PREGAME: Rd 07 vs Richmond
Absolutely. It's no coincidence imv that Rooh was able to deliver when needed due to the very fact that he wasn't spending so much needed energy, nor getting beaten up, having to play his usual chop out relief role for Max. We were also able to throw Max forward in short stints to mix things up a bit and stretch the opposition as highlighted. Moose also managed to hold his own a bit in his ruck contests. Surely the Moose stays!

POSTGAME: Rd 06 vs Brisbane
Yes and no way there'd be as many set shots from as many higher conversion % angles as most of our mids would've either... A: Bombed on top of heads to the left pocket. B: Blazed away from longish range kicking mostly behinds or C: Blazed away missing everything.

Does anyone here get a bit of ye olde 'Mark Jacko Jackson' feels when watching Rooh at times? Aside from the donkey kicks of course!

CASEY: Rd 04 vs Brisbane Lions Reserves
With alot of Mark / free kick situations today.... Not much initial / quick assessment of what's on up the field. Instead, often a quick short HB to a stationery option close by. Which results in 'play on' being called and receiver under alot more pressure than the mark or free kick recipient would have been had he gone back and found a hit up or just kicked down the line (at worst gaining some territory). I understand this happens in footy on occasions, even with the best. But i scratch my head when it happens to the extent we've seen today. Like how are so many players arriving at this panicy impatient style of play that so often results in a turnover? Is it just inexperience / confidence? A bad day at the office for many? Are they being trained to play this way but just picking the wrong times / options? Super frustrating to watch

The general decision making and kicking on transition post 'mid-field' is woeful today. Under very little pressure at times too

Alot of clangers across the board. One clean bit of play starting with Sinnema there for the goal. Getting smashed out of the middle and around stoppage. Where's Hendo at? He looks to have gone backwards imho.

43 has missed at least 2 very clear high tackles against us so far (1st Q) and him & mates giving alot of tiggy touchwoods to Brisvegas on the other side. Moniz & Mentha getting alot of it. If Moniz can clean up the finish and finesse a little when he's closer to the forward 50 (not alone) he'll be very handy at AFL level at some point.

TRAINING: Saturday 18th April 2026
Wouldn't surprise if Kent comes in for Fritta. The bloke's a natural forward with all the marking tricks and mostly a great set shot. Aside from a pretty big question mark over his fitness I have him ahead of Jeffo at this point in terms of potential lethality at AFL level including defensive intensity. In an ideal world the brains trust would want to get a few more miles under his belt at Casey but tough calls are often needed 'in-season' once the injuries hit home.

DL's own 'Dan Does Footy' but well ahead of Dan's time and much more entertaining. Mr Fence should demand some sort of royalty for pinching our man's M.O.

VOTES: Rd 05 vs Essendon
Seriously... no one deserves votes after that horror show. Where was the 'team' ethos, minimum standards and leadership against one of the worst performing teams (in terms of run of losses) ever recorded? Kingy needs to make a pretty big statement at the selection table this week. Bar a few who gave it some sort of crack, that was pure laziness and effort across the board and unacceptable at this level. The drubbing at clearance and contested, especially in the third when the match was on the line, tells the tale. Go hard or go home boys.

POSTGAME: Rd 05 vs Essendon
Crikey. As i said to bro during the week, "this is our biggest test for the year... we so often drop matches like this coming in as favs". And sure enough here we are. [censored] the bed as favs again and made them look like a top 6 contender. For whatever reason this club is unable to bring a professional 'big' game most weeks and i'm saying this in a cultural/ general sense not looking to put the blame on Kingy as he will need two to three seasons at least. Just when we appear to take a step or two forward we always manage two or three back and so often its when we're playing a badly out-of-form team. Playing them into what seems like 'great form'. Soft underbelly remains. There's a serious trust issue with too many players out there. Some are past their best and some may well be at or near their best but aren't quite up to the challenge at AFL level. Time will tell and its a long season but alot of air was let outta the balloon today.

GAMEDAY: Rd 05 vs Essendon
Windsor kicking to a 2 v 1 I can't see the whole ground but no other options to maintain possession and chain the ball forward?
