It will make the club even sicker and that's saying something. Clarry's 200th and Simon couldn't motivate them for a get-over-the-line whatever it takes win over a mediocre team missing at least 8 of their regulars. But those in charge and the happy clapping / back slapping brigade that support them will do nothing (or at most call for a few tweaks around Simon) and claim they've set in place a plan for improvement and that we will get a diff result. We are now unwatcheable (bar Kozzy highlights) and will be the lowest membership Vic club by this time next season after winning a flag only four seasons ago. Let that sink in folks. Another year of Simon? No thanks.

Our method of entry into 50, leading patterns / timing of leads (are there any?) Is one hot mess. And as soon as an oppo turns up thre pressure meter..... pfft!

You can't just kick a loopy dump kick down the line to about 20 - 30 out with Weitering hovering. Surely they were instructed to avoid that in the lead up. Apparantly your not allowed to run a spoiling arm up and over an oppnent's back now!!???

Cough the ball up / fumble / fall over far too often

There's distinct lack of leg speed in this team outside of Koz, Sharp and to a lessor degree Bowsa & Lingers

It's been that way since they introduced the four umps and the stupid stand rule. They're destroying the game single handedly and have turned it into a complete joke fest

Turner to Curnow or too soon?

After doing at least 20 - 30 minutes of warm ups in the rooms then another kick to kick session etc on the park, i'll never understand why they're then asked to expel even more valuable energy doing multiple sprints. Maybe one to make sure any hammys don't go ping just before the bounce but multiple sprints?? 🤔

Sadly they play the abominable doof at 105db also

200th already. Where did that go. Well done young fella. His player Ratings back up the disappointing 2024 but also a reasonable rebound without being back to his best. Noting that 2020 was the compromised Covid season with shorter quarters but where he was still ranked the No.1 player ahead of Tracc (3.56) and Max (2.95). And when i say reasonable, that rebound still sees him sitting in the No.2 ranking only behind the skipper this season! So reasonable needs to be kept in context as in reasonable vs his prior magnifique years (inc. B&Fs)! Can he get back to his best or somewhere near it? Let's hope so. Watching Clazz in full flight is a sight to behold and something etched in my memory. Defined by so many Houdini moments of brilliance. He still showes that from time to time, but without the explosive leg strength and side stepping, baulking and miraculous off the ground scoops (etc!) we had come to take somewhat for granted over his very best seasons. But we should never say never. He just might get there or very close. Regardless no one can take the best that Clazz has given us away, including the 2021 season with the magnificent finish. May he keep on Clarrying on!

Yes hopefully RB. Watching some of his highlights from the club in celebration of his 200th, he is in beast mode in many of those. Alot of that no doubt general body strength but much of it is the drive he has out of stoppage plus agility to twist and side step his way through traffic. Can he re-discover that latter part once more? It was probably a youthful thing as much as strength and leg power. Let's hope he can get back to somewhere near his best with another seriously intense pre-season eh. Looking at his prior season player ratings i have going back to 2018, he has a power of work to do if he's to make it back to anywhere near his B&F years. Noting that Season 2020 was the compromised Covid shortened season with shortened match time...

I would hope this to be the case most weeks DZ. But yes, our top 6 rating (up nearly 18% vs the season 2024 average) def supports the fact that many of our top line experienced boys excelled on the day. The stuff that can turn a 50/50 or worse on the day into a W!

Round 18, 2025 MCG - Demons vs Kangaroos A solid win to mark Goody's 200th. No doubt Dicko would've been very happy with that result. Finally something that resembled a four quarter performance. Lots of one percenters and team oriented moments. Keeping in mind this was against a very young team with 11 rookies running around. Also our team score only matched that of last season which was obviously nothing to write home about. A number of positives though regardless.... First time i can recall Fritta playing selfless team / percentage footy for what seemed like a long time. I'd be showing the positives in this regard over and over for the next two reviews. Let that side sink in as a "please bring more of this every week" reinforcement! Not sure if Salo was my No.1 but he had a fair bit of it with zero turnovers which has pushed him up the rung here. Young Langers break out game coming in at No.2 !!?? Where would we be without Koz and the Milk man. That was one for the ages from Jake the Snake. I'm not sure i've seen a better game from him in the red & blue outside of his come back assists vs the Blues a few seasons back and possibly moments of brilliance from the 2018 finals. Vintage Macca as well! As to why he was left out in the first place, who knows. But he certainly makes a huge difference. Bar May, Sparrow & Fritta, the rest went in to free fall over the last 5 weeks in comparison to Rnds 7 to 11 and ended up in the bin. Maybe the team all had a dose of influenza A, or B at the same time. Maybe covid! Even Max has dropped away massively. No wonder we are 5 - zip through that period. It would take a miracle to retrieve this for our match tomorrow vs North. My guess is there's a high probability of another 6 to 10 goal loss coming up. Just too many way off their best for whatever reason in the last five weeks. We will need a minor miracle from Lucifer to get over the line me thinks. Maybe they'll pull something out for Dicko.
