It's because it's more difficult to delete text on an iPad. I will make more of an effort in the future so we can all avoid your sarcasm. -
The end of 'bruise free' football at the MFC
McQueen replied to Ron Burgundy's topic in Melbourne Demons
I honestly think there is far too much intelligence and footy knowledge within the current football department that they will bring a dud game plan and fail to develop players. The improvement next season will be astonishing. -

Top job, FNQ Demon. -
The size of his pupils says it all, DC. Red eye or not the evidence is clear and the caption apt.

A work colleague of mine who also a WAFL Colts umpire goes to the same gym as Kent does here in WA. Said he was flogging himself in there the (Friday) night after being drafted rather than celebrating. Says he's a real hard worker. -
Viney by a country mile.
-
Maybe that was Wines throwing Toumpas over his shoulder?
-
Give it to and re-name it the Jack Viney award.

Was me. Unfortunately it was just as he was boarding so I didn't get to ask any questions. Can't imagine he would've told me the truth anyway.
-
Err... Straight thru to the keeper?

Neeld has taken the club in the direction the game has been going for the last few years which is high defensive work ethic that requires strong bodies. Players like Gysberts and Morton were excess to the clubs requirements and did not support the the coaches style of play.

I just bumped into Todd Viney this morning at Perth airport as I was seeing some family off. Shook his hand and congratulated him on his efforts with the recruiting. Don't know why he was over here. Go Dee's. -
Yep.

Can't believe the dogs passed on him. I mean fair dinkum. A top young kid, I hope he does really well at the Power. They need all the help they can get.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JIMMY TOUMPAS
McQueen replied to Demanding Success's topic in Melbourne Demons
And don't you just want to spew to think he went to 17 and was picked up by the pies. -
Go and have another cone.
-
He will fire next season just like many of the other players. I have high hopes for '13 and look forward to witnessing a massive turn-around.

What's the ratio of outside to inside mids in a team anyway? Does such a thing exist? Surely the mix of a team is directly reflective of a coaches game plan and overall strategy. When looking back on Baileys tenure the general sentiment is that the team was built from drafting fleet-footed offensive players. Now after one season from Neeld, supporters are concerned about having too many inside, contested types. Neeld has spoken of his preference of grunt. Whether he has the right mix for his next phase of the clubs strategy by including another grunt midfielder following Viney or if now is the right time for a Toumpas who knows. I've been leaning towards Wines for the last few months but with the latest rumours suggesting GWS passing on him it makes the decision that much harder. Does Wines have capacity to play outside? Does Toumpas have the capacity to play inside crash and bash? Tough decision but at least this time around I have total faith in the recruiters to make the right call.

New Year's resolution for Demonland posters
McQueen replied to satyricon's topic in Melbourne Demons
My young bloke has just turned 3 years old. While he can't sing the club song yet, when I do ask him which footy team he barracks for he'll scream "Demons!" And that's a pass in my book. -

It was certainly sold that way by some people. -

The expectation of Watts was to be that pack splitting monster we all dreamt about - not the rebounding defender he's basically playing now. For that reason, JW will always be more closely scrutinised for his efforts in the air or over the ball. Birchall has never had that. Watts has had courageous plays. I don't believe it's a problem with his ticker but more one of confidence.
