Some people say that's just because he's desperate for the ball. But you never see Gary Ablett diving full length... always keeps his feet. (I realise this is a ridiculous comparison.) More often than not once Jordie gets it down there, his disposal is ineffective.

Number of Kicks are similar, but they have 111 handballs to our 47. Everything else is pretty even.

our lack of movement up the ground is disturbing. At least Watts ran from behind to provide something. Our skills are so bad but the effort to get loose is worse at the moment.

This is incredibly depressing. I can't remember having a worse side than this. Donald & David Cockatoo-Collins would dominate in this side.

Clumsy and uncertain - but tried to take the game on at times. Would probably be the worst defender at most clubs except for ours. Gillies is just clumsy and uncertain.

I went to the footy with my 10 y.o nephew yesterday who loves the Dees as much as me - and chose to support them even though his dad is a big Saints supporter and his grandpa played in the '66 Grand Final for St Kilda (Ian Synman). He was so upset yesterday he had to leave early in the last, the poor bugger knew he was going to be the butt of jokes again when he's back at school. I realised in 5 years of going, he's probably only seen us win 6-7 times. I wonder if he's ever going to go to a game expecting us to win. I wouldn't wish this team on anyone at the moment.

Also agree, I came into this game thinking our team was definitely weaker than last year based on what I saw of the new guys over pre-season.

Some atrocious moments of bruise free football today. Pedo ducking his head under no pressure. Sellar not wanting body contact in the defensive goal square and costing a goal Nicholson dropping an easy chest mark then double fisting away the next one. Gillies double fisting another uncontested mark. Melbourne double fisting my dreams. For God's sake, you can be crap but please don't be SOFT! This is heartbreaking.
