  1. Posting a link like that is ridulous. Our great game would be very ordinary if it wasn't for umpires. I propose that any work mates of jarnott10 start a facebook campaign the next time he has a bad day a work. It's only fair right??
  2. I have to pull this one up. I don't think Aaron Davey gets enough credit for his sublime skills. There isn't another player in the competition who can kick the ball the way he does. I believe the opposite to what you're saying is true - when Scully, Trengove and Grimes are up and running there will be no opposition taggers left to follow the best kick in the competition. Does he rely on other players for his games to work? Sure and that has been his undoing in a young emerging side but as this team progresses, and despite the negativity on this forum, they are progressing, Aaron's game will climb to a new level.
  3. And that's the way it should be. What Dunn did was not only negligent but it was significantly more dangerous than the little slap Pratt gave Juice.
  4. Yeah, spot on. Green and Dunn in particular were ordinary.
  5. The rule has to do with concussion, so unless those tackles in the crows-suns games resulted in concussion, then there is no reason for them to be sighted under the rules as they stand. Tackling technique is not under question and nothing in the game will change because of these decisions. It just means that the odd unlucky player will be rubbed out for a couple of games.
  6. To any other player in the comp todays game from Davey in terms of disposal would be called brilliant. He didn't kick it over 30m because he wasn't allowed the space to look further afield. Aaron was ok today.
  7. Totally. The team should tackle as aggressively as it possibly can this weekend. The more often these type of tackles happen, the less viable it is going to be for the AFL to keep rubbing out players.
  8. I'm not supporting the AFL's gagging of players at all but let's put it in context; If you're a Sales Rep working for a company and you decide to write an article in the local paper outlining the companies poor decision making, what reaction would you expect? Once again, I'm not supporting this type of action but would just like to point out it is not exclusive to the AFL.
  9. Bailey would have had Green with 4 votes yeah??
  10. I don't think that there has been any distinct change in game plan, it all comes down to effort. Every coach in this competition has a good enough game plan to win when pressure is placed on the opposition. I think yesterday was huge for the boys as they have finally played a full 4 qtr effort and I think we can fairly safely say that we haven't done that for at least 4 years. We've had big wins but still had periods of the game where our effort isn't there. Even if they have a few bad games along the way, at least now they have a reference point.
  11. Maric was ok. Wouldn't put him in our top 10 today. He did use the ball well though.
  12. 6 - Moloney 5 - Jamar 4 - Petterd 3 - Trengove 2 - Sylvia 1 - Frawley A few boys unlucky to miss out Davey, Maric (whom I thought used it well but probably had alot of his ball handed to him on a platter) Gys worked hard but disposal let him down. A great, if predictable effort today. Here's hoping the boys can back it up next week against North because it's only going to get tougher after that.
  13. That's what sucks about the new TV deal - channel 7's broadcast is awful. Channel 9 had much better coverage than both 7 and 10.
  14. It is horribly contrived and predictable comedy, executed poorly and has little to do with football. There are moments where they could be analysing a game or interviewing a player but we're still waiting for them to finish a joke we knew the punchline to a good hour and a half beforehand.
  15. It seems that most teams' supporters hate their coach. The wonderful people on this forum, aren't fans of Dean Bailey, will hate our next coach and then love the one that steps in when our players are developed and ready to compete.
  16. If your theory about lack of performance after playing Gold Coast is true, then we're in a bit of strife this week as a few of the boys have just come off jogging aorund against a Frankston team that make GCS look like hall of famers.
  17. Nothing wrong with the depth of our list. This comment shows little foresight.
  18. Confusing Post - you talk about moving from development coach to Head Coach. Are you talking about Mark Williams, Our development coach OR Mark Williams, the former power coach?? Both have the nickname Choco if I'm not mistaken??
  19. No thanks, I think there may be some better qualified people to decide Dean's fate.
  20. Finally, after all this over-emotive garb, a balanced view.
