  1. I don't care if a player is soft, that is not my problem. I care if a player is a cheater, and a diver. I also hate hate hate when Dunn tries to milk frees. It goes against what this game is about.
  2. Newton was always going to give Martin a rest by rucking. It made sense. Then Martin got hurt and was struggling so they took him out of the circle, and rightfully so. A knock to the knee and then another knock could mean very bad things. Better not to risk it when the game was already lost.
  3. Can't see us winning anything until Jamar is back. The end.
  4. Sorry but Dangerfield goes hard. Forget what happened last week, it wasn't his fault that the MRP are a bunch of morons. Dangerfield is an excellent player, with a very soft head. He doesn't dive and he doesn't cheat his way to possessions. Harvey just hangs out the back, taking cheap shots at his tagger, and as soon as his tagger touches him he is down like he's been shot. He is a disgrace.
  5. I'm shocked that the umpires continue to reward Harvey for being such a diving dog. Hard to think of an AFL player I respect less, despite him being an excellent player in general.
  6. As a Gysberts fan I'm really disappointed that you'd pick on a player with less than 10 games experience who has sensational hands in close and goes in extremely hard, despite weighing less than a toothpick. Out: Bail , Dunn (susp.), Aussie (fitness is horrible) In: McKenzie (RUSH him in), TBC depending on Casey performances I'm hoping Garland gets up. He did play more than a quarter after the injury, so possibly just badly twisted and bruised and will be OK. I nearly shat myself when he hobbled off pointing to his foot. Given the week we've had I kept thinking that maybe he re-injured the foot. Oh the horror! IMO we'll keep changes to a minimum given we are already struggling with so many injuries. Jetta was good and hard at the contest, and we have to keep giving Maric some more chances when no one else is really pressing for selection. Fingers crossed McKenzie is half fit. I'd bring him in and sub him off if he gets tired. FFS we need to give Moloney some help!
  7. I'm really surprised by the negative comments towards Martin. He competed extremely well, especially in the first quarter, until he got a knock to the knee that really slowed him down. He played against one the better ruckman in the competition and held his own. I thought he played very well and did a great job trying to curb the influence of Goldstein around the ground, with virtually no help. And again, his disposal was good, he showed excellent athleticism and given what he was up against, he deserves a lot of praise IMO. Btw, the umpiring in the ruck today was f'ing woeful. Umpire appreciation week? More like shove it up your arse umpire week Gotta agree with that one. The idiots around me not only failed to cheer, but were angry that others were cheering. WTF, stay home your fair weather wankers. Oh and to the North supporter who gave me crap all game only to leave 20 minutes before the siren, you are the reason why North is going under, because you won't even stay and cheer your boys when they win. Pathetic!
  8. Agreed, he is an absolute gun and set up nearly all of our meaningful attacks from half back. How insanely good was his disposal today?! I LOVE HIM! If he gets injured like the rest of the list I'll just about call it quits on this season.
  9. Come on now, captains rarely get dropped, and Green is a high quality player. Tell me who we have in the VFL who is a better option? Green has plenty of credits in the bank, and Bailey will continue to persist with him, as would every other coach. Remember that the boys voted Green into the leadership group and on face value I understand completely why the coaches and the board voted for Green to lead us. I understand why the fans want Moloney, but it's because he goes out and gets [censored] post game that he isn't captain. Maybe it's an isolated incident, but it still tells me that he doesn't have the right mindset to lead a club, because it's as much what you do off field as it what you do on field.
  10. I don't get how you can give Jones 6 votes when he continuously turned it over and cost us dearly. Plus his tackling sucks. 6- Martin 5- Frawley (the most perfect kicking game I've seen in a while) 4- Davey 3- Jetta (underrated for his hardness) 2- Jurrah 1- Maric
  11. I agree completely, except for the comment about Martin, who was very good and tried his absolute best to not only win the ruck contest but also get the clearance. He was excellent, especially when he was injured last week, thrown into a first ruck position this week with no support and copped a hit to the knee during the game. He is the least of our problems. I think everyone needs to remember that in today's game, being down on rotations kills you. We lost a very important part of our structure in Garland early on, and we then lost Bail who gives us so much run and has great endurance. We played more than a quarter with 2 players on the bench, one of which was Jurrah with a sore back, and Jones with a corked thigh, and the Roos ran us into the ground. We were also missing our single most important player structurally in Jamar and when you combine that with Beamer having to battle with the best tagger in the comp, it was always going to be hard to win. Yes, it is inexcusable that we still have guys like Jones turn the ball over under no pressure, that Davey still chooses too many risky options at critical times in the game, that we got caught several times during a quick switch and that we turned it over too much up forward. Chippa said after the game that we "gave up", which is not good enough, but everything that could go wrong this week (and today) did. I have no idea how we are going to win the next 4 games without Jamar, Bail, Trengove, maybe Garland and Grimes. That is a chunk of talent from a young inexperienced list that can barely afford to lose a single player in their structure, especially when only McKenzie looks like a good replacement in the not too distant future.
  12. Green has been in a shocking form this year. I don't know if he's carrying an injury but god he's lost his pace, and his kicking has totally gone down hill. He was cruising out there today, which is so disappointing after he made great inroads last week. I think it's easy to blame Bailey for everything that goes wrong, but often there are plenty of things that are beyond his control, and which he cannot be blamed for. A captain going at half pace is one of those things. Greeny has absolutely disappointed me this year, and I've always been a fan.
  13. I don't know what was worse today, the umpiring, the horrid injury luck or the absolute friggin morons I had to sit around today. Shite game.
  14. Freezing my arse off at Medallion Club. No confidence at all. At least Dees supporters outnumber Roos fans 9 to 1 here. Go Dees!!
  15. The AFL can go suck a big one. Biggest screw-over we've received by the league in my time as a Melbourne supporter. This entire week has been nothing short of a disgrace, and I hope we send the AFL a nice little tape of 'dangerous tackles' from this weekend with our very own please explain. Bastards!
  16. I doubt it or they would have named Gawn as an emergency last night. All it means IMO is that they needed to name another emergency and it's good encouragement for Gawn to be named.
  17. I'm still spewing about this disgraceful decision, and it only makes me like Jack more!
  18. Marshmallow tossing? Oh that's easily high, negligent, rough, excessive force and behind play. 10 weeks. Minimum. Campbell Brown is all over this one.
  19. I can't see any court of law in Australia awarding damages to someone like Dangerfield for receiving a concussion while willingly participating in a contact sport. There is no negligence, he was taken care of immediately after the incident, and the player was performing a lawful act on the field. If the AFL is so worried about duty of care, why do they let morons like Brown continuously snipe players behind play? Why is Judd allowed to draw blood from an opponent's face? Why is smothering allowed when it can cause serious bone damage? Some moron gave this case the wrong grading and the AFL, never one to admit a mistake, did not want to back down and prove to everyone that they are idiots. I just wish that the club takes this to another level, publicly or privately. For all our great club has done for this game, we deserve much better. Stynes should give the AFL his own please explain.
  20. Do you know what would be our next avenue of appeal if we chose to go down that path?
  21. Channel 10. And the cameras will definitely try and get shots of any Trengove banners. (I hate North too and didn't realise how many other people felt the same. Pack of whingers).
  22. It definitely would have been nice to hear from Dangerfield, but it needed to happen on Monday, because as we know now, we couldn't present any new evidence tonight. I mean that in itself is a complete joke. WTF is this appeals board's job anyway, except for stamp some paperwork? It's a disgrace. They wasted our time and wouldn't consider any relevant and very recent evidence that have been brought to hand. Disgusting.
  23. How is Dangerfield to blame for all this? Seriously, I doubt any Melbourne player holds any hard feelings towards him. He got concussed and the rest was out of his hands. If you wanna get angry, get angry at the farce that is the MRP, the tribunal, the appeals board, the AFL's judiciary system, Demetriou, Anderson, Adelaide' medical reports and the birth of dictatorship. Anger towards anything else is misguided.
  24. McKenzie!!! AFL next week. Make it happen Melbourne!
