Where do we finish on the ladder next year?
Good Times Grimes replied to CBDees's topic in Melbourne Demons
I bet that your reaction would be the same if you'd heard that statement in 2008. For the record, I predict 8 wins in 2014. -

Who's the one that Viney is boxing with? Didn't recognize him... -

Not sure...he definitely participated as I remember reports of him "training the house down". Hope he's okay...love watching him play. -

What's up with JKH? Missing the entire preseason or just a portion? -
Hopefully this indicates that they see the added importance of showing up to day one of preseason fitter than they've ever been.

Surely this is all the evidence ASADA needs to prove that Essendon uses drugs... -
Jones deserves all of the money.

Is that accounting for the delisting of Blease, Strauss & Tapscott?

It'll definitely be interesting to see who we select, given that Wright, Lever and McCartin have all at one point been touted as potential number 1 picks, while Roos has expressed a reluctance to draft talls. It sounds as though Brayshaw will almost definitely be a Demon next year, and it seems that everyone clinging on to the faint hope that Petracca will slide. I haven't seen enough of any of the draftees to give an informed opinion, but I'd like to see us address our midfield needs with both picks. If Petracca is available, great. If not, select the next best mid.

Whats the prediction of how we are going to go next season
Good Times Grimes replied to ruddo's topic in Melbourne Demons
If we are to start to climb the ladder, we're going to need to see significant levels of improvement from the likes of our young guns (Toumpas, Salem, Tyson, Viney, Kent, McDonald, Gawn), while certain senior players need to reach another level (Dawes, Watts, Howe, Garland), and our best players from 2014 will need to perform consistently for 22 games (Jones, Vince, Cross, Dunn). On top of that, we need to have all of our fringe players performing strongly both at Casey and in the firsts so that solid performances are required to retain a spot at senior level. I just see too many holes in our list at the moment, and our midfield doesn't even compare with most of this year's top 8 teams. I think we'll win 4-6 games, but will be more competitive over the full course of the season. We desperately need to address some needs both at the draft table this year, and through free agency and trade in 2015. There are some fantastic free agents available next year, while we've got a great opportunity to pick up some elite young talent next month. Getting another preseason into our young guys will help our cause, and I believe that while we won't escape the bottom four in 2015, there is cause for optimism from 2016 onward. -

I think he should come cheap, given that: 1. Blues have stated that they want to get rid of him 2. He has a court case pending 3. He played most of 2014 in the VFL Definitely not worth a second rounder. -

Blease for Garlett? Weren't Carlton the ones that were interested in Blease? -

Worth the punt I think, as long as we don't have to sacrifice much -
I believe that title is incorrect. He has requested a trade and will be delisted if nothing can be worked out.

That backline doesn't fill be with confidence.

NHL and NBA coaches both wear suits. It's a better look, but you are sacrificing sponsorship $$

Give him 11. That number should go to a player he WANTS to be at the Dees. -
I would do pick 3 for Macrae. If we could figure out a way to get pick 6 as well, that's a bonus.

He effectively just admitted that he's uncoachable

RIP to one of the MFCs finest. -
But they could just choose not to sign and head for the PSD. I doubt Brisbane would want any of them anyway.
