Well, Bobby, you seem to have a lot more pride in the club than do a number of the players who represent it on the field.

We were beaten by 17 scoring shots by GWS. Says it all

I was rapt when we got Roos in, but the cynic in me wonders if he is really giving his all. Nice return to the city of his childhood. Paid millions to have coffees with families and friends. For the moment, I'm prepared to believe - but I'd really feel better if he at least said that he'd stay for the third year.

Interest Factor in football these days almost dead
angrydee replied to Soidee's topic in Melbourne Demons
Apart from my postings overseas, I have seen virtually every game played since 1969. I also saw every game between 1956 - 64 (I seem to recall we were a fair side then, but that might be senility - perhaps we were always awful. No that was just the committee who basically killed one of our greatest coaches.) The committees since haven't, in the main, been much better. Footy was more fun once, but that could be because I was younger. I miss the hip and shoulders waiting for the gates at the suburban grounds to open as we'd make our mad dash for seats on the fence in the outer on the wing. I miss buying food at fair prices at the footy. I miss Big Carl and Jimmy Durnan's elbows. I miss Rod Grinter and the two Jako's. Footy is now football - homogenised with vacuous commentary. I still watch it, but the love affair is over. -
The misleading Misson strikes again

Gawn is fit and will play, according to Misson

A great prankster, the rooster. But never a tankster.
-
Not in 2 games.
-
Everyone involved at the AFL KNOWS that the rooster would NEVER condone tanking. If he plays players in different positions it's to complete his dossiers, not to try and lose. Information gathering could last all season.
-
Perhaps the group chant should be held around Norm's statue. Thirteen members randomly selected and holding hands. Some old rope (preferably from Miller's) could be burnt as an offering to thr footy gods.
-
The rooster said before the season that this year would tell him who can and can't make it in the AFL. As far ss I can see, he no more than reiterated his earlier statements. Cherny has always been an unreadable hack.

So so sad

^^^^ make that +2

He copped a caulky to the calf early and limped until the next break when he probably got a jab. He didn't seem able to run normally for the rest of the night.

Brett Kirk also says hello

The top four disposal gatherers in the terrible saints midfield all played in the drawn gf in 2010. It is much easier to replace three unavailable midfielders than three tall forwards.

Cross - never stopped tackling

You'd think in this day and age, you'd understand about depression. Clark showed nothing but courage playing in the red and blue. This is not the first time he's crashed after being down on himself for being injured. It happened early in his career at the Lions. But he came out of it bigger and stronger. Hopefully he'll do so again. I sincerely hope that mental health problems don't befall you or anyone in your family. But karma can be a [censored], and while you bravely attack a young man struggling with his mental demons (pun not intended) from behind your keyboard, hope and pray it doesn't strike you or yours.

Didn't do Brett Kirk any harm.

Sitting between wing and hff southern stand city end. Felt wretched after Gabolich's run, elated after Froggy's kick. Grave doubts I'll ever see us in that position again. I think I'll be long gone.
-
Sitting between wing and the hff city end. Was delirious after Froggy kicked that goal. Doubt I'll be around for the next one.

I'd be happy if they could find the tunnel.
