Is that officially official?

Although I don't know anything about the inner workings of the club it seems stupid to me that they don't give Clark or Grimes (especially Clark given his history) an extra week or two on the sidelines to enable us to put them on the LTI list and elevate Magner.

I take this as good news - hopefully it means he isn't carrying something major and the week off will give him some time to regain the energy in his legs.

Being an MCC/MFC member, I'm not a huge fan of this idea as if it were to happen and Melbourne was shifted away from the G the membership would lose a lot of its benefit. On the other hand, a smaller stadium would obviously be financially great for the club, the potential for membership in that area is great and the atmosphere at our games would probably be a lot more appealing.

Good news, expect Jones to take the reins while Trengove recovers his form.

Jacks dad Steve mentioned in an email regarding the membership volunteers that it was a very clean break and everything was going very well so think the severe break is rubbish.

Not sure why Roos would leave his cushy spot to become the subject of much scrutiny by Demonland. It would be awesome if we were able to somehow get him onboard though.

He has to or else he won't last long. People have to remember that he is a first time Senior AFL coach and is going to make mistakes.

I actually think this is one of the better coaching tactics I've seen from Neeld. Garland was very good when he went forward (I think he was drafted as a forward?) and incase you've forgotten he won us the game against Essendon with those two late goals. My Most Improved: Pickles, Garland. Gone Backwards: Jack Trengove, for reasons unknown. Surprise Packet: Matt Jones, Dean Terlich - both showing to be great picks late in the draft so far.

Has played 48 for Hawthorn since then... 14 in the last two seasons though.

Despite all this still ranked 8th in the league for tackles per game. Who'd have thunk it?

Anyone have any thoughts on Xavier Ellis? Could be a pretty handy addition and isn't exactly a required player at the Hawks.

2.5 million for two years for someone whose best is past them? Not sure about that one. Cooney could be a good addition if we could lure him but maybe for a better deal.

Redemption for passing up on Dustin Martin all those years ago. Can't make the same mistake again.

I think we should be okay this year - the drafting under Neeld so far has actually been a real positive. Viney (26), Matt Jones (52), Dean Terlich (68), Sellar (52, hasn't been awesome but has done his part) plus rookies Magner and Couch have had an immediate impact and haven't taken 27 years to develop a la Prendergasts strategy.

Man I am sick of the fact that the part of the season MFC supporters get most excited about is the draft. I enjoy the analysis but the fact that it is round 6 and we are already looking forward to the draft is pretty pathetic.

Your assessment is based on fact? The fact is that our midfield is terrible and aren't doing basic things. Royal is the midfield coach and as the midfield coach, is accountable for the performance of the midfield. Royal might stay if Neeld goes, he was there before and didn't go when Bailey left.
