Very few players can kick it like him and the GWS blokes you saw do it probably got lucky.
-
I had the same thought today! He is a really hard worker and loves the tough stuff. People can bag Neeld all they like about his game day coaching (which obviously needs improvement) but I think the guys he has brought into the club via the drafts are exactly the guys we need - tough and willing to do the hard yards to get better. No Morton's on Neelds watch.
-
His skills and composure were still first rate but his intensity and running frustrates the crap out of me. He is in dire need of a mentor I think, someone who can get him motivated and teach him to show a bit of aggression.
-
10 tackles to boot, like his intensity in close.

Gawn has not gawn, he has well and truly arrived
Little Richard replied to Dees2014's topic in Melbourne Demons
No he wasn't. He was average but created some strong contests in the air, took some good marks and kicked an important goal. Terrible is unfair. Edit: And he had 5 tackles, quite a few more than some of the other guys. -
I'm a hater and one performance against the worst club in the league isn't enough to change his attitude in the past but the last 10 games have been promising and hopefully a start to changing his future. He has reignited that little bit of hope inside me that he could be a star, foolish I know.

Big Max is a star and forgive me if I'm wrong but I don't think we have lost a game when he has been in the side... -
Clark on the bench with his foot iced f$&@

My God, Jack Watts frustrates the hell out of me. It really looks like he'd rather be playing basketball at the moment. There is no intensity from him at all.

Relax... We've still got Jesse Hogan...
Little Richard replied to Norm Smith's Curse's topic in Melbourne Demons
You are keen to name key position players who haven't left their clubs to go back to their home states but the fact is there are a hundred players at least who play for different states and haven't gone home.... everyone chill the eff out. Hogan will be a star and will be our star. -
I'm looking forward to watching a really good game of footy today and although Richmond have looked pretty good the last few weeks I'd be backing the Pies. What do people think? It wouldn't be a big game without a little quote from Eddie... 'For Richmond, it's their biggest game in 30 years. For Collingwood, it's round 4'. What a [censored].

I like most of this, however in the footy department section you have left out a big concern for myself and others. The gameplan and Neelds tactical ability as a coach. I personally like the professional attitude that seems to be exuded by the people in the footy department and the recruiting under Neeld so far (bar maybe a couple like Gillies and Rodan, who do have a bit of time to prove themselves at the dees) however what the players are doing in the middle on game day is terrible. The defensive zoning which is going on is not at all effective and there needs to be much more accountability and some run through the middle. This kicking to packs and flanks isn't good enough, especially when the standard of our big men bar Clark is very average. We need to present more, run harder for the short passes and the skills need to be a big focus. The game plan at the moment is far too flat footed and stand still for me, and won't ever be effective.

Grimes is a must keep for captain, bleed red and blue and taking it off him would be a vote of no confidence by the club. The co captaincy should be weened off Trengove though and I feel like they are already doing this quietly. He really just has to concentrate on his game before he can lead from the front. If Neeld were to be sacked, Eade would be a pretty good replacement I feel and maybe the best option available. Sheedy for CEO... not too sure about that. Maybe in some kind of capacity in the footy department, if we were able to get him. He is still a [censored] though.

Stephen Dank? Don't you mean Stephen [censored]? Amiright?

You are totally right in my opinion. In reality, 90 percent of the players in the league can be physically very similarly ranked. But it is mostly in the mind... courage, attitude and work ethic... of which ours is [censored]. I wonder, what kind of sports psych program have we got on down at the MFC?
-
Watching that little special on Joel Selwood... what a superstar. I wish even a couple of our boys had his fearlessness and work ethic. Makes our attitudes look like absolute rubbish. I wonder if Col Sylvia could look Selwood in the eye.

It's time for Watts to leave - according to Barrett

Where did he place Tambling when he revised that draft? -
It's time for Watts to leave - according to Barrett

Barrett is an A grade [censored]. It's time for Watts to pull his finger out, but he has a couple more years before we give him the boot I'd say. Still only 22 and has shown bits, just has to put something together. -
Plus I've got his number on my jumper.

Forget trade scenarios, we should be planning how to best keep him at the club. Chip is vital to the back line going forwards and people talking him down here are clearly trying to make themselves better about the possibility of losing him. He is our best backman by a mile.

Watching Port Adelaide makes me want to cry!
Little Richard replied to ashdemons22's topic in Melbourne Demons
It gives me the opposite feeling to be honest. It shows how quickly a rubbish team can be turned around with the right formula, we just have to find our one. -
Should We Trade Colin Sylvia Before he becomes Free Agent
Little Richard replied to ashdemons22's topic in Melbourne Demons
You might be right, it makes me sick to think about though. -
Should We Trade Colin Sylvia Before he becomes Free Agent
Little Richard replied to ashdemons22's topic in Melbourne Demons
LOL. Sylvia was indefensible three years ago. The main reason as to why MFC are pathetic is because we have put up mediocrity and 'promise' for years, not too mention terribl attitude and arrogance which is in no way justified. I too was calling for Sylvia to go last year and got shot down but he is a culture killer and should have been out of our club a long time ago. -
I think the physicality and aggression (in a couple of them) are actually requirements of Neeld already, recruiting blokes like Magner, Clark, M.Jones, Terlich and so on. He is already trying to do it and was vocal about using Richmond as a blueprint last year. The only issue is that Neeld inherited a list that resembled a pile of stinking [censored], he's doing what he can. Game day however is a completely different issue, Hardwick is obviously a much better coach.

At what point does this become unacceptable?
Little Richard replied to Striker475's topic in Melbourne Demons
I am sort of of the same thinking however I am starting to believe that he can't do it and doesn't really know what to do. It goes back to hiring an inexperienced coach again after Bailey, a terrible move for the club.
