  1. Along with the video on the MFC website sounds like good things are happening with our Central Australian Academy and the Red Tails side. On both a travel and footy fronts it would be good if we could keep the Alice Springs game but ditch the Darwin game. https://www.canberratimes.com.au/sport/afl/demons-mark-their-territory-20180525-p4zhmg.html
  2. Austin has a younger brother (Jensen) who is 14 years old. If he is any good at football it’s about time he concentrated on basketball for a few years.
  3. Makes sense, Tyson had to get a run this week so no use in taking him to the Alice. Will be interested to hear about his game today please Drunkn.
  4. That’s true but I don’t believe it was the AFL’s nostalgic desire to "save the oldest football club in the world" but rather because they had signed a media deal to provide 9 games a week. I think the only bit of decent timing we had over that time was not to have our near death experience in the last year of that deal. Pretty much the prlcks had no choice but to throw out the life bouy
  5. I must admit I’m coming around on the new age colour tv -> disco blue clash shirt. Having watched Melbourne in the original incarnation I associated that jumper with losing - often and by a lot. Now it has grown on me. Amazing what a few decent wins will do!
  6. I could be wrong but I believe Deestar took exception to the bit where you said it was "Jayden’s fault he was rotting in the twos". I have no more information than you but perhaps his rapid form decline is due to circumstances outside his control?
  7. There was a photo on Demonland a while back of Mark Bradtke standing next to Max Gawn and it was the first time I’ve seen Max look ‘small’ in comparison to the the bloke standing next to him. Mark must be a huge man. I remember him being pretty mobile in his time too. Also very good to hear that Austin skills are already pretty good, that’s 80% of the battle with big blokes and given the athletic basketball background it’s not hard to get excited about him. An end of season taster debut Rnd 20, 2020?
  8. Very athletic and very tall. Could be the draft bargain of the century but either way there is very little down side..
  9. I don’t want him at Melbourne at all. But if he did come I’d want a camera trained on Tex the moment he is told that Lynch is buggering off to the Dees. Actually you may as well tell him about Sloane at the same time.
  10. I like this comment. We rarely, if ever, talk about the importance of the players abilities to concentrate throughout the match. Aside from physically maturing into that 50-80 game player getting used to constantly being ‘on’ would also take time. "One of the most underrated skills in AFL football now is a player's ability to concentrate for long periods, because the game never stops," Stone said. "The whistle doesn't offer a pause, and the next thing is happening all the time – changing positional roles, momentum swings, rotations on and off the bench, and tactics. "So a player's ability to sustain concentration is definitely an advantage … one mistake can fracture team defence, and it's the same with offence."
  11. Brutal. You have to love the commentator (Peter Landy?) saying he was “sure it was accidental”. Apparently kicking for goal isn’t the only thing that hasn’t improved over the years.
  12. But next week we are at home in Alice Springs!!
  13. 31 disposals, 8 Mark’s, 9 tackles and a goal is a fair effort in a team that lost by 109 points. Stats aren’t everything but Cripps was very good and, I reckon, deserved a vote particularly as we had an even performance across the ground
  14. Well you are going to love how Brisbane are going against the Hawks then. If this keeps up Carlton will find themselves dead set last on the ladder!
  15. Fair to say there won’t be too much talk about ANB missing the Adelaide game..
  16. I reckon Josh Kelly only re-signed so he could chase the on field success everyone thought was coming. Quick two year contract taking him through to the end of ‘19 and then back home. Success or not i think you’ll see a number of GWS players heading home before their best playing days are over. Hopefully we will be able to benefit from this.
  17. It’s a bloody miracle considering what we have been through
  18. By memory a membership doesn’t count unless it is $50+. I thought the $1 thing was a good plan by the Saints. You had to give your details so if you didn’t follow through the Club could contact you. As you’d already signed up you must have had some interest in the Club. Smart move by the Club
  19. Powerful yet compact inside bull? Are you sure that’s not Viney?
  20. He is talking about the points system given to each draft number. Our first round pick last year (pick 10) plus our first round pick this year (say pick 11) minus the second rounder they give back to us = pick five. PS. I may have missed another piece PPS. I’m just happy they reckon we will have some salary cap space left!
  21. Interesting that we are debating at what point the 8 doesn’t change. There was a fairly significant change to the top 8 just last year between rounds 22 and 23.
  22. We all love watching their discards - Betts, Kennedy, Touhy, Jacobs etc - inflict terrible pain on Carlton. Give Garlett a Go!
