He didn't demand to be traded to the Dees...not sure where you got that information from. He even renewed his contract with GWS until the end of 2015, however they valued pick 2 more than they valued retaining him.

Last year my young cousin had switched his allegiance from Melbourne to Hawthorn. Living abroad, I only ever see him every year or so, and I was unaware of this tragedy until I went to pick him up to take him to Auskick and saw him decked out in brown and yellow. I asked him what had happened to his Melbourne guernsey and why he wanted to walk around looking like he'd be dunked in a toilet. After thinking about it for a couple of minutes, he went to his bedroom, changed into his Demons' gear, and off we went to Auskick. He's been sending me updates on the Dees every week since, and proudly sports Jack Viney's #7 on his back.

Kent is ineligible on multiple grounds. He played 15 games in 2013, which rules him out, and even if he had played fewer than 10 games his VFL suspension this season would rule him out from winning the award. "To be eligible to be nominated for the award, a player must be younger than 21 years of age on 1 January of the award year and have played 10 or fewer senior games before the beginning of the season. A player who is suspended during the season is not eligible to win the award, however is still eligible for nomination."

This will definitely not happen. The only possible change that I can see (barring injuries) is JKH in for Riley.

Could this be his week for a rising star nomination? Not the most possessions/goals/fantasy points ever seen, but he was a game-changer from the moment he shed the green vest with his pressure, second efforts, confidence, and obviously his winning goal.

Things are not looking good for the Rangers. I thought the referees in Game 2 were a disgrace, but LA is clearly the better of the two sides.

I didn't realize how tough some rookie listed players have it. I can't believe that in an era where TV rights deals are worth over a billion dollars, some rookie listed players are forced to take on second jobs to support their families. Surely that has to change. Anyway, full credit to Pedersen. I couldn't stand him last year, but now enjoy watching him clunk awesome marks on a weekly basis.

Keep in mind that Jamar probably doesn't have very long left. If Spencer were delisted and Jamar were to retire at the end of next season when his contract expires, that would leave us with Gawn, Fitzpatrick, Pedersen and King as our ruck options (barring trade/draft). King will not be ready to ruck in the AFL next season, and I think Pedersen and Fitzpatrick are more forwards than ruckmen. So, if Jamar or Gawn were to go down next year (history says it's likely), then we need Spencer. I think this is a good signing and helps us to retain a bit of depth in our ruck stocks.

Long term injury list

The thing that bothers me about baseball is that in the grand scheme of things, a 15/17 game record and a 10 game losing streak don't really have a massive impact on the final standings. It is still very much anyone's game in the AL East, with over 100 games to go!

I predict the Kings in 7, which means that congratulations are in order for the New York Rangers, the 2014 Stanley Cup Champions!
