    In I suppose typical MFC fashion, I'm ready for Roos to turn around and tell us to get stuffed. However my hopes are soaring, but I'm doing the best I can to stay grounded. It's like I'm 5 again and it's Christmas eve, except this time I won't be sleeping for the next week.

    He was highly rated early in his career was he not? I'd say Markovic might be worth a go if we weren't so top heavy. Definitely grab Cross though if he is willing to play another year.

    If this Roos thing falls through, Craig may well end up coach. If we get Roos he'll be at Brisbane next season I think. Anyway, good luck to him. He's a pretty likeable character.

    It will be great for the long run anyhow, it's just the first couple of years that worry me. As you say though, no doubt Jackson and co will be sorting this out. They wouldn't have made an offer which isn't viable.

    Obviously you don't pay a years wage in one week. I just don't imagine that signing Roos on will automatically solve all our financial worries and allow us to pay him that much. Stadium situation will be similar I think - it doesn't take one season to boost crowd numbers significantly enough to make more money. Membership will probably be a similar situation. Hopefully our new administration can get sponsors on board but I think the situation is a little concerning, especially with paying the rest of the coaching staff.

    So if the AFL is giving us 3 million, but we are reportedly offering Roos 2 million a year... how on earth are we supposed to pay him? Maybe Jack Watts can do chores around his house?

    Jack Steven for pick one would be great, don't think St Kilda would be silly enough to agree to that though. 3 for Sloane or Swallow would be pretty good gets too.

    The fact that Davis played two underwhelming games (albeit as a forward) in his whole career for us and is probably going to get delisted means that he has basically no value at all on the trade table.

    I'd almost be prepared to offer up a second round pick for him. He's had a good year averaging 24.8 touches and doesn't look like slowing down too much yet. We'll have to pay overs to get players at this time anyway and I think he'd probably be worth it. If we pick up him and Cross, I'd hope they leave it at that with older players and focus on youngsters/mid range recruits. We don't want to become too old and slow rather than young and slow.

    Doesn't mean he can't be traded... Anyway, this situation is pretty ridiculous. REVILOLI states that he 'believes' the players involved are Frawley and McEvoy, that's not the rumour. It's ridiculous that we'd even begin to consider that trade - McEvoy is a half decent ruckman while Frawley, as someone stated above, is close to the best full back in the league. It's laughable.

    So is the definition of tanking 'purposely not winning' or 'not doing everything in your power to win/not trying to win every game'? If its latter, Freo should definitely be looked at.
