Probably still just in our best 22. Surely we all hope to just draft some better players, you know, the naturally hungry & competitive kind you don't have to wait several years to see develop. Then some of our fringeys will get squeezed out naturally. Until then we don't have much of an option.

Morton has had some decent games and some woeful games this year. So have nearly all the boys at some point. but moving forward...I'm not sure if he has a place. I see Morton as being the Anti-Tingay. When Tingay had a 50-50 contest looming, I always felt confident he was going to win it, then do the right thing with it. More often than not he did. Yes Morton is a different body type....but he's just too soft, too uncertain. The 50-50's almost always go against him. It's embarrassing sometimes. The next few weeks are going to be a fight for his life to stay on the list I suspect.

maybe there has been a directive to not bother referring the touch on the goal line stuff as there is no camera on the line anyway. The result would have stood based on the vision available so they may as well just stick with the umpires call.

Ugly: Stanton. All the focus was on Jetta playing for a free... but I counted FOUR occasions where Stanton blatantly attempted to con the umpire with preposterous staging. Weak as p*ss effort from a truly unlikeable player.

I did at the end of the replay. That win was a long time coming. I'm just devo that it's the one game I wasn't able to get to this year. I watched it on my phone at a classy restaurant and was screaming out. Some random guy hugged me when we won. So pumped.

Expecting a win wasn't ludicrous 8 times last year. All the media will talk about is the massive fade out in the last quarter against a side that was in pretty woeful form.

Way too early for this call but I understand the sentiment. Jack had his standard 4 or 5 soft efforts but one stood out to me that I didn't notice at first, which ended up costing us a goal. Bail's switch of play to Watts was a shocking decision in the first place, but Watts sensed Robinson coming and instead of jumping for the mark and attacking the ball, he took a couple of steps backward to avoid any body contact. Bruise free football right there. He wasn't on his own today.

As around 50% of our list are spuds who seem to be getting worse by the week, I have no idea how we're supposed to judge how Neeld is going. Clearly he's not getting the best out of his players at this point & I don't care how difficult the game plan is to adjust to. Confidence is key - especially for a team lacking basic kicking skills - and right now the players have none. Why are some of the most promising players from last year disappearing off the radar? Petterd, Bail, Nicholson, Garland, Trengove to name a few, all going backwards. EVERYONE at the MFC needs to lift.

Their skills aren't the problem, it's their men running off them that causes the issue and neither of them can tackle or get a hard ball. I don't think either of them would have helped us tonight in their current form.

Mckenzie not the sharpest tool either. Every week he tackles someone who doesn't have the ball. The Hawks TOY with us every game. So sick of it. PICK UP YOUR MAN AND DON'T ALL JUST DIVE ON THE FOOTY! Ha ha! it's true! I remember Anthony McDonald was a natural in traffic too.... couldn't be tackled! Those players have been few and far between for us since those days. Good on Cale, he looks like he has more desire than most of our blokes.

Can't believe it's come to this...but there is no way that Fitzpatrick could be worse than Sellar is at the moment. May as well bring him in, leave him up forward and see if he can at least take 1 grab for the day. Need Martin back asap. Bennell will be too soft to face the Hawks. I reckon Petterd would be a good option though. Dunn should start too.

So, Watts - out. Thought he might have been in trouble when Morton started looking like Rene Kink compared to him. Get some mongrel, put some muscle on (is he getting skinnier by the week?) and come back in when you play less like Tinkerbell and more like you want to give your all for the MFC. Good Neeldy.

I must admit, not as many glaringly bad things were offered up by Dees tonight. But... What the hell was with the St Kilda Ruckman outrunning Tapscott in the last qtr? Is Joel MacDonald the dumbest footballer in the AFL? Even though the umpires had been pinging blokes all night for deliberate out of bounds, he still attempted the world's most exaggerated paddle out of bounds in the last qtr. Luckily he completely missed the ball. God I want him out of this team. Rivers was fantastic. Bartram is so dependable. Bate was our best/only target at half forward and worked his guts out. Tom Mc is going to be a ripper when he builds up his skills and confidence. Jamar can tap like a boss but is useless in every other facet of the game. Morton was surprisingly ok, as long as he avoids any 1 on 1 contest. Morton & Watts must be the 2 worst 1 on 1 players in the comp. I'm convinced that if they played on each other, neither of them would ever take possession. At least Morton seems to get space. Watts just fairies around in no mans land. Disappointment. Surely Petterd is a better option than Dunn. Surely Stef Martin can offer more than Sellar...can that guy ever get the ball? I agree re Trengove, he really isn't a dynamic player at all. Bloody Lenny Hayes. That was a good goal.

I would've thought Moloney is the one who needs to lift. He's way worse at picking the right time to try and break a tackle.

Just watched the replay after being at the game today... Not sure why I felt the need. It's very evident that Watts has almost everything as a footballer... except for intensity. He really could have been the difference tonight, he had 4 or 5 opportunities to really shine but just couldn't step it up a notch. What is it going to take? Torture a kitten in front of him? Jumper leads to the nipples? Why doesn't he care?
