  1. Can you please just get yourself banned again for the benefit of all?
  2. It is frustrating as I see a superstar inside him, he just needs an attitude change. Anyway, there are enough Jack Watts threads, apologies all.
  3. Its sort of pathetic that the idea of Watts running through someone, delivering a strong hit or even trying to rile someone up is laughable. Supremely skilled and athletic but no attitude.
  4. Dad and his father before him ... I never had a choice but don't regret it at all. I do feel pretty sorry for the old man though - he was 2 in 1964 so hasn't really seen any success.
  5. Jack Watts KO Michael Hurley.
  6. The universe has righted itself and removed Range Rovers comments
  7. Cox might push the value up a little too high
  8. Save him from our on-field culture! Perfect
  9. I'll take a fat hundred on that, if you're game?
  10. They key to Jack Trengoves fitness - before he came to the Dees he was training with his sister. After he came to the Dees, fitness and speed goes down hill. Conclusion: Jack's sister is probably much fitter and trains harder than most players on the list.
  11. List management Old Dee. If we elevated him last year someone else would have had to have been traded/delisted and possibly paid out on their contract. This way he can stay on the rookie list for his second year, cost the club much less and will most likely be elevated next season after the two years.
  12. How recently did you change your 'signature' from 'I Believe in Neeld' RR? You seem to turn pretty quickly mate. It's one game, relax.
  13. Regardless of the connection we think he may have with the players, Neeld deserves at least the entire season. It would be ridiculously stupid to axe him midway and set the club back even further. Continuity and momentum need time to build and Neeld deserves at least that.
  14. Once they put on that jumper they inevitebly have a responsibility as a role model, its obvious the way so many kids look up to these players and try to emulate them. The players know this having been those kids once upon a time.
  15. No they can't post whatever they like as they have a responsibility as role models due to the exposure of their words to the wider community as well as being the faces of very public organisations.
  16. I think one thing is obvious - it's not Doherty and never will be
  17. Naturally, to sack anyone in the middle of the year will just create another disastrous season. The way I see it is Neeld is a tough task master and seems very motivated. With Bailey it seems the players had the complete opposite environment so with most bases covered in the coaching spectrum, it is the players that are responsible in my eyes. It was still the same blokes too, recruited and nurtured in the Bailey era which were letting the side down (aside from say Gillies/Pedersen who can be forgiven in their very first game for the club for not dominating).
  18. I think to give Neeld the flick after two seasons would be more detrimental to the club than good. The responsibility is with the players right now, not the coach.
  19. At least there was someone showing some heart and anger besides the very few on the field
  20. Lyon has 76 wickets at 33 from 22 games - a pretty respectable return considering his Shield form that you pointed out. The fact is that four day shield cricket is very different from test cricket and can take quite a bit of adapting. At 26 I think Lyon is definitely the man who should remain number one test spinner as he has plenty of time to work on his game and his returns show that he has been improving. We shouldn't get carried away by a bloke who has played a few good shield matches and has a status in the cricketing community which is majorly inflated by of his back story.
  21. Get the Ox involved in some kind of capacity, at least he voices his want to be involved with the club.
  22. There ain't a whole lot they can say that hasn't been said over the last six years unfortunately. But as they can't make their actions on the field talk either there is nothing really can be done for us fans except wallowing in our own bitterness and wondering why the club tortures us so. Then it's on to next week - I see my feelings rise to a peak on Saturday arvo and I already know I'll be full of unfounded optimism for the Bombers game. Next thing I know I'll wake up in a gutter somewhere on Sunday morning asking where the hell I am but knowing what happened the night before was what I knew deep down was always going to happen. Just an extract from my diary, the life of a demon supporter. Depressing really.
  23. I was umming about Watts as I think he is a confidence player above all else and might be more detrimental to drop him than effective. That is a good point but changes really do need to be made.
