  1. The problem I have with this whole system is that it has no feel for the game. And also that they have their favourites in there. Judd would NEVER get suspended for this tackle. Ever. Tinney would be told by Vlad to argue that "it was forceful but part of the game". I'm sick of our players being made examples of. It was a rubbish citing, a rubbish ruling and a rubbish decision, and we're weak if we don't take this to the next level and appeal, on principle if nothing else.
  2. I didn't think it possible, but this decision is worse than the Moloney decision of "he didn't make contact but he could have" back in 2007.
  3. And I hope we do! We have nothing to lose now and it's worth a try. It seems unbelievable to me that they can justify 3 weeks for a tackle when kicking a player in the nuts or punching them in the face (with a bad record) gets you 2 weeks max. ARGH!!!!
  4. A big giant F-YOU to the AFL. Unbelievable! Can we appeal?!
  5. It shows that we don't believe it's dangerous to tackle this way or else we wouldn't tackle this way at training, thus risking injury to our own players.
  6. Our evidence should be "this is no netball, [censored] off". Ridiculous!
  7. Very very very few players who are Grimes' age suffer career ending injuries these days. We're not talking 3 knee reconstructions or a severe neck injury which forced a Collingwood (?) player to retire in just his first few seasons. Egan was almost the first of his kind with this type of injury and Geelong stuffed up and have served as a good case for everyone else. Just like OP used to threaten careers and is now so well managed that few players miss more than a few months with this type of injury. Of course there are always horrible negative endings, but we can't be thinking like that and I'm sure the club isn't either.
  8. There are so many new advances these days, far more than there were even two or three years ago when Egan got injured. I was told about a new treatment by a knee specialist recently that some footballers have apparently already tried, where they harvest your cells in a lab and inject it into an injured body part to quicken the healing process. I know the type of injury Grimes has is hard to treat due to lack of blood supply to the area, but there are honestly so many ways to get around these things and if we got Garland out of this injury, we'll get Grimes out of it too. Remember that Garland actually played for a few weeks with a 'hot spot' before it was detected, no doubt making the injury worse. We at least got to Grimesy straight away. Someone as meticulous in his recovery as him, will do a great job to get himself ready for 2012. It's such a big blow for him mentally and for us, but he'll be playing again before you know it. Just gotta trust the club to get him the best medical treatment available. Still absolutely devastating for him to sustain yet another serious, long-term injury, and so early in the season as well. It seems like every time he goes into the midfield for a brief moment everything comes crashing down around him. Clearly he is just too good and the footy gods get angry that someone so brilliant is making everyone else look ordinary so they strike him with random injuries!
  9. Based on their form, most definitely Evans and Nicholson. Can't see any other rookie getting a game right now, unless of course Campbell has decided to stop dying somewhere in obscurity.
  10. Two things. Firstly he played a lot deeper in the second half, and we know historically that that doesn't always suit him. Secondly he runs around so much in his role that he is bound to get tired. He is fit, but he doesn't have the tank to run around for 4 quarters yet. There is no doubt that he has answered a lot of the question marks that were hovering above his head over the past few weeks. The questions some had about hardness, contested marking and running to the right positions seem to have all been answered. Not emphatically, but it's a start. Watts played on a very very good player yesterday who I'm guessing has at least 10kg on him, and was excellent. But it's the cleanliness below his knees, his pace off the mark and his disposal (both in terms of skills and decision making), that makes him so special. All the other 'typical KPF' stuff will come slowly.
  11. The way Bailey was talking up Scully's fitness and how he'll "quickly regain fitness as he is such a fit guy", tells me that they won't even bother with Casey practice games first and he'll go straight into the side (maybe as a sub) once he gets the all clear.
  12. Can we all stop talking about career ending injuries RIGHT NOW!!! Grimes is not Egan. He will make a full recovery and will be running around getting injured again in no time! Oh Grimesy, you are like the new Rivers. I'm feeling the need for another signature counter. Number of seasons uninjured= 0
  13. FFFFFFFFUUUUUUUU! :( so shattered!!! Also Spencer has done his ACL. So much for our small injury list. FFS we cannot catch a break!!!
  14. 3 weeks?! Get stuffed. He tackled him in the midst in battle. He had no intention to hurt him. FFS we have to challenge this rubbish! Massive overkill by the AFL and of course it has to come at the expense of one of our players.
  15. I did not see that photo. In the video you can see him in the bottom of the screen and he seemed to stand on his own. Please please please be kind to him footy gods, he deserves some good luck!
  16. Grimes to have scans tomorrow
  17. Footy is a team game, and as much as we can blame a coach for poor tactics, lack of moves and team selection, it is not his job to go out there and attack the ball, tackle and win contested possessions. Our players have been asleep at the wheel this year, and utterly lacking any physicality. It took a heap of external (and no doubt internal) pressure to wake them up, which is a shame but not really a reflection on the coach. The result should mean nothing to Bailey's future. The decision to keep him or cut him will depend entirely on whether we think he is tactically capable of taking us to the next level. Glimpses this year and last year suggest that he can, but likewise many games since he started coaching suggest that he can't. Time will tell. Things are never as good or as bad as they seem. Remember that always.
  18. In: Martin (have to support Jamar!), Bennell Out: Bate (unlucky but definitely our worst today), Grimes (inj) I know we won by nearly 100 points, but I hope Bailey still makes changes to make sure we don't become complacent. Pressure for spots is so important.
  19. Bail did such an outstanding job down back I think it's time to permanently move Grimesy into the middle and replace him with Bail, who is an equally good kick and just as brave. His job on Dangerfield, who is an out and out gun, was absolutely brilliant! 6- Moloney 5- Jamar 4- Bail 3- Petterd 2- Frawley 1- Maric
  20. How was that tap over his shoulder backwards to Moloney today? Ridiculous!
  21. Flag nowhere to be seen. Thank goodness!
  22. Have a look at the video of the team singing the song post match. Grimes joins in, and I can't really tell if he's on crutches. He is definitely not on two crutches, possibly just one. Can't have a broken foot if he's up singing the song. Anyone who has broken anything from the hip down before would tell you that standing up singing is not top of your priority list. Unless you are really high on Morphine. So fingers crossed!
  23. Crappiest Photoshop job ever, but still, gets my point across.
  24. We continue to play with fire though. One day our luck with Jamar will run out. We are sending him into an early retirement.
