I have similar thoughts, Sylvia is quick if he can be pushed into the middle for longer, also Blease almost becomes a must in this situation too, Nicho might improve after 1 year and a second pre-season, lets not forget he was in ammos this time last year , I wont write off Davey either, but pace was one of his weapons and if he has lost that then it hurts his game alot

Midfielders and will include anyone who is not a pure forward or back (some forwards such as Sylvia will play on a flank more than midfield potentially also, he did in 2011 Neeld may see this differently) say 8-9 midfielders per game not including Sylvia types plus those who are injured ect so we would need 14 players who can play this role? is that enough? Davey had his worst year every in 2011 i dont see how he can be "ahead" of grimes, also plays alot off the back flank ect and people want him forward or of a forward flank this year which you arnt counting, Bail missed just as much of 2011 as Grimes? Sylvia played predominantly Forward so where are all our midfielders now? Moloney, Jones, Trengove, Mckenzie Sylvia who i would love in the middle but this doesnt happen for whatever reason so far. Gysberts (also injured), Blease has played 8 games.... Nicho... My main issue is saying he is just ahead of Bate who is no bodys midfielder, Grimes was a junior midfielder not a backman so that is why he will be able to play here if he is fit, i would rate him higher than Gysberts in this regard personally, but as i said after watching his 2011 highlights on the MFC page he adds alot down back also, maybe playing 70/30? you need players doing this, (similar to Enright?)

Ok so if he hadnt already Scully has shat all over his image, atleast he and his family will be very very rich

2011 Player Review - # 40 Mark Jamar
Jordie_tackles replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
This is it, he really works his way into seasons imo, this disrupted his rhythm, I think we will see alot more 2010 in 2012 -
That is a bit/ALOT over the top, Bate has struggled for games and anyone suggesting Grimes isnt best 22 is really just being ridiculous, i suggest you watch his highlights to see what he did in the best part of 6 games this season... He has the scope to move into the midfield where he was originally drafted from, and his latest injury is just plain unlucky imo. But he could really be one of the things missing from our backline this season too, playing 3rd or 4th man up he gets to alot of contests and spreads from them, even if he isnt always the best kick.

The old man just got a job with GWS as a recruiter, interesting imo I heard he had a job with Sydney but never knew it was in the FD though it must have been business based. Either way he is a full time recruiter and his wage goes under the salary cap Greater Western Sydney Giants admit secret deal with Tom Scully's father Phil

The Waylen (aka Zyrus) Manson Thread
Jordie_tackles replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
I have very few such worries, I see Aaron, Wonna, Jamie, Nev and especially Jurrah aiding a Manson type player and acting as there support structure. He would most likely live with one of these guys, and have someone he can communicate with at a club -
The Waylen (aka Zyrus) Manson Thread
Jordie_tackles replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
All i hear about is how good this guy is ect, height and all things. Can anyone tell me how he plays what role ect? he is around 193/80 yeah? is he a Jurrah type, who can play midsized and crumb or otherwise? -
I agree but our midfield is the weakest point on the field, but i dont think we can do anything about it this season
-
I think we are a quality midfielder or 3 short personally, we are still speculating on Blease making it, not that i think he wont, and we get JV next year but i still think we should take best available regardless with our first pick then with 52 and 54 we can look at some more needs. A small forward is missing but i dont think that is our biggest need atm. Finding quality Mids in the 30's and 50's isnt easy either so i can see why we may look in other areas

i understand the IR issue but there were 2 full pages of conjecture when my understanding was that he was innocent since 5pm, and drinking wasnt even involved until 12 which was at a house by the sounds of it... far from partying if still terrible preparation for IR training

Lol at 3 pages for this, Colin Sylvia cleared by police, His punishment on Demonland is yet to be confirmed, But it is looking like life haha

Conflicting views, or disrespecting someone who is making their best attempt to get where he wants in life after a major mistake he made, It was the latter, No issues with differing views, it is what a forum is for, simply add some value to an argument rather than taking pot shots at someone from your keyboard, i didnt see one true reason other than, he was on drugs once and now he never gets a look in

Demons to investigate new Docklands base
Jordie_tackles replied to redman's topic in Melbourne Demons
I thought Cox architects did the latest MCG redevelopment? was combined effort between both firms Amazing for essendon by the sounds of it..... 2 grounds such as that wow -
Yes Sewell has got alot of VFL accolade, as i said though he isnt recommended to us from a previous Coach of his, His U18's *coach is development coach at the Dogs (Chris Maple) and has been for 3 years now, when Sewell has dominated, havnt seen the dogs even ask him to train, this says it all to me. I have mentioned why Myles (i man i actual quite admire) as i went through high school with him, although not being close friends with him. Myles is a greta player who deserves a chance, although it seems his disposal and speed maybe decision making hold him back from this.... Tuck has shown similar form this year 4th is not to be sneezed at in the Liston, has been on a list if not for his indiscretion may well still be, and i believe has less limitations stopping him from taking the next step. We cannot ignore our new coaches when they give us leads like this, im sure he knows Travis well and his demeanor outside of the game, effort he puts in, desire to get back playing AFL and more importantly his ability to play football and serve the MFC. Also everyone saying he is the "Iceman" ect get a life, people make mistakes, and most deserve a second chance in life, im sure you have never been perfect, quite i poor showing imo.

2011 Player Review - # 34 Stefan Martin
Jordie_tackles replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Can i ask who the better second rucks in the league are than Stef? truly versatile ones, now that Leigh Brown isnt playing? anyone? -
HFF CHF HFF FP FF FP Picked on form

I can see it too, the thing in his favour, is unless MN wants to sacrifice our forward line then he is our only genuine flexible ruck solution, he is very versatile in his ability

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JACK VINEY
Jordie_tackles replied to einstein251's topic in Melbourne Demons
If anything in recent times i have found RF unusually optimistic, and a forum would be boring if everyone agrees on all topics? it would just be a whole lot of arse slapping no? -
The kid showed more than you give him credit for - list worthy imo, especially with some Satterley approval which is something Sewell lacks.

2011 Player Review - # 28 Joel Macdonald
Jordie_tackles replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
He is great depth and gives his all, i like most of his game to be honest, disposal can improve but who's cant.... The thing that really gets me, and even mroe so once i checked out the season stats were his "Free against" 14 or something at over 1 a game i think was crazy.... He needs to take these dumb acts out of his game for starters, i would rather him than wonna tbh, then rookie wonna if he still wants to be around -
Gysberts, Grimes, Frawley, Tapscott, Blease to name a few we havnt done badly in the teens imo, but stars are always hard to come by
-
It is a little dangerous, playing in Darwin is nobody's home game atleast, and we will be playing the Dogs who seem to be on the slide or Port so could be alot worse. Many supporters will be disappointed at playing a "Home" game away, but members generally get compensated from the profits made with an away game free entry and the club pockets 3-400K...
-
I agree with your judge in 12 months call but the filth have had plenty of injuries this year, even when recovering in Arizona.... Misson comes with a great record both at the swans ans saints, only time will tell though

I literally just finished exams for the year wooo, was crap though, atleast i get like 5 months off haha edit so i will most likely be there to keep my post relevant
