  1. He certainly looked like he was enjoying his footy on the weekend, and Rudeboy reported that he was keen as mustard about playing footy again.. I'm hoping that's an indication that he thinks / knows he will beat the charges
  2. I find it hard to believe that most of them can look the opposition in the eye after those kinds of performances, let alone engage in chit-chat ..how do they look each other in the eye after that, or neeld for that matter ?!
  3. Sydney, according to the fixture
  4. knee injury or not, barty played a beauty tonight i reckon.
  5. How did that other Mike Brady song go ? Little bit of Cazaly in us all ... "Monday - you read about it, Tuesday, you talk about it etc Friday, there ain't no doubt about it."
  6. ah well, looks like everyone's got the good oil 'cept me
  7. was just jokes.. my username should indicate that i'm a viney fan from way back - i even liked jay
  8. According to this interview with Cale Morton - http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/7415/newsid/135366/default.aspx - Bartram is carrying a kneee injury and struggling to get up each week. "he’s going through a lot with his knee injury at the moment. It’s a challenge for him to get up each week. " Aside from the obvious concern about CB's injury, I'm a bit surprised that the club / Matt Burgan has not edited this info out the interview - do we really need to telegraph who's playing with a niggle / not at full strength
  9. wait til you see what a disappointment jack viney turns out to be !
  10. i'm a daily reader of TDM and love most of their stuff - in this instance it would seem truth is funnier than fiction! One of my faves from last year was this little beauty: http://thedailymaggot.com/?p=312
  11. Thanks DemonDave and all the others who have provided updates throughout the day
  12. definitely looked comfortable in the clinches today
  13. There would have to be some temptation to bring Jurrah back to the senior team and play him as a sub this week, maybe bring something electric late in the game ... although if he needs to get more match-conditioning into him that might be better served with another run at Casey
  14. too many players converging on the one contest.. if we dont win it, the opposition have a handful of free players waiting nearby to whisk the ball away
  15. so sick of watching groups of melbourne players - usually midfielders - all go after the one man, who can then dispose of it by hand to one of the four or five opposition players who are left unattended as a result. they're able to whisk the ball away from contests time after time because of this.. i understand this is part of our stronger attack on the player / contest but they're struggling to get it right a lot of the time
  16. Not if he has the same attitude to being dropped that he does to losing ..
  17. this is a good call .. seems flat-footed and then gets caught or disposes of it poorly under pressure
  18. gotta disagree with you there JR - I reckon Martin offers more, both in front of goal and around the ground
  19. I saw him at a cafe a few hours before the Doggies game and he had a compression bandage over his calf .. not sure if that has anything to do with it
  20. I'd prefer to see Martin out there instead of Sellar to be honest.. Really struggling to make an impact
  21. 6.Jones 5.McKenzie 4.Magner 3.Rivers 2.Bail 1.McDonald
  22. Moloney's in the third was a shocker, and Howe should have converted in the second from straight in front. Conversely, we managed to kick the difficult ones. You've got to take your chances when they come
  23. Looked like we ran out of puff in the last quarter to be honest - hence they started to get first to the ball and we lost the run and spread we showed earlier in the night. Much more consistent application and pressure were the big positives for mine - we seemed to cover the stoppages better rather than all players being on one side of the contest. We really missed Clark... Sellar never looked like taking a grab and Watts didn't seem interested tonight. Give me Martin before Sellar any day of the week. Grimes had a fair bit of the footy but his disposal really lets him down at times. Jones was super in the first half, he's really thriving under Neeld
  24. Seeing pictures of a broken-hearted brian stynes snr at yesterday's game made me sad all over again. I really feel for his poor family - they would be missing him tremendously
  25. Interested to read Cam Schwab say that with the signing of the three new sponsors "we have largely bridged that gap" left by the departure of EW by my reckoning, that means we're still a major sponsor - the equivalent of a reasonable $$FOJ deal - short of where we should be..
