns like Viney and Toumpas I have no doubt we still would have improved. Our lack of fitness was a major factor as was the new style of play which had a direct bearing on behavioural change. We will have 18 months of knowledge to take into rd 1 next season and a significantly improved fitness base. Couple this with the obvious player improvements over this trade and draft period I'm very confident of a much better showing next year. Of course, that will be proportionate to the rest of the competition.
  10. Thanks mate - I rarley check the HS online. Big Warren is all over it you'd have to say.
  11. Did anyone else hear the report that Warren Tredrea has told Port to stay well clear of Jurrah or was I hearing things on the tele this morning..??
  12. Now that we have Dawes, Pedersen and Hogan on board, I'm wondering how big Fitzy must be feeling? If he doesn't get some game time next season and if (all going to plan) the combo of Dawes and Clark is effective and with Hogan a bloody good chance of playing senior footy from Rd 1 2014, it must be leaving Jack feeling a little anxious about his career at the Dee's. Can anyone give an insight to how he's been training and if he's still got the potential to claim a spot in the team?
  13. That was more of a confidence issue that game but it has remained (in many supporters eyes) as the catalyst for his continued downward spiral in form and injury.
  14. Exactly, Clint. We really only have one true ruckman (Jamar) with some considerable game time at AFL level. If ever we need a sound contingency/succession plan it's in the ruck division.
  15. Yeah that may be right but the thing which really disappoints me is that he couldn't even thank the club for those efforts you've outlined above. Poor form.
  16. Can't this be changed to a "Final comment on Jurrah" thread?
  17. I simply cannot see what on-field value he offers the team going forward. Sadly, he is past it and I can't understand what type of role Neeld might think he can play. OP and other Davey supporters are clutching at straws.
  18. Young bloke, huge expectation, hell first year as co-captain with regards to external issues impacting and adding further scrutiny to his performance, new coach and game plan that played him in a defensive forward role as part of a development KPI with which the coach sang his praises on many occasions for achieving set KPI's. Cosidering all of the above, I rated Jacks efforts this year as pretty admirable and have little doubt he will really impose himself upon games next season.
  19. I went for Smithy's screamer. Fingers crossed.
  20. In: Rodan, Byrnes Out: Moloney, Gysberts On top of this we will have fitter players more attuned to the game style. Whilst it may not result in a well-oiled midfield, I doubt there's any chance there will not be improvement. These new recruits will impact next season. Viney's already had a year in the system and Toumpas is all class.
  21. Yeah. I'm assuming it has to do with the stereo-typical Giant character. Fe-fi-fo-fum, they can stick their club up their...
  22. Has anyone mentioned the bald-headed clowns that dress as monks and act half-cut drunk behind the goals at GWS games? Them, I loathe.
