I know we say this most years, but the crop of 2012 (ironically picked under Neeld) could form the basis of a pretty good team for us going forwards. They've started better than any crop I can remember, anyway. Heil Neeld!

Jack just continues to impress, impossible not to love this guy. Very well deserved nomination and well overdue.

I personally didn't notice any increase in his speed during Sundays game however he looked very confident in his marking again, which I haven't noticed for a while. In patches he really looked like his 2010/2011 self however there is a way to go. -
If he doesn't come in this week, considering his performance and the three injuries, I might have to leave a steaming turd on the doorstep of the MFC offices.

If he was 'heir apparent' to their CHF why was he playing ruck then?

People seem to forget that a big part of Clark leaving Brisbane was the desire to play forward instead of ruck. He is our best option by far for full forward so it's only logical we keep him there and continue to develop Gawn as first ruck and Fitzy along with him.

I'm not a fan of Watts and it's fine to say that he isn't putting in the work, we should trade him etc. But I think we should refrain from downright insulting our players, not sure there is anything to be gained from this thread

No point rushing Dawes and Frawley in this week. I'd bring in Toumpas, Magner and Taggert for Byrnes, Blease and Strauss. Probably Gawn for Spencer too.

In regards to Tynan and Taggert - only one of them can be kept in my opinion. Taggert is the keeper, has more aspects to like such as size and goal kicking nous. We cannot afford to keep a heap of players who are only solid VFL at this stage in the hope that they'll lift to AFL standard. It's just stupidity.

Thought he was just okay but has a lot of work to do to add some versatility to his game, especially now that sides have worked him out and don't give him any run at the ball. I'd much rather persevere with Howe than Watts.

What we need are players that are willing to have a crack for the jumper; he'll never be one of these and he's not the only one.

The fact is, we just can't afford to keep Watts. The situation we are in now, we can't afford to be carrying players with the attitude of him anymore. We need as many guys as we can get who want to work hard, run, tackle and get the ball or die trying.

Jumbo, I just can't get my head around this: you explain that you've seen numerous rebuilds and that this has affected your outlook. Each of these rebuilds has involved an inexperienced coach and you want to go inexperienced again? This just makes absolutely no sense. Experience should be priority right now because we have lacked people with knowledge of success, that has been the ultimate factor.
