  1. Birchall never had the burden of expectation as being a future champion KPF, nor has he done anything remarkable in-so-far as being a key rebounder full of the confidence you would get from playing in a top 4 side. Watts time will come as the Dee's become a more disciplined and skillful side. IMO, (and given he his a few years younger than Birchall,) he will surpass GB as a more skillful and courageous player.
  2. I think one thing is certain provided Wines is drafted. If there is a scrap and one of them is in it, the other will not be far behind carrying flying the flag. These two are already capable of holding their own in that regard. I realise that some of the other threads speak about how O'Rourke might be a better option given his perceived superior skills but, the idea of hard as nails onballers, stoppage specialists, ferocious tacklers and fearless competitors just really floats my boat. I would be a very happy Dee's supporter to see these two young men both wearing the Red and Blue next season and feeding off one-another. Who is the better player? I'm not sure. But the two of them together will foster a culture of high performance that Neeld is striving for. Neeld knows that and it is why I'm convinced we will take Ollie Wines at #4. Ed: for the purposes of a mixed metaphor/analogy of which I should have known better.
  3. Just like he's had a few pies on the go recently.
  4. Oh, he can't kick - at all? His kicking needs to improve, no doubt . He is already a real find justified by his 3rd placing in the BnF. Give him a break.
  5. "It's all the same, 6 dozen of one, half of another"
  6. Looking forward to him giving Reiwoldt another bath this year. Quietly confident he'll add a few more scalps as well. Rawlings must work hard on his rebounding and make sure his possessions count. His clangers last year were a by-product of a lack of confidence or probably more composure. Very happy to hear him talk about wanting to add the weight/muscle bulk but still remain fleet footed. He's got a big frame, big tank and long arms and has tremendous potential to be a real key defender fo many years to come. Also I think it should be mentioned that the new coaching group should be given a fair amount of credit for the development of young Tom. Looking forward to another big step forward this next season.
  7. C'mon everyone. I think it's time we laid all our eggs on the table.
  8. "We'll burn that bridge when we get to it."
  9. Maybe that was their intention in an effort to make it go away. "Yes we did this poorly. Going forward, measures x, y and z have put in place to eliminate any confusion or conjecture about......."
  10. Not even appearing in the rear-view mirror. Moving forward, old dee.
  11. Steve McQueen would be there.
  12. I do believe he has a much better chance of achieving said success with the current FD driving behaviours. I don't doubt his talent completely but more his application and ability to become consistent. We wait and see.
  13. Really? Personally I think this is the most outrageous comment on this thread so far. I would however love to be proven wrong.
  14. Bagging out on your past club would not bode well for being picked up by another.
  15. Yeah. The beer tastes so much better afterwards.
  16. I'm already looking forward to Hogan playing after a year in the system more than Viney. Hogan will be very imposing once that muscle has a bit of definition to it. Bit like Patton I guess. Gee we're looking at having some real tough youngsters coming through.
  17. I would imagine that Bater is more frustrated than the other delisted players given the fact the Dogs were keen last year. Neeld obviously saw a role in the team for Bater the ultimately he could not hold down. I'm fairly certain he will picked up by another club but unsure if the Dogs are still sniffing. Thanks for the service, Bater. The coach has made the right decision.
  18. Maybe he'll get some of that 'Shin-boner' sprit and become a really good player.
  19. Can someone please explain what a 'run around the Tan involves' for this interstate Demon.
  20. Dr Karl says it won't. I believe Dr Karl. Dr Karl grew up as a Dee's supporter.
  21. This isn't friendly banter? We have to be careful old dee.... This on it's way to morphing into a Jack Watts bashing thread.
  22. Hogan is already 20 kilos heavier than Cook. Apples and oranges. Watts can play the game but just needs an injection of in him. You're not entirely wrong but almost 100% negative.
