  1. I watched most of the match. There was obviously a huge gulf between the two sides. In this cast the stats don’t lie, Megan Fitzsimmons was clear BOG. Assume she will play predominantly forward this year. Goldie was a cut above as well
  2. The kid must be feeling 10 feet tall and bullet proof at the moment. Imagine being 19 years old and running around the colosseum while 40,000+ people yell Rooooo as you slot 3 goals on debut. How bloody cool would that be…!
  3. Handy day to be wearing red and blue Melbourne AFL beat Sydney 134-84 Melbourne VFL beat Sydney 88-47 Melbourne VFLW beat Darebin 130-8
  4. Just quietly Freo are currently 16th
  5. I thought the standard of the game was akin to the AFLW in the first couple of seasons; skill and fitness levels weren’t quite there aside from a couple of exceptions. Heath and Goldie were clearly a class above. Of the VFLW players I thought #16 Woolcock, #11 Lehman and (I think) #6 Kirkwood were good Like you Dees_In_October, I was trying to work out who was who. You definitely did better than me. Where did you get the stats from?
  6. I was going to write up my thoughts for the game, but i can’t do better than Deegirls one line summary.
  7. FWIW if you Google ‘small meniscus tear recovery time’ it comes back with 2-3 weeks. Obviously there are a lot of contributing variables
  8. Yes and their only 2 wins for the year can be against Fremantle
  9. We have found one in Judd McVee
  10. Wonder if that video indicates that Kate Hore is the next captain?
  11. Huge! Unparalleled! Exceptional! The other teams can target each others players. The other teams can argue about the injustices of the system. We will stay loyal and get on with winning flags. Love this group.
  12. I’ve only read the last 3 pages of this thread but I think you are all being pretty bloody harsh. I thought it was a really good game with some great skills. I don’t watch many non Melbourne games but thought that was a ripper
  13. Well in that case, lets hope he gets lots and lots of opportunities to prove you correct. 🤞
  14. Robbie Flower Clarrie Oliver David Schwartz Allen Jakovich Brett Lovett
  15. We were at 26,751 members this time in 2013. At 52,738 we are literally twice the club now to what we were then. And whilst the season still hasn’t even started, we have already passed our FINAL membership tally of every year of our existence aside from 2021 and ‘22.
  16. They lost me at “With exceptional ball users in Petracca, Oliver, Viney, Angus Brayshaw” without mentioning Bowey. The problem with most footy commentators is they don’t know as much about each team players as that’s team’s supporters, particularly the passionate ones who would inhabit places such as this.
  17. Reading about the exodus of players Carlton on the AFL site. I didn’t realise the we got Tayla Harris plus pick 44 and gave them pick 32 back. That’s an out and out steal. But wait there’s more! We used pick 44 (that became 42) to get …….. Tahlia Gillard. Has to be the AFLW, all time draft steal!!
  18. Bloody hell. Huge getting Grundy. Great job. Can’t wait to listen
  19. As Grundy was kicking his goal at the end of the first one of the commentators said that Grundy had “poured bit of a bucket on Craig McRae and Collingwood”. Does anyone know what he said?
  20. Not sure if it has been mentioned here but I thought ANB was really good.
  21. I always like to see Melbourne win but, if I have a choice, I’d rather the team finish the game injury free.
  22. That’s better than what I was expecting. Roughly 3,500 up on this time last year, fresh off winning the flag. Also 15,000 ahead of our FINAL figure from 2013. We have come a long way in ten years.
  23. I hope so much this catches on across the league. It could kill betting advertising in the comp.
  24. Blumin hell Brisbane along with Wardlaw, the competitions leading goal scorer from last season, have also lost: Emily Bates. Premiership player, AFLW Best & Fairest, 3 X Brisbane B & F, 3 X All Australian, Coaches player of the year, Player most Valuable etc and Greta Bodey. Premiership player, All Australian and Brisbane leading goal scorer S6 Apparently they are both going to Hawthorn who were reportedly the only team with Tier 1 spots up for grabs. If we can stay hungry and United we would have to now be clear favourites for this years flag.
  25. Wardlaw (Bris) to Saints Woodland (Ade) to Port Ade In theory it should make our two biggest competitors slightly weaker. Molloy (COL) to the Swans can’t be a bad thing either. Let’s hope we remain relatively unscathed.
