  1. And if you miss that there's always Whately on Monday morning
  2. None of them can match our boy Ando's 0-6 record 💪🏼
  3. I wish ppl would ease up on the Blues. They aren't the only ones tanking for Harley!
  4. Given what was on the line and where the Blues are supposedly at on paper....that has to go down as the softest loss of the season so far surely
  5. They usually get kid glove treatment though
  6. As a movie star i thought you'd be focusing more on your 'lines' Steve
  7. Is it just me or is Hodgy a bit OTT with almost always expecting 'Perfect' accountability from defenders & such?
  8. Friends in high places always helps DC We need to remember that the likes of the Cats, Pies, Hawks and Bombers have had a couple of successful eras over the decades. Success breeds more followers. Some of those in high / influential positions and the networks around them & down the line as many jump on the band wagon. Even into and around those who are influential at AFL level & back the other way into the political sphere. We had 5 decades in the wilderness. I'll let you join the dots as to who is likely to benefit the most under both scenarios. We are coming from a long way behind in this regard.
  9. We have a chance to get back to our 2021 best imv and potentially make a PF but Goody has to make a few hard calls in the next few weeks and come out of the buy with a relatively settled line up. There's been a few nice additions to the team since that season. Namely McVee, Chandler and Hunter. Personally i don't think we can run with all three. With the return of Salem i can't see how we can keep all three of Gus, Hunter and him in the side. One of them has to make way imv. 2021 saw Gus on the non-Langdon wing. Would like to see Gus trialled here this week with Hunter out. I love what McVee has brought so far, but compared to our best 2021 flag team, his inclusion means that Petty is pushed out to make way. This means Petty plays as a forward but also results in Lever taking the 2nd oppo TF which takes away our best intercept defender. Places additional pressure on May as he's getting less chop out spoils from Lever and Lever grabbing less marks. The ball's hitting the deck more often or getting pinned inside 50 at ground level more often. Regardless it has to be one of McVee or Bowey if Petty/Disco are played in defence in order to free Lever. You can't have both. If Goody insists on playing Petty forward then IMV Disco is a must addition to free up Lever. If the FD doesn't believe Disco is ready, then they need to send Petty back again. The other two missing cogs.... Petty back = BBB in Macca & JVR to fight it out for the 2nd KF role. We also only ran with one crumbing small forward in Kozzy meaning we had an extra rolling through the middle and pushing forward....Harmes. Chandler out for Harmes. I'm not saying any of the above is the panacea but if the bulk of the above are as good or better (in terms of form) as they were in 2021.... why wouldn't you go back to the very best combo we've had in the last 3 seasons? At least trial it for 4 to 5 matches anyway. See if the team improves/ settles. Then some minor fine tuning from there.
  10. I would like to wager Dan (or whoever's in power at the time) will miraculously still manage to find a bit of spare change for their favourite big Vic clubs at some point from here when asked though Mr Leg.
  11. Probably a fair % is this. Lack of pressure from forwards inside our 50, especially Kozzy & Chandler. Clarry's contribution at pressuring inside 50 is usually pretty significant from memory. Harmes in might offset this loss somewhat. Fairly ordinary at defending the CBs till now. Some players giving their best here like Viney but one is not enough and he doesn't have the foot speed to pressure the speedsters on exit. Others will really need to step up at CB with Clarry out. Although his defending at CBs (of late) has been ordinary as well, so any step up should see a fair improvement. Clarry's defending / pressure around the ground has been up there though for mine. So at CBs and around ground stoppages, we'll need to see better defensive work from the likes of Sparrow & Harmes this week if we're to come away with the chocolates. Add to this the fact that we still haven't freed Lever up into playing his usual role as our best intercept defender. See how this week goes but if that back line doesn't click so well i reckon we seriously need to consider getting Disco in, at least until Petty returns, so we can get Lever back to his best role.
  12. This ^ Chandler & Kozzy need to do what they do best, mostly inside 50. In particular, significant Kozzy minutes in the middle has had very little impact the last two weeks. Eg; He had 7 CB attendances for one tap 'receive and and give' for one clearance against the Hawks. That was it! Zero impact at 6 other artendances. No tackles, virtually no pressure on opponents. Nada! If i see him there beyond a couple this week i'll spew up! Get to dangerous places, crumb or find targets. Pressure the hec outta Freo's defenders and none of this loose fold back zone nonsense that we've been seeing the last few weeks. Makes it far too easy for the oppo to transition deep into our 50 when these two go missing here and play to the flimsy loose FB zone. The Pies will murder us if we bring this method on KB.
  13. Can we put a poll on this one if poss
  14. MFC needs to keep pushing back and challenging the bulk of these. There is an obvious agenda by the AFL to target certain players & clubs vs going easy on their favourites. We also need to look for alternatives outside of Anderson. His track record, admittedly most likely by AFL design, isn't great. It's time to step up provided there's a gettable alternative heavy hitter.
  15. Seem to recall Rivers may have been given some brief minutes at center bounces (CBs) at times earlier in the season. Don't hold me to this though.

  17. ☝🏼 I hope the club as a collective understands this and appeals regardless. Need to stand up again as we did with JVR and show them we know it's a 'selective' rigged manufactured outcome depending on player/club in question.
  18. Need to appeal regardless otherwise they'll resume normal MO (aginst us). The AFL are a bunch of bullies towards the clubs that aren't high enough on their favourites list. Need to show them we arent copping their BS practices anymore and going to take these rubbish calls all the way every time and highlight the biased outcomes. Keep raising other examples of similar incidents and with different outcomes as precedents and showing up their bias and inconsistencies
  19. Bah! Easily the worst of the post match footy shows. I only ever watch by accident if i've had it on 9 previously and even then it gets switched off within minutes. Caro and Eddie 🤮
  20. I hope we aren't arguing solely on the basis of "he had eyes for the ball at all times" then. If so it would seem to be not all that convincing or alternatively an argument that might be easily picked off by the AFL cronies. The argument that Hunter arrived at the contest before Rozee, braced as you are trained to do, and that Rozee could have either pulled up or kept his feet / stayed upright in the contest but instead 'chose' to dive at the ball head first afterwards.... to me is more compelling and somewhat less flimsy for mine.
  21. I actually think we need to come out on the front foot and target Pepperoni the next time we meet them Send Max, Maysie, Viney and even Sparrow / Harmes (if in) to him before the bounce just hammmer him into the turf. Turn it into a full on melee and forget the pill in the first 3 minutes or so. After that, any bumps / blocking on Max or any other player ....same thing. Two or three go straight at whoever does it. Dragged to ground.. another melee/all in. Make it the ugliest scrap ever seen throughout the game and don't let up. Everytime... BANG BANG CRUNCH! You have to come out and hit them every time from the moment you take the field to the final siren. If you don't and come into the match as meek & mild again they'll feel they've got a physical edge and just keep bullying. It also gives them a mental edge believing they can just do what they've always done and most likely also win the match. FULL ON TARGETING OF PEPPERONI & ANY OTHER NUMB NUT WHO TRIES. An eye for an eye every time plus extra in return!
  22. Hey Kev. Is training @ Casey still a closed shop or open slather now?
  23. Yes hence why i seconded the Rivers idea although i don't see him as a direct replacement for Clarry as such. More just to see what he might add at CBs. Would love to see Dunstan get a run for Clarry over a short block to see where he's at. Not saying he's the answer either but imv he's the closest bull / extractor we've got (to Clarry/Viney) and one of the best distributors by hand at the club with VG vision in traffic (sees things out wide and goes there more often than some of the other insiders like Clarry, Viney, Sparrow & JJ). Might bring the likes of Lingers/Hunter into play a little more often, changing lanes & giving the forwards a few extra decent looks vs our usual straight ahead bang it in style which is a bit predictable & fairly easy to defend. Not sure how he'd go outside of CB with kicking etc. but worth trialling while Clarry is out. If we give him a block of games now so he can get up to speed/demand of AFL level again, find some confidence there. Better now than last minute late in the season if one of Viney or Clarry happened to go down. Of course all that would be outcomes based. He might also flop badly.
