  1. I didn't know you worked at Essendon !
  2. That goal was kicked from inside the centre square! What a gem, superb game tonight.
  3. I saw a reference in another thread to Stu wearing lederhosen. Where is he? Mid-season trip to Bavaria?
  4. You seem to know a lot about it jazza - weren't you in town recently?
  5. I don't understand how it's even news. What's so unusual or novel about Biff urinating his way around the Gat in someone else's undies? Sounds like a fairly typical night to me...
  6. Not that far back in the paper to hide this interesting yarn: http://www.theage.com.au/victoria/irishman-pleads-guilty-to-causing-500000-flood-damage-to-hotel-20140506-zr5od.html It's about a bloke nicknamed "Gaff" - but by transposing a few letters we can uncover the real story which is about "Biff" and the "Gat". A drunk Gaffney woke up just after midnight and walked out into the hallway and urinated. Wearing just a pair of underpants, Gaffney took the emergency exit stairs down to the eighth floor and turned on the fire hydrant valve, causing a large amount of water to start gushing out. Every floor below the eighth floor was soon flooded and guests had to be evacuated. Wet and naked, Gaffney then walked up to the 10th floor and woke up a guest in apartment 1001 who gave him a pair of underpants to put on.
  7. Tried to cover his backside by saying it's a debate that we'll be having for the next 10 years, but only succeeded in making himself look like an idiot as he was the one who rushed to judgement without even seeing 2 of the 3 protagonists play. I'm not a Barrett hater like many on this site, but he has every reason to be red-faced over this one.
  8. Well, we had a budding photographer on the list (Clark), and now an actor (JKH), so it would be nice to further broaden our artistic talents with a painter / dancer. Sounds like he's had a rough time of it as a kid - good luck to him.
  9. No visit to Melbourne is complete without a night at the Gat jazza.. it's a 'cultural' thing You really should try to book a room, even if it's just for the hour.
  10. I'd pass. He's been up his mum and his legless sister and he thinks he killed his dad!
  11. It's a bloody farce and I loathe that ground more and more with each visit. I avoided the $30 charge and went to Level 3, which was advertised as general admission, except that the first 10 rows were reserved for St Kilda members. Sat in the bloody heavens and struggled to identify the players properly, especially the new boys. I get the 16 game membership too but it's not particularly good value - dont even get a good / reserved seat for our Etihad home game. @#$@#$%#$%^$&%^&*%^&*^&*^&*(*^&
  12. methinks the realms of hell are more likely to be playing replays of our 2012-13 season on high rotation. and dwayne russell is commentating !
  13. Isn't that roughly the plot of WJ's 'Highway of Demons', chapters of which occasionally appear on this website?
  14. Not sure if it's been mentioned already but I've started making my through ESPN's 30 for 30 series on DVD and it's sensational. Have only seen 3 so far - Run Ricky Run, Without Bias, and the Tale of 2 Escobars - but all were top-notch docos. Watching the Ricky Williams one, I couldn't help wondering how good it would be to have a player like that bursting out of the centre of the 'G with ball in hand heading towards goal. What a jet. Len Bias also had all the hallmarks of a champion in the making. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
  15. Annie Hall takes the cake for me, although I also have a soft spot for Take the Money and Run. I'm currently re-reading The Complete Prose of Woody Allen, which takes in Without Feathers, Getting Even and Side Effects. If you're a Woody Allen fan, it's well worth a read. I actually find his writing funnier than his movies - as one reviewer notes on the blurb of this collection: "No 500-page book ever contained a laugh a line, but this one goes pretty close."
  16. One of the most commonly misused words in the dictionary. I used to use it to describe Garry Lyon's effortless play.
  17. So you don't like Watts because he's a man of few words ... ?
  18. Good work 45HG - and go Jasmine and all the Demon dames!
  19. I stand corrected, sort of. Google tells me banoffee is a mixture of banana, cream and toffee Only slightly less repulsive than a banana coffee combo
  20. Was in McDonalds this evening and noticed at the McCafe they were selling Banoffee cake... I can only presume it's a banana / coffee combo. Could there be anything more repulsive? Please, Redleg, tell me you're not a banoffee man ?
  21. It seemed you were, but Florida's going to a recount and it now looks like George W. might get up..
  22. Of the 27,697 banana references on this thread, this definitely takes the cake. well played sir
  23. Let me guess. He just went up to have a look around ..
  24. anyone else noticed the massive media campaign spruiking bananas on telly and radio recently ? http://www.bandt.com.au/breaking-campaigns/elevencom-pushes-na-na%E2%80%9D-campaign-for-aussie-banana tanking? that's a no no ! list management? that's a na na
  25. if only they could rebuild the team as quickly as they can rebuild the site
