Dee-licious replied to The Chazz's topic in Melbourne Demons
Nothing exciting. Haven't met Neeld, haven't met Misson. WIll tomorrow. And he also picked WCE over Geelong. Footy show - thats about all that happens.... -
6: Sylvia 5: Jones 4: Garland 3: Frawley 2: Rivers 1: Jamar
-
SEN said that he has done his ankle. Nothing more than that though.
-
Jones - hard under again Bartram - let forwards kick Watts - tough at FF Frawley - really strong game Trengove - tags hurting him Morton - please find confidence Sylvia - whats wrong mate? Mckenzie - good strong game Dunn - needs forward tag Petterd - great since drop Garland - another strong game Moloney - little form drop Rivers - great 3rd tall Macdonald - glad he's back (for the record I dont like him though...) Scully - weight on shoulders Martin - had better games Tapscott - unsure of role Davey - couple more games Howe - very sharp improvement Jamar - regularly outpalmed Cox Blease - played with confidence Nicholson - impressed when subbed

Really good post.

Chatting to the sources today, Scully still making his mind up but it is really starting to affect him mentally a lot more now.

Dangerfield is up for grabs this year and who we really need is Dawes. Just for the rumour mill word is Bate has started to talk to Richmond. Sylvia isn't going anywhere and it sounds like Morton is pretty safe as well. Just adding this in from the other thread - Contracted to End of 2011 • Tom Scully • Addam Maric • Cale Morton • Matthew Warnock • Austin Wonaeamirri • Joel Macdonald • Jack Fitzpatrick • Brad Green (Upgraded to Veterans List) • Colin Sylvia • Stefan Martin

I love the ol'd mathematical probability and I'll keep my hopes up until it's no longer possible - why? cause I love the MFC and would love them to sneak in. However, what I really am looking forward to is the change in attitude of everyone on here when we play 3 teams that aren't in the top 4. I cant wait to see Frawley dispose of Reivolt and us smash GCFC and break the AAMI hoodoo. That will be enough for me to finish the season. 10 and a half wins and a full pre-season.... bring on 2012!

6 Frawley 5 Garland 4 Howe 3 Petterd 2 Rivers 1 Jones

I've really liked this thread. I can't believe how negative so many people are. WC are a top 4 side and we took it to them for 3 quarters. Really liked the work of the back line. They are special! The more games we get into this young midfield and if we can get them to be a little more defensive we have the makings of a strong team.

Just got an interesting email... From my source Viney's been offered the caretaker but not confirmed if he said yes. Further Green is apparently taking it very personally.
-
Anyone else hear 'handpass from Scully' =)
-
On the radio they were talking about Macdonald missing a week so.... In: Tapscott, Warnock Out: MacDonald, Morton Let Warnock just sit on Barry Hall.

My 3 word player analysis V The peasant scum
Dee-licious replied to joeboy's topic in Melbourne Demons
Bennell did some good things but I think Krak won that contest - but he wasnt the only Pie to win their one on one. On the Jones debate - his disposal was terrible (as it is often) but he puts his head over the ball and gets it. I would love someone with the disposal skills of Trennes (the usual Trennes not the one today) having the ball the entire time but until the kids start getting under the packs Jones is always going to end up with the ball. -
They are both brilliant footballers as you'd expect from pick 1&2. Still happy to have them over Martin but geeeesh I wish Martin only signed a 2 year contract so GWS were also trying hard after him.
-
Good Jack Watts getting better all the time Morton - good when he has a role Moloney - really hard at it Jones - head over the ball Bad Structures Clearences Options to deliver the ball out to 2nd efforts Ugly Jones - disposal Midfield pressure no one in the forward line to kick it to

Think there will be a few changes this week In: Jamar, Tapscott, Nicholson, Petterd Out: Gawn, Jetta, Bennell, Jurrah Tempted by Cook and Garland but holding back for a week. I really want to see a few games from Evans and Nicholson and see how they match up compared to Strauss, Bennell, Jetta, Howe, Tappy etc so we can make a strong decision at the end of the year for senior list or not. I'd also see how Bate and Dunn go this week at Casey and make the decision the following week if we need one or both and how they fit in.
-
This actually made me feel good. As people have said - Scully wouldnt be blatently lying if he has signed. I dont think its a marque player but a hard in and under player - one that they couldnt get by drafting kids. But the speculation will be interesting over the next few weeks.

Where will these guys play next year?
Dee-licious replied to Dee-licious's topic in Melbourne Demons
... and they mention Morton and Pettard at the end. -
http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/where-will-these-guys-play-next-year/story-e6frf9jf-1226073722957 Interesting article about where players may end up next year - and Bate is the first one up.

Loving how young we were last night - great to see Bailey going with youth. Hows this for a stat: Drafted 2010 (3)- Howe, Nicholson, Evans 2009 (5)- Scully, Trengove, Gys, Gawn, Macdonald (pre-season) 2008 (6)- Watts, Strauss, Bennell, Jetta, Jurrah, McKenzie 14 of our 22 were drafted in the last 3 years. and just for those interested 2007 (2) - Morton, Martin 2006 (1) - Frawley 2005 (1) - Jones 2004 (1) - Maloney (Trade) 2003 (1) - Sylvia 2002 (1) - Rivers 1999 (1) - Green

This is a really good point. Not wanting to read anything into it all but it would be very un-introvert like for him to be on twitter, heading for tea every week and being overally social. Plus he still hangs out with high school mates which does eat into socialising time. Remember Trenners and Tappy are from SA.

Maybe it is a good idea blooding some more youngsters. Maybe we play Blease, Strauss, Cook, Howe and McDonald to see how they go. Cause Bate, Dunn, Newton, Jetta, Warnock are clearly not the future for the MFC. I'd like to win games too, but with the injuries we have maybe this is the perfect excuse.
