Regardless of the situation, it's great to drink a lot when Melbourne play. If we get up you can celebratory drunk and if we get hammered, morose. Great times!

The other teams are hurting financially because of our rubbish performances of the last 6 years and Demetriou said this. It will be less costly in the long run for the AFL to bail us out instead of relocation and this will be more beneficial for all Melbourne clubs. To relocate millions would have to be spent, stadium logistics etc would have to be considered. It won't happen.

I don't watch Casey often and when I do I don't pay a whole lot of attention to Davis but I was just interested in whether any of the regular viewers think he could have a run in the middle? Or is he a strictly tall back sort?

Not a chance, there is little point entertaining this idea anyway as Jackson has expressly said that experience as a senior coach is a requirement. The club can't take another gamble on an inexperienced coach. People were calling Neeld the 'young gun', new generation of super coach that you are referring to and look what happened there.

Although I hope we do, I think this is a pretty accurate assessment. You'd think he'd have played more games if we were serious about giving him a contract past this year.

So here's a question, do we keep him beyond this season? My answer would be yes; his work ethic is great and is a handy depth player, especially while we have nothing else. I believe he should have been playing as much as possible this season as he is a big clearance winner.

Why oh bloody why did it take so long if Mitch was never going to play again this season? Good news though, I still think he can be more than the plodder everyone pigeon holes him as.

Thompson won't get it back together, he is on the decline now at 30. Still, you know a player is a gun when he is down on form and still averaging 24.4 disposals a game.

I'd only trade one of Watts or Fitzy tbh. If we traded both that would leave us with Dawes, Hogan, an iffy Clark and possibly Boyd, which might not be enough.

Might be pushing it, not sure Tapscott has much, if any value to be honest. I wouldn't mind holding on to Tapscott to see what he could do under another coach. Not the case with Watts though.

Not impossible to get their first rounder I think, we might have to sweeten a little though. Watts and our third rounder for their first?

How often do we hear that though? Watts has been full of potential for a long time, but hasn't produced the goods. He hasn't even shown a will to try and win or apply himself on field. We can't be hanging on to players forever just because they have potential. We should definitely consider trading him, if the right price is on offer.

I suppose the way I'm seeing it is the longer he goes without saying definitively that he is not going to do it, the more we are a good chance. Also, we'll get a better idea when the board and president are chosen if we end up with solid professionals, we are a very good chance.
