I really like the sound of Dunstan and we should have a serious look but he's still not that really big midfielder like a Pendlebury or J Kennedy.
-
I'm not convinced by Scharenberg as a midfielder because he isn't one, he is a utility/backman. If we want midfielders, we should be picking guys who play regularly in the midfield, not a potential project player who could make a move to the middle. Bontempelli could be one to add to the size of our midfield.
-
They will be great but we are really lacking a couple of big midfielders, guys who are 188cm plus and 90kg. The midfield is way too small and has been for a long time hence we are continually out-muscled at the stoppages.
-
Love his aggression and hardness at the ball too. He'll be a good player for us, midfield or forward.

Which ex Demon players would we want back
Little Richard replied to Dees2014's topic in Melbourne Demons
Rivers would be the only one for me, forget about the others. -
The criteria are as follows: 1. Football performance (25%) 2. How many kilograms your father weighs (40%) 3. Your salary (35%) Seeing as young Thomas would have been well ahead of the rest of his team mates in criterion numbers one and two, it's no wonder that he finished so high.

Gillies will never be a decent player I believe. Delisted this year hopefully. Neeld tried to do what he had to do - when Roos trades picks this year, he'll be getting a better quality of player because of his influence and reputation.
-
I find it funny that I bet Roos will be trying to do exactly what Neeld tried to do last season - trade some talented senior players and some fillers, although he'll definitely attract a better quality than Neeld. I feel for Mark Neeld as his strategy was right to a degree, just couldnt pull it off.

Lol insightful? Are you aware of the meaning of this word mate? There is nothing insightful about this thread.

This news rates lower than the amount of shits my dog does today

Depth is more important than a single gun player at the moment I think. Maybe we can peel a couple of handy midfielders away from Essendon.

Come on BB, try and look on the bright side. If you forget about Wines for a moment the rest of the 2012 draft was our best in a long, long time and we (arguably) drafted better than any other club last season. To have guys like Viney, Kent, Terlich and M Jones playing almost every game and finishing high in the Bluey is a great result. Add to that Hogan, I think we'll be looking back on 2012 as an excellent draft year. Toumpas also played some very handy games himself.
-
Not to mention fifty other threads. There is absolutely no point at all wallowing in what could have been with Wines. Maybe in a few years Toump will be a much better player and the people on here torturing themselves with dreams of what could have been will be consuming their humble pie. I for one can't wait to see what Toumpas can do next season after a Paul Roos preseason.

We should be going the best available candidates, regardless of whether they played for the Dees or not. Look what happened when we went after Dees people only...

I think Bob Murphy would be a great addition to a coaching panel and if he is interested in coaching after he retires (is he?) we should look out for him. He has a top notch footy brain and comes across as very switched on - his articles are really enjoyable too.
-
Maybe, in 2010 Trengove was definitely the better player of the two but in 2011 Fyfe took off while Trenners hovered.
-
There were also sixteen chances for other sides to grab him so clearly we weren't the only ones who knew little about him or underrated him.

I had a few too many beers for Roosy Friday night, still hungover #beersforRoosy

How about a bloke in a velvet smoking jacket to trumpet every time a player comes off the ground? Signs requesting the members section to clap off every player isn't a bad idea either.
-
No one from the Dogs is worth pick one besides Griffen and they sure as hell will not trade him.
-
Good point. I hope we can entice him to hang around for a few years, how about Cam Schwab?
-
Thanks! Been looking for that.
-
I like Howe deep forward though.
-
God, sack him. He can't even spell TRENGOVE.
-
Agree with that, it's going to be very difficult to bring one in via trade. Blease I don't hold much hope for to be honest. Kent on the other hand has some serious potential, though his future might lie more in the forward half of the ground.
