  1. It is contradictory to criticize the club and yet not make the same criticisms of the man who sets the agenda. Seems to happen alot on here. Personally, I don't have a problem with where our club is at. We're not playing quite as well as we'd like but at seasons end, I believe our record will show that we've improved for the 4th consecutive season. Can't ask much more than that.
  2. Yep, spot on. I'm a supporter like the rest of us on here.
  3. I don't have that statistic available to me but Dean payed reference to it in his press conference when asked about Stef. He may have been exaggerating but not sure. Yep they were all the umpires fault, sure thing.
  4. So a 70 point turnaround is about culture? Look, I'm not down at the club on a daily basis to see first hand what the culture is like - but I'd assume that, in a professional atmosphere, most clubs are doing the same things relevant to available resources. I'm just not sold on there being some airy, fairy thing called culture hanging in the rafters stopping us from performing. If you are right then it starts at the top, guys like Jim Stynes are responsible for this. Simply not convinced. I believe in the structure that is in place and I hope we stick at it and that stability leads us to success.
  5. Martin worked really hard and all credit to him but I don't think ruck is his position. Hitouts were ok but the 12-13 free kicks from ruck contests were extremely costly. We need a ruckman in the side as soon as possible.
  6. These are 2 guys with a vested interest in our failure. They clearly know that if we keep doing what we're doing and stick to our guns we'll be a dominant side over the next few years. We've finally got on an even playing field with the other clubs in regards to facilities etc., the last thing we want to be doing is letting the Hawthorn Football Club make our decisions. We have a good playing group, good coaching group and our 'culture' is fine. Come on Dees!!
  7. I think Tappy was extremely stiff and I think the umpire would admit a mistake on that one. Those jumper tackles that spin players around are just not effective tackles and, in my opinion, shouldn't be rewarded.
  8. Those statistics just suggest that he is important to us at this stage. Agreed, He is a very solid foot soldier who will be the perfect compliment as a mature player to the likes of Scully and Trengove. We have a good team that is growing and improving. Success is coming.
  9. I've tucked these ones away in a little word document to bring back at a later date. Classic. FWIW, every team has outside players and Aaron Davey is a very good one. I reckon our little pea hearted [censored] is going to come in very handy in a couple of seasons when our young boys are up and running.
  10. It's good to see some calm and rational thought on this website. Agree wholeheartedly.
  11. IT'S ALL OVER PEOPLE, WE DON'T HAVE A PRAYER! Just to break it up a bit. I'm gonna throw this out there. We'll win 3 of the next 6.
  12. On ya bike then. It's one less bunch of posts about our club heading for an apocalypse that we have to sift through. Barrack for Collingwood, they seem to be winning most weeks.
  13. 6 - Frawley 5 - Davey 4 - Warnock 3 - Sylvia 2 - Martin 1 - Watts
  14. Look out, the apocolypse is on it's way. She'll be right, soldier.
  15. Yep, wasn't suggesting the umpiring was good today and I don't mind criticism where it's due but taking a swipe at umpires in general through a facebook campaign is pretty low and doesn't do a hell of a lot for our game.
  16. The consistency will come. I thought amongst today's capitulation there were some really good signs. I thought Stef Martin's ability to fight it out in the ruck was great. We had 12-13 free kicks from stoppages so hopefully he doesn't have to stay in there too long but his attitude in there was great. Jack Watts continues to get better and it's only a matter of time before he has a cracker. Let's not jump on the club too early - there's great times ahead my friends.
  17. That's good, I prefer us blaming a multi-national than the usual weekly singling out of every single player on the list.
  18. My god! If you were to take this website as gospel, you would assume that every player is useless. The truth is, even in a team that loses every single game, 1-2 players at least, are having great seasons. Brent Moloney is one of them. He worked extremely hard today and you can't ask much more than that. He was beaten and Swallow did a good job tagging him but he wasn't overly damaging himself. Ah well, what can you do - anyway, who's next??
  19. Where is that statistic? I ask that question, not in disagreement but would love to check out some other players stats.
  20. I love Gysberts' ability to win the ball but I always pray for a quick handball or an easy sideways kick when he gets the ball. I don't like seeing him kick it forward.
  21. hahaha....I blame this post for today's loss. Thanks alot.
