One of my favs even if somewhat inconsistent. Keep in mind he was a big part of our drought breaking premiership year until injured. In the statistical player ratings i keep he finished 14th that seaso, well inside the top 22. He then dropped 14 places in 2022 to finish the season in 28th. If only he was able to follow up his VG 21 season. Still think we needed to keep one of him or Bedford, or even both.

A number of silly 'withholds' by the club including JJ, Woe, Tomlinson or Disco. There's no way the Dogs are taking so many easy marks i50 with one of Disco or Tomo in. Madness ....complete and utter madness

It's a complete sham Kev. Unfortunately the AFL calls the shots and all the clubs are in on the circus act and gravy train so none will speak up. Everyone blames the AFL but the VFL and the AFL affiliate clubs are also to blame for allowing the AFL to ride roughshod without any protest etc

Had to watch this with the volume down a little and further away from the tv than usual. Kept thinking Campbell was Harris and that Harris had somehow turned into Captain Marvel or Super girl. How was she able to be in so many places!

There was a procedure i recall reading about decades ago where a non invasive injection of a gell-like fluid is injected into the knee joint. Was said to be capable of providing significant relief in the short-term to sufferers of bone on bone knee issues in some cases. Believe the technical term is viscosupplementation. Wonder if we've looked into that at all?

Reckon you may be having a lend Kev! A HUGE NO to Fritta. As many have suggested already.... cotton wool job till he runs out on the night! Macca...similar to Fritta. If it wasn't a final, possibly. Regardless he is more than likely to get the call up to replace Smith who will probably return as the sub. A half for Hibbo would be a handy warm up if they're looking for him to come in to cover Elliot. If not then there's no reason why he couldn't play out the entire match. Agree with NS re Tomo. He's a long way ahead of Disco at this point. His prep not great though having not played for weeks now. Strange decision to bring in Disco vs the Swans but what's done is done.

If Grundy goes. While neither are genuine back ups we also have chop out options at present in JVR & to a lessor degree Macca (occasional forward duties only behind JVR) IF he continues on through 2024. Verral a maybe at some point in 24 but a long way off at present, understandable of course as he's a bare boned rookie still learning the basics.

If wishes were horses. After the last 3 to 4 weeks my gut feel was he would be delisted. Maybe he was signed 3 to 4 weeks ago!?? Like most defenders on the weekend he was rarely called upon as the ball spent a large majority of time in our forward half However, the few cameos i saw him involved in were spluttery with a number of fumbles, turnovers and / or very uncertain / slow decision making. Showed glimpses of reasonable form in the ruck and forward throughout the season but very underwhelming drop off over the last few weeks and looked disinterested against North.

Slightly diff in a role sense but agree re getting the nod ahead of Harmes. Could've been given at least 2 to 3 matches while Clazz was injured and would also have eased the inside extractor burden off Viney a tad.

Yes the hybrid who can ruck & genuinly impact as a forward. Jackson, Tom De Koning types. They don't grow on trees however. Most genuine rucks are bog ordinary in front of the sticks even if they can take the odd clunker up forward or mobile enough to be hit up on a lead.

We are much more in need of a Treloar type through the middle and a KPF. As far as rucks go, if Grundy goes then sure we should be looking for an alternative. Verral has some potential but a massive work in progress even at VFL level at this point. Although not presently on the list, Bell could also act as a short term back up if Grundy left. While he won't be anywhere near a Max standard (who would be?) and probably has limited upside, he's a competitive beast that can neautralise a contest and take occasional decent intercept marks. He would be as effective as Grundy imho if he gets to peak fitness. Helped Casey win a Premiership and is a big reason why they dropped away late in the season after his injury. As long as there's a list spot (Grundy) and he comes cheap. Regardless, a half decent ruck is all that's needed. Wouldn't want to pay too much and only if Grundy moves on.
