  1. I think the club should be open to offers for Jamar. If he could help us land a quality midfielder then I would be more than happy to trade him if not happy to keep him. I am quite confident in saying that the Heffernan rule has been abolished and clubs are able to trade players who have been signed up during the year. Dermie was on SEN just last week giving Carlton credit for signing Warnock as it prevents Warnock leaving and getting nothing in return just like Melbourne have done with Jamar.
  2. Great news to have Webjet on board. Knowing that the deal is for this year with the option for a further two, Cam and the club are going to face massive scrutiny if they [censored] the extra two years up
  3. I think Masters would be a good sponsor to get on board. There just starting out in there quest to take on Bunnings and I think we would make a good fit for them.
  4. Spot on, the 2001 Hodge, Ball and Judd superdraft we picked up Luke Molan, Steven Armstrong, Aaron Rogers and Brad Miller. Any of the following players could be playing for us Brent Reilly, Nick Dal Santo, James Kelly, Jason Gram, Steve Johnson, Sam Mitchell, Leigh Montagna, Jarrad Waite, Dane Swan or Brian Lake now that hurts. The 2002 draft was no where near as strong but we still missed out on some quality players. We picked up Daniel Bell, Nick Smith, Jarad Rivers, Gary Moorcroft, Cam Hunter and Ryan Ferguson. Players who could be playing for us include Kade Simpson, Adam Selwood, Ryan Crowley, Nic Malceski or Daniel Merett. I know I would love Kade Simpson in our midfield at the moment.
  5. Interesting so many people saying they like Gerard Whately, I think he is one of the most annoying commentators of all time.
  6. It will be something like, Melbourne have paid way over the top for a player who has yet to prove himself and it has now put other players offside at the club due to Clarks massive salary.
  7. While I like the idea of making an offer for a big name player like Goddard this year, I also like the idea of holding on to our draft picks this year and make a big play for players next year. While next years draft is considered to be much stronger and deeper I think the club could look at trading our first two picks and compo picks next year. This would put the club in a position to get Jack Viney as a 2nd or 3rd rd selection and then with the traded picks look at getting a Goddard, Pendlebury, Gaff or any other quality player available.
  8. How funny is it that the AFL come out the day after Tom signs up with compo for all four players they have signed. Why had they not done that as each player was signed by GWS. Certainly makes the whole thing look very stage managed by the AFL / GWS.
  9. Essendon are going all right arnt they and how many old bombers do they have. The club will not just give the job to Viney.
  10. Gary Jnr was also born and bred Geelong. Money talks and I think we should make Bartel an offer he can not refuse.
  11. While I think the Saints play an ugly style of footy, I would be more than happy to put up with that style if it meant we were competitive week in week out unlike the last five years.
  12. Given how bad our leadership group is and our need for quality midfielders I think we should make a play for Jimmy Bartel. Geelong have yet to resign him and I think he would be a great fit at the Dees. Now I know it would be highly unlikely to budge him from a stable super team, but I think we should offer him a truck load of cash and he can be captain if he wants.
  13. The Footy Show tonight said that both the Crows and Dees had offered Clarkson a deal but he said thanks but no thanks to both.
  14. You need to give up somebody good to get somebody good. Port need a ruckman we need skillfull mids, I think long term Boak would help us more than Jamar.
  15. I think Sylvia's stats against the best teams are not too bad this year. Hawks: 1st in disposals Tackles: 4th Eagles: 4th : 1st Saints: 3rd : 3rd Blues: 4th : 2nd Pies: 9th : 12th Hawks: 6th : 4th Cats: 8th : 2nd
  16. He should be high on our list.
  17. Looks like the off season will be very interesting. Just when you think this once great club is heading in the right direction we implode ( again ).
  18. Don Mclardy was on SEN this afternoon and said their had been no talk of an extension for Bailey.
  19. Robert Walls is such a [censored]. Yeah we will just ignore the fact that we lose more matches than we win and we lose by an average of 66 points.
  20. The Ox on SEN said Stynes was away on holiday so I dont think it will be anything major.
  21. In my opinion Dean Bailey will be one of the luckiest coaches ever if he is given a contract extension with our results so far this year. I think any rookie coach in their fourth year at a club that has an average loseing margin of 52 points would struggle to get an extension. I also think history would show very few rookie coaches survive not making finals within four years. I like Bailey and will feel for him if he his too be sacked, however I think its about time the Melbourne FC demanded success not just wanted it. I would love the club to poach Clarkson and Evans from Hawthorn as replacements for Bailey and Connerly.
  22. I agree with you the best way to get stars is with top 5 picks. But in most drafts there are super players picked up after the top 5 even the top 10. 2007 draft: pick 12 Rioli, 14 Grimes ( Morton 4 ) 2008 draft: pick 11 Sidebottom, 18 Shuey 2009 draft: pick 11 Gysberts, 14 Jetta, 18 Tapscott, 20 Fyfe, 21 Bastinac Not sure about you but I could handle any of these two players as replacemnets for Scully.
