  1. J.MAC!!!! Super exciting 1 game in the reserves, 1 game in the seniors then straight in for Round 9 vs. St Kilda? Fingers crossed.
  2. It was a general comment. But you'll excuse me if after last week's epic disaster the words "Michael Newton" don't fill me with joy and happiness. IMO, with the exception of Morton, the changes this week are soft. Rivers is 'injured', and no other senior player has been made accountable for their performance. Let's hope the same players who have given us little this season repay Bailey's faith. Martin is stiff to get dropped, and I hope we go with one ruck and Newton remains at Casey where he excels. Edit: HOW IS DUNN STILL GETTING A GAME THIS WEEK?!?!?!
  3. What I would love to know is what has Martin done wrong that he gets dropped ahead of guys like Davey who were shizen last week and since round 1. Lots of shuffling of deck chairs on board a sinking ship really. Very ordinary ins but I suppose the only two good players we have left are injured.
  4. If that was true the club would have placed him on the long term injury list so they could promote another rookie.
  5. Average IQ of people who post comments on HS articles= 12 Move on.
  6. My brilliant sense of humour is clearly wasted on the foolish young posters of Demonland
  7. Absolutely. As someone who somehow ends up dealing with customer feedback at work, I can tell you that it is the worst most irritating thing you can do and often leaves me in a complete and utter state of rage. If I didn't have a pre-prepared format to answer the hundreds of inane, ridiculous and mostly wastefully idiotic feedback, I'd have jumped straight out the window and into the Yarra river a long time ago. In short, stop wasting the time and sanity of MFC employees. You aren't telling them anything they don't already know and frankly, they don't care about your opinion.
  8. Or she will continue to think of you as her greatest failure. Either way, you ain't fixing anything by skipping the footy.
  9. Too many lame excuses about Mothers Day. My mum knows very well that she gets either breakfast or dinner, and if she wants to spend the whole day with us she has to come to the footy. Toughen up your mums people! B)
  10. Ummm worst thread ever? Also, strange way to come out of the closet.
  11. I went to every single Victorian match between 2007-2009 (in fact, I haven't missed a Vic game since I was on school camp in 99!), so I'm not about to start skipping games because we suck. I'm used to it
  12. This post is missing some Jack Viney.
  13. GC vs. GWS next year is going to be the worst game ever. Epic fail galore!
  14. CG still have to play Collingwood, Geelong and Hawthorn. There is still a chance! I would be shocked if Collingwood didn't beat them by 150+ plus, and if Buddy doesn't kick 10 against them.
  15. I think it was the 2nd worst, and the least expected/explained/acceptable. GC are going to struggle, we know that, Lions are without Brown and are in a full on rebuild mode after ruining their list. Port are the same. I have no reasons to explain logically why we sucked so badly (lost yes, limped onto the field to get smashed, no)!
  16. It literally made me tear up, and then I had to stop myself from spewing. Horrid! Did put my knee injury into perspective. Poor guy, I can't even imagine how many years of rehab he'll need to go through just to get normal mobility back!
  17. Makes the most sense out of all other suggestions in this thread. Sadly they won't drop Davey or Green, although both are horrid this season. I'd make Davey a sub though, and swap him with Bennell. Bate will surely get a game given his 6 goal effort, although it wasn't such a dominant performance. I worry about J.Mac, he is prone to too many brain fades, but I want Grimes in the middle so it makes sense to have him play the sweeper role. Unless of course we want to try Petterd down back again. Afterall that is where he started his career.
  18. But the awesome thing for us is that the likes of Tom Scully must be watching this game and wondering just how much worse GWS are going to be next season, especially if they don't attract a big name like Ablett (and they probably won't).
  19. They beat Brisbane (so did we) and St Kilda (who won one game against Brisbane). They will still get smashed against better opponents. Essendon have been rebuilding for longer than us, as have Carlton, and therefore are 2/3 seasons ahead. They also have much better senior players than we do (Fletcher, Judd etc). We are playing like poo, but on paper we have a better balanced more talented list than Richmond, Essendon and Carlton (ask any Carlton fan and they'll tell you their backline is suspect and their forwards non-existent). The problem is we have average senior players with no leadership skills, and we are currently all at sea with our game plan.
  20. According to Sam Blease's Twitter (being stuck at home on a Saturday night is leading me down some very lame paths! ), he had to go to hospital after the game to get scans and 'can't remember playing'. I assume he was concussed a few moments after Ricky came off with what looked like a knee dislocation. Might explain his crappy game.
  21. Watching the Adelaide vs. St Kilda game tonight unfortunately due to being bed bound, and it appears very obvious that it doesn't matter who plays next week, if we don't pick up our tackling and intensity we'll get smashed. Adelaide are all over St Kilda like a fat kid on a packet of chips. They are relentless in their attack of the ball and pressuring the ball carrier, not to mention that they are dominating the clearances and their tall forwards are getting great service from their midfielders. I smell a thrashing
  22. Thanks for the report, but I have to laugh when you say Warnock is too good for VFL so we should replace him with Frawley next week. Frawley would rip apart every single VFL forward. He had a shocker on Thursday but he ain't getting dropped. He is very rusty after having so much time off with injury, but I'd take him at half fitness over any other defender on our list. Warnock may well get his chance next week but I highly doubt it'll be at the expense of Frawley.
  23. Really surprised with a lack of votes for Bartram. He worked really hard, which is more than about 16 other players can say for themselves.
  24. Firstly if that was the first time you noticed Cook it's because you weren't looking hard enough, as he played mostly down back. Secondly when a player is 18, raw and skinny, I look for things like decision making, composure and kicking skills. When a player has been on our list for 7 years and is barely holding on, I can't get impressed anymore by anything less than dominant performances. Yes Newton works hard and his pressure on the ball carrier is good, but he is simply a poorly skilled footballer. He makes ordinary decisions, his kicking and handballing is average and his marking is just OK for someone who is one of the biggest players on the ground. I understand the decision to keep him on the list as an insurance policy given the new sub rule, but I didn't even see him take any rucking contests, so how can we judge him on the role he's most likely to get called up for? Bate, Petterd, Jetta and Maric will be in line for a recall. McDonald only a maybe. But nobody in that list of players actually blew me away with their intensity or their desire to get a game next week. They went through the motions and won out because they are simply much better than their opponent. I thought the guys who won't get a game anytime soon like Howe, Cook, McDonald, Evan and Nicolson were all far more impressive.
