That's the type of player that if available later in the draft i would be happy if they took a punt on him. Similar situation to Fitzpatrick and Gawn with long term views.
-
Ha ha ha ha. Spot on. For pick 75 and 75 only.
-
That's a shame and i hope the kid makes a full and speedy recovery. It does take two to tango and i wouldn't be at all surprised if he had some form of verbal or physical stoush prior to getting hit. Still very low act by the perpetrator. Personally, i just don't see him as big enough for what we want or need. We have plenty of lead-up type of players. I'd be looking at taller options.
-
Good player. Trade price tag would be way too high (like top draft pick, maybe top 2 and or a player). Plus like others have said, given the plethora of young blokes we have in a similar mould, i don't see the point. Kepp developing blokes like Blease and Tapscott plus Bail, Strauss and all the other mids.

Unfortunately E, this time of year always brings out of the woodwork those posters who think we can trade average players for guns or top draft picks and that another club would actually entertain that idea. I am not surprised any more. Just don't give it any credence.
-
My ONLY concern is he is another mid sized player. Similar to Petterd, Green, Jurrah and co in that he would look to be more like a lead up player, not the towering pack mark player we seem to lack. If he gets to us then great, but is there anyone else who is a bit bigger?

Top 5 things we want to see happen in 2011
Grandson of a gun replied to dees189227's topic in Melbourne Demons
1. Win more games than we lose 2. Win interstate regularly 3. Play Finals (because this is predicated by numbers 1 and 2) 4. Grimes to play a full season (along with Blease, Petterd, Davey and others) 5. Watts, Scully, Trengove, Gysberts, Tapscott, Blease, Fitzpatrick, Gawn to continue improving and play together. -
The act was inspiring and corageous and had me standing in my seat clapping. Get well soon Jonesy, we need ya.

I thought it was well written and like most fairly accurate overall. Not bad for an outsiders perspective.

I go away for a night and shizen threads like this appear. I just upchucked. The Original Poster should be banned for 6 months for bandwidth wastage.

Rather humourous thread lads. The bloke who wears four + four + four is pretty handy too.

3 things i fell in love with this season....
Grandson of a gun replied to Jerry Lundergard's topic in Melbourne Demons
1. Jimmy and the board (shows how bad the previous administration was)... 2. The on field development 3. Jurrah, Frawley, Grimes, Jamar, Green ([censored] i loved them all anyway, this is just a little extra). (and 4. Seeing Collingwood falter again!) -
It is great that there is now genuine competition, vigorous discussion and shuffling around for what people believe our best 22 is/will be. I suggested that Watts should play wing this year just to get involved more but i think that like others have said, barring injury he will be one of the first picked every week at the CHF post. FWIW i believe it will look something like this (injuries aside) FB: Garland Frawley Bartram HBF: Grimes Rivers McDonald C: Davey Sylvia Trengove HFF: Dunn Watts Petterd FF: Green Jurrah Wona Fol: Jamar Moloney Scully Int: PJ McKenzie Gysberts Tapscott Emg: Blease Bruce Bate Bail

Bater predicting a massive pre-season
Grandson of a gun replied to RedDragon1972's topic in Melbourne Demons
He carried the forward line for years but definately fell out of form this year. I still reckon at his best he could be very valuable and with a full pre-season under his belt i hope he can recapture his best. -
Yeah i agree it has to be a contender but i still think Buddy takes the cake. They were awe inspiring and at such a crucial time of the game. They were also a great display of pace, skill and confidence whereas Rioli and Dunn were displays of luck.
-
He's never been a player. Period. He gave us nothing as a forward and nothing in the ruck. I agree Jamar needs support but Juice ain't the answer. Spot on Sylvinator.
-
He is a spud. A dud. A list clogger. A hack. Not worth the Melbourne jumper he wears. Will be glad to see him gone. Melbourne may as well have played with 21 today. Goodbye Juice and good riddance.

Wow. Good to see the knives out 2 hours after the season has finished. You must be drunk JCB, no other reason for such tripe to be written.
-
Yeah a great year from all of them. Reckon Green may have just got over the line for AA today with another 5. Jamar and Frawley in there two...
-
What. Newton was terrible and was the liability, every time he went into the ruck North got a run on. He is a spud. Spot on Wayne. Morton just needs to keep working hard in the pre-season and get an injury free run and i reckon he will be back to his best. Agree Wona didn't get much of the ball but he chased and tackled like the devil possessed all day today and it resulted in a couple of goals. We just needed him to get more of the spilt ball in the forward line himself. North simply used the ball better. We turned it over too often and undid all our good work.

Gotta get the best available big man with the first pick. Be it Lynch or someone else. It is the most glaring hole we need to fill and also an area on our list where we lack overall depth. Then with our second pick we take the best available high skilled player with a view to being able to run through the backline and hit targets like Davey does. That's my two cents anyway.

Fremantle... good call or an utter disgrace?
Grandson of a gun replied to Jaded No More's topic in Melbourne Demons
Well what do you know! Good work Freo. I'm sure there's a few eating humble pie now........... A 6 point loss is as good as a thrashing for those scumbag blues! And the filth losing too is sooo good. Now hope Sydney or Freo can send the Blues packing next week...... and then the Doggies can pull one out of the bag and shock the pies! -
Not a chance in hell. The blues have barely any tall forwards as is and you think they would even entertain a trade for henderson? In the words of Michael Caton.......tell him he's dreamin! Even if St Kilda were to entertain the idea of a trade for Kosi, which i believe isn't even on the cards, the price we would have to pay to get him would be ridiculous. Anyone who thinks Warnock and a second round pick for Kosi would get a deal done has absolute rocks in their heads. Another ridiculous trade suggestion. 1. Brisbane would never entertain trading Mitch Clark. 2. What you are offering is so far short it is funny. What you are suggesting is a fringe backman and a pick somewhere in the 30's for a bloke who was arguably the best ruckman in the league last year and a very talented footballer. Are you serious. To get a bloke like Clark would cost us way too much. You would be talking Warnock and maybe another player plus at least the first round pick. Get your head out of the sand people and be realistic. Wow. What a "nice" reality you must live in. And so it begins, people inflating the value of fringe players and second round draft picks for top line opposition players and thinking that we will be able to pull the wool over opposition clubs eyes. Please.
