  1. Failpatrick. Where do we find these guys. Agree with most of the above. Thought Jones was great today - and Garland was amazing until that moment... he had to have a crack though. Watts - Missing since July.
  2. PATHETIC. It's Port for God's sake. How many easy goals did we throw away? I'm so glad we didn't finish this year with a win, the players need to WAKE UP. Remember when we all pencilled in wins for the last 3 games? LOLLING MY ROFL OFF.
  3. I was just typing a post about how lucky we are to have Garland. *eats words *spews blood
  4. I'm confident we'll win as long as FitzUnco doesn't get near the ball for us.
  5. Denis's Howe puns are better than Dwayne Russell's.
  6. Mckenzie kicks straight for goal. Uprecedented. WATTS - LIFT!
  7. I think we;re about to break the record of most amount of frees given away while trying to break a tackle. And that's without Scully playing. It killing me.
  8. Nev's not exactly slow is he? Love this guy - reminds me a lot of Whelan at his best. I reckon his kicking has definitely improved in the last year or so as well... With a pre-season under his belt, he'll be just what we need, he chases his guts out. Like Davey used to.
  9. Ha! This is exactly what I do! I can't control myself, bashing the bejesus out of the couch with the remote... or the volume of my voice. When I'm at the ground though I am usually just in stunned silence. You know the worst possible result is coming. It's inevitable....but you don't want to show your pain to opposition supporters. Aaaah football.
  10. I'm going but really...it's pretty damn tough to even get mildly excited in these last few games. At least there's a couple of new players to watch. I can't blame people for not showing up this year. Even these 'sure things' are likely to be a nail-biting disaster that can ruin your week. Least inspiring season I can remember in my 32 years. ...and watching Collingwood wipe the floor with Freo tonight, I just can't imagine anyone in this current crop getting us anywhere near that level of footy. Even their first year player Fasolo is turning out to be better than 90% of our team... What the hell! How does that happen? We'll be lucky to get this number - but I'm going with 17,560.

    Bennell

Always rated him, he just needs to get more of it. 5-12 possessions every week isn't enough, even for a tagger. Not sure if it's a fitness thing or confidence, but until he regularly gets between 15-25 he will remain irrelevant. Good on him for having a go yesterday though.
  12. WOW. Doesn't 2011 just continue to be a DELIGHT! It was a tight, claustrophobic, finals type game today (yes, I know.. a strangely pathetically skilled final) but we weren't up to it. Again. I've noticed our 'skilled' players are the softest and our 'hard' players have the worst skills. Unlucky for us. LOVED: (I'm not bothering with Sylvia, this should be the standard): :- Blease today, great pace. :- Garland was decisive and intense. :- Jones is improving. Good fast disposal and kicks the goals. YIKES: :- Mckenzie's skills/decision making are a liability. :- Scully. Hmmm. With that tiny frame, it's going to be 5 years before he has an appropriate body to play on the ball effectively. Goddamn he gets absolutely monstered in tackles... just crumples into a convenient sized ball. :- I'm prepared to cut Davey some slack with his runs on the board... he's obviously not right, will come back next year and be great I suspect. :- Howe...WTF. :- Nice shots for goal, but JURRAH - STOP HANGING BACK AND ATTACK THE BALL!!!! What is with that!?! :- Morton was ok until that handball straight to a Tiger....and He is SO BAD in the air. If there is a 50/50 contest, you know he's not going to win it. The Anti-Tingay effect. Leave please. This isn't the bottom of the barrel. We can still lose to Port. It is a reality. Ohhhh God.
  13. Hmm. Maybe it has had some effect. I've certainly found it annoying, I'm sure the players have too. How many times do you reckon they've had the Scully question asked when they've been out? Probably also has everyone thinking about money 'what about me' and the like. Probably shouldn't have much of an effect but it certainly hasn't helped us this year that's for sure. God when will it end.
  14. That is shocking. (sorry) Death, disease, mental problems, & racial barbs should be off limits... Everything else, including stuff that's completely made up - don't be a sook. Really hope Ricky's not one of those.
  15. It's not the players? Fantasy Land. Population: You. It's ALL about the players. Their attitude, their skill level, their ability to beat their man. What good are new structures and game plans if we don't have the skill to execute them? It's all about the basics, we aren't going anywhere until they are ticked off every week. That is the only game plan we can handle.
  16. Great post. Talking sense post. The whole team is down on confidence, once that comes back, it'll be amazing how our skills across the board will improve. If we judge all our players on their current form then none of them would get an AFL game again. I think this wacko emoticon sums up my face at the game today.
  17. I do realise this is basically irrelevant this week but I agree - a logo/emblem should be simple, not try and signify the entire history of the club... in which case they should have left space for the image of a long-suffering dees supporter fashioning a noose out of his official 2011 scarf. I quite liked the last 'back to basics' emblem we had - that's just me... stuff forking out $$$ to graphic designers. B)
  18. Sad day. I suspect there's a few more to come. This list doesn't have the balls or backbone to turn it all around overnight, unfortunately at the moment we're about 21 McKenzies short of a picnic. We need a captain that inspires - some aggro players that want to win at all costs - and a coach that makes them all tough as nails. NO EXCEPTIONS. From now on we have to be a club that stands for something. Finally let your demon out FFS.
  19. That was the dumbest effort I saw on the worst day I've seen. But unfortunately half our side probably shouldn't be getting a game after the last few weeks. Let's turn on each other Lord of the Flies style.
  20. That was magnificent, right in front of the MCC from memory... My favourite Nathan Carrol moment in those random couple of good years he had... After the game I remember walking around inside the ground with a massive smile on my face, floating on air... such a surreal feeling to win that final... Great thread - it's really hard to think of any of those type of games! Which isn't great...but it's true, any of these next few games are a massive opportunity... surely we can snag one and shut up the doubters! Can't afford to not be at the ground, as much as it may turn out a painful experience... In my mind it's probably one of these wins that will allow me to feel we've improved slightly on last year... Otherwise it will have been a bit of a nothing season...
  21. Do you mean Maric & Jurrah? Because I agree, Jurrah seems to be overplaying the crumbing aspect of his instructions at the moment. We often have no one actually contesting in the air at all down there. It all just contributes to us looking soft as per usual. *sighs* Re Maric vs Bennell... My suspicion is, with the attributes that Bennell has, the Footy dept feel there is still a chance he will turn the corner confidence-wise, as Watts has done this year. I still see more upside to him then Maric and would keep Jamie for one more year. The fact the Maric can't play in defence further hurts his cause I think.
  22. Yeah I agree - I've totally lost faith in Jurrah's goal kicking now... I'm still bitter about the 'goal of the year' that he missed too. Unless he can dodge and bounce his way to the goal square he is no sure thing. A bit like Jamar. Actually Jamar is no sure thing from in the goal square either. Jurrah and Ricky just need to get their confidence back - I'm positive both their actions would work if they stop thinking about it so much. They've been kicking a footy their whole lives, their bodies know how to do it!
  23. This is more of a commentary thing again, but every single time a ruckman tries to do something other than hand off immediately to a teammate you will immediately hear: "Was it Clint Eastwood that said 'Man's got to know his limitations'?" Dermott Brereton used to say it at least once a game when on special comments, and Dwayne 'the [censored]' Russell has picked up the mantle. Think of something new!
  24. Bate also not in the team... that's 13 different.. Extreme! But in a good way, mostly.
